In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. Near the end you mentioned the heart fight being on a timer: The most insane A20 Silent run I ever had, I beat the heart with only bronze scales damage. 2x Nightmare + wraith form + bullet time + tungsten rod. It was painfully long (3*16 = 48 damage per 3 turn cycle), but I beat the heart without attacking!
Dead Branch is a silly relic to get right off the bat as Clad. It can be so brokenly powerful that it basically decides the rest of the run for you.

I had a run around a month ago where I was trying to close minimalist achievement on A9 where I was at that moment. I tried to win it with dropkick infinite, I guess it was my 3rd attempt or so. The combo was perfect. Removes were nice, but right at the end of act 3 I got "you begin to fall" event and lost one of my crucial dropkicks. I felt miserable but still decided to go get beaten by Donu instead of abandoning run. And right at the boss, the star of "random bs go!", dead branch, reminded about itself. The only exhausting card in my four card deck shockwave somehow created me 12-15 cards, won me a run and got the achievement. I never laughed so hard playing this game

I love when they ask how he knows so much about the game.. I had a friend say that to me about smite the other day,. Asked how I knew every single gods passive and their range and damage output. It’s because I’ve been playing the same game for 11-12 years…. lol I know every single thing there is to know about that game after thousands of hours. I wouldn’t be surprised if I had more time in that game than Baalor has in this one. You just learn so much about any game after so much time even if you’re someone like me who’s mid and not even a tryhard.

also I swear in the book event I've seen Baalor get Necronomicon like every single time, and the one time we prefer something else it's actually also helpful lmfao... that event loves him

The thing with any of the act 3 bosses with their gimmicks it turns out if you can just do the thing as hard as possible you can out scale the gimmick a lot of the time.
I've watched so many of Baalorlords UA-cam videos, I feel like I need him to narrate my games when I play.
sometimes I hear his voice when playing sts LOL
I find that I genuinely do better if I try to talk out loud what I'm doing, and I often accidentally (subconsciously?) copy his speech mannerisms lol

Mummy hand & dead branch, such a great pair of relics. Have to get really, really unlucky with randomness to lose that. Not so here.
Would be VERY interesting to see a heart kill where only thorns / reflect damage is used.
Apotheosis ( in the bottle) would be great here

I know Wild Strike is normally horrendous, but was there any consideration for it in the Act 1 shop with Medical Kit and FNP? I won't deny that Strike remove was probably correct, but I am curious about Wild Strike's value here. It seems much better than usual.
Much better than usual is such a low bar for wild strike i suspect it's not even worth pursuing

This is the first time I'm personally seeing Mark of Pain being so objectively good, no downsides whatsoever.
Not really. Plenty of turns where'd you'd want to draw a specific card (Barricade, FNP, etc) more than a Wound you have to pay to randomise.
why all the hate for mark of pain? The relic hardly has a downside with ironclads tools especially if you want to keep your cards and need exhaust fodder. Ive never regretted taking it on a20
Same here, though still working towards A20. I feel similarly about Cursed Key - I'll just exhaust it, as long as my deck is doing that already.
Basically didn't need to upgrade at all😂
