Not a huge fan of the 4700 , when you are driving with the window down the wind vorticies turn the cab into a cyclone especially during rain and snow storms the windshield gets more water on the inside than the outside, the Canadian western star was far superior with wing windows and other design elements
This video strikes me as a bit of an "info-mercial". Maybe it's really true, that Western Star is the best choice for them.. or was. Yet, it's reasonable to think that that truck manufacturer receives some indefinable "good will" from this video.The only thing that I know is Southern New England Ready-Mix operations...... and until the front-discharge mixers by Oshkosh and Advance became common, that particular market application was truly ruled by Mack and particularly, Autocar.
why is it so good the western star?use the same key pieces like the other manufacturers!There are no major miracles!engines:caterpillar,cummins,detroit diesel.trans:eaton fuller,rockwell,spicer.suspension:neway,chalmers,hendrickson.axles,diffs.:meritor,dana,etc...essentially only assembles parts manufactured by others.only the cab and the chassis of own-manufactured like other American truck!it is not wrong but it's just assembly not manufacturing!this is the big lego!
Yeah true In New Zealand the American trucks rough riding and the clutch's are far to heavy and the dash is really poor and no foot well for you foot . Here in New Zealand we do have a lot of American trucks now, but a company here has about 200 Nissan Diesel Trucks they are very good for driver just like a car I drive a UD 470 Nissan Diesel and its very ahead of American trucks as in Driver ability eg. the Clutch is like car they turn far sharper they have good power .And D T Kings Ltd a very large logging company along with all other transport duties only buy UD Trucks . American Trucks do have bigger HP but you can only do 90kms here. Fright liners are one of the worst trucks I have ever driven

They are so tough i have an 85 w.s. 4964 that now has 2.95 million miles on it and stull going (im in england)
