When is the 6xE ready. THAT would replace the lost V8 I have. Also miss my amber rear turn signal lights. Still waiting for that Jeep....but nice review.
Just got mine and I have to say, very impressive car. Super comfortable, very quite ride and and having air shocks really floats the car over bumps. I was not sure about the plug-in, but now, no regrets. 29 miles electric only does keep my tank full for a long time on local runs and work commute.
Great review~ best one on youtube, but it's absolutely ridiculous for Jeep to put 21" tires on ANYTHING intended to go even partially offroad~ the 18's on the trailhawk are perfect.
Lauren, I honestly do not like too much technology in a car. For example, Jeep is an American of road car. The British wanted to make their own version of a Jeep. Hence, they created the range rover. Range rover are know for their off roading capabilities. But then, they wanted to make then luxurious as well. Then, they wanted to compete with the Germans so they also wanted to make them loaded with technology as well. Hence, this is where things got messed up. Personally, I work as a Software Engineer in New York City. For example, the Apple's operation system for iPhone has about 15 to 20 million lines of code which the same can be said for Samsung Android as well. BUT if you take all the electronics, Computers, sensors that are in a range rover, it code have about 250 - 300 million lines of code. The more lines of code you have the more your system will break because more lines of code mean more bugs and inefficient. That's why ranger rovers system break all the times. I hope that the same will not happen to the JEEP. Also, Lauren, with the Toyota BZ4X whose wheels came off. After that, I strongly feel that this so-called "Toyotas Reliability" is just a marketing tool at this stage. They are not making reliable cars as they used too.
Agreed. I used to sell cars and Range Rovers and Jaguars were extremely undependable. Jeeps also had major electrical issues when owned by Chrysler and was also unreliable. And this was BEFORE adding more electronics and computers. Then, add in the hybrid system, just asking for trouble. Yeah, Jeep made in America but owned by foreigners, sad.
Lauren - Two Questions - 1) on the 4xe, does the gasoline engine charge the hybrid/electric motor while running or does the electric motor only recharge via plug-in? 2) Plusses/minuses of the 4xe engine versus the 5.7 L V-8 (surprised that size motor only delivering 360hp/390 lb/ft of torgue; 80 less lb/ft than 4xe). Thank you
1. Yes, it has regenerative braking which will allow the battery to recharge while driving. 2. 4xe has more power than the V8 and MPG of the V6. Only reason to go with the V8 is if you want a loud engine and dont mind 15 mpg
14:07 "56 MPGe (..) which is the combination of gas and electricity". Actually, this is rating for the electric efficiency ONLY. As soon as the engine gets involved, you can no longer define an MPGe-rating.
I was considering on buying the Lincoln Aviator Black Label Grand Touring which is a plug and hybrid. But after a careful consideration, I said to my self that I will not buy it. I mean the car can only go about 16 miles on the battery alone which is not much. Also, the batteries will eventually have to be replaced on every plug and hybrid which is very costly. Further, you will end up spending lots of money on the Mechanics because not lot of mechanics exist for batteries so they charge lots of money. I also do not have a charger. Hence, I will not by either a hybrid nor plug in hybrid. I will in the future just buy the Aviator Black label which is a V6 with twin-turbo. But I heard that Lincoln is planning on releasing all EV aviator in 2024. Hence, if that's the case then I will NOT buy it.
I'm not interested in hybrids for the gas mileage, I'm interested in the torque. I test drove Lincoln's Grand Touring model. I didn't find the response much better than the non-hybrid model and a bit balky.
To anyone who's ever owned a car longer than a year will know that all those shiny (soft) plastic interior pieces will get smudged, dusty and full of scratches. Oh, did I forget about the peanut butter and mustard smeared on the touch screen? Who's designing these? Why?
You are rushing through way to fast. Did it offer regenerative braking for example if it did what types? Slow down, not as good of a video as you used to do.

I worked in a town, where the stealing of gas caps was a big thing, so I put on a locking gas cap!
By far beats everyone in its class! BEST SELLING! Award WINNING and most capable! Keep it up JEEP! good job!

The 6 month premium on my insurance went up $90, going from a 2013 GC Limited to a 2022 GC 4XE. A lot less than what I thought it was going to.
Excellent review, Lauren!
Thank you! 😊
Excellent presentation 👌🏼
Thank you
2nd commemt, 11th like.
Keep up the good work.
It's really nice but for nearly 80G? That's insane.
Thank you

I have a BMW currently and have previously owned an Audi. I'm not a techie. I swear the German automakers like complexity for the sake of complexity.

I have just ordered it full optional, My 23 Summit Reserve the price in Italy is 110.000 euro plus 1270 euro of taxes...
10.1 inch screen is quite small for a large, expensive, 2022. Maybe the 2023 will correct this omission?
Agreed

I agree with you. It makes the most sense to go non hybrid
Hope you don’t live in California or Oregon, if you do you won’t have any choice after 2035. Electric only. 😂

look at that INTERIOR! JEEP has the best CAMEL interiors in their class!
good looks, RUGGED and best pricing! FORD is still trying to fix the BRONCO!
I will not buy Ford even for half off. Ford = to quantity, not quality. And they still don't learn.
Meh, I will stick with the Explorer ST.
I like the explorer and I was hoping that the new explorers will have Ford Sync 4 but no. Its still sync 3 which is outdated.
