    Been watching the Goodsons for a while when I could catch swamp loggers on TV. It amazes me what they can go through with their equipment. Haven't seen you on for a while. I like your channel too. I learned a long time ago running air boats don't go in any further than you are willing to walk out. How they put that equipment in places that could swallow it up is awsome. Keep it up I like watching all of you.

    I got to meet a couple of brothers in their 80's, that were swamp loggers here in Florida starting back over 60 years ago. Now the stories they had and the way they had to log was just off the chain! They didn't have the machines we have today, so they had it really hard! But they loved it and did it for over 50 years before they just couldn't do it anymore. Sad to say they both passed away in the last 2 years, but I'll never forget hanging out with them at the hunting club and hearing their stories about logging.

    Most of us who have been watching you for so long feel like we know you personally. I feel the same way about the Goodsons after watching Swamp Loggers for so long, as well as the Goodson All Terrain UA-cam channel. Y'all are all just normal, regular, easy to relate to people. Really enjoyed this series, Tim.

    I liked all the videos in this series. Bobby Goodson, Logger Wade, That Chipper Guy, and you are my favorite logging channels on UA-cam. You can learn alot from the different ways other loggers operate. I'm a carpenter by trade and started watching logging videos to see the where and how the process begins.

    Great video series of the Swamp Loggers! I loved watching the tv show and have been watching Goodson All Terrain logging on UA-cam. Man I always liked watching you and them and like how y'all take pride in what you do. I am a nurse by occupation but I am a farm and forestry guy at heart. I love all three and I guess you don't get all of that out of it if you don't enjoy it. Most people spend their time complaining and all of that but people like y'all and like me and many of other keep this nation going each day. I have kind of a long winded comment but I appreciate people like you showing the world what y'all really do each day. God bless all of you.

    I wish you could have met my Grandad we lost him back in March at 92 years old. He started as a kid working for his Dad, worked with his brothers, sons, and later grandsons. He started with horses and cross cut saws and followed it to modern equipment. He had some great stories.

    Tim, I appreciate your desire to share your logging experience. I feel your pain when you say, "There is no book on logging." To help you, I have decided to write a book on logging. It will be called, "The ABCs of logging: Anyone Can Do it." I have never cut down a tree. However, I now believe I am an expert. My logging experience is watching your videos.
    On a serious note, I do like living vicariously through your experiences. Thanks

    Tim, if you are interested in talking to people in the logging industry. You should contact Mr. Charles Hill from Allentown, Ga. He was the first person to run a processor in the middle Ga. area. He runs a chipper and the processor on the same crew. He buys his own wood and is a super nice guy. He runs his business as Hill Brothers logging.

    I wonder why Bobby would use a clambunk skidder or even the big grapple skidder rather than a large tracked forwarder with a loader? All the logging I’ve seen him do over the years seems to be pretty long skids and you’ve got a loader or two in the swamp and three skidders doing the work a couple forwarders can do.

    What are the benefits to those top load skidders as opposed to a standard grapple y'all got in Mississippi? I'm assuming you keep more of the trees off the ground and more forward all to help with traction and ground compaction but I'm just guessing there lol

    • @jamescarter1500
      @jamescarter1500 5 років тому +1

      Bobby's first clambunk was actually a prototype! Started out as a 630 skidder. Tigarcat took it apart in the center and put the clambunk on the back. Before the bougie tractor's were even for sale I think. I ust to put 17-18 loads a day on it with the shovel and durley would carry it to the hill. They ust to drop the wood out on the hill and a skidder kept the loaders fed. Ole Bobby's the real deal. Goodson to the core

    The 635 is a beast and can haul a massive turn of wood but the clam bunk really brings a turn in when it comes. You don’t know what kind of beating the skidder drivers take until you actually get in the cabs on a shovel road. You didn’t happen to run into any of those big waterheaded copper moccasins while you were there did you?
