West Ham fans chanting at a 'fat lad' in the main stand at Anfield as Liverpool FC beat the hammers 4 nil! (March 6th 2008) Read about this night at www.beforeiforget.co.uk/2008/f...
I was at this game, only a few months after England's failure to qualify for the Euro Championship.Stevie G had to come and take as succession of corner kicks right in front of the West Ham fans who sang," Gerrard ...You let your country down!".His head dropped and he didn't looked too pleased as we sang the same chant 2 corners in a row.Upon getting a 3rd corner, he trudged sheepishly to take it.The West Ham fans sang"Gerrard, Fat Frank let you down!". Stevie G smiled, giving a thumbs up!
I lived in Liverpool for 3 years, wore my hammers shirt all over the place and never got anything but light hearted banter from the locals. Most Liverpool and Everton fans I knew considered West Ham their 'second' team. It's all about the football.
I have to say that having never ever been to a footy match in my life, that was a fun one to be at. Having watched all kinds of American sports I was actually surprised how close you are to the ground in pretty much any seat at Anfield. The game itself was okay, the Liverpool fans weren't that animated surprisingly enough, but the West Ham fans were brilliantly funny and at the end of the game they actually raised their hands at the reds fans and clapped them as well as the players.
@@whiteobama6791 Yep. Still alive and kicking. You can catch up with me via my blog at beforeiforget.co.uk which rather like my youtube, is rarely updated anymore. :-)
Tbh same for me, even though I'm a Liverpool supporter. I live in the Isle of Man, which is a 20 minute plane ride to Liverpool, and my dad is scouse, so it's pretty much the local team and my dad supports them. I'm actually going to the Liverpool vs West Ham match in December
I'm a West Ham fan, but I admire Liverpool' s sense of humour. It's good to see 2 sets of fans enjoying friendly banter. Good luck in CL, hope you demolish Chelsea.
Was at that game/ They sung about that lad about 6 times, it was hilarious. They got so frustrated with their team they were singing 'Everton, Everton, Everton' Fair play to them that night, was some great banter. I always have a lot of time for west ham fans.
I'm west ham and get on well with the Liverpool! Had a good drink with a few of em after the cup final in 2006! Good lads very much like ya northern cockneys! Same as us working class and love ya football and a bit of banter!
@ladieschoice83 Yeah ye fans stayed behind in cardiff that day when we lifted the trophy....the FA cup that ye deserved to win more than us on the day. RESPECT from liverpool fan
@16Whu Based on the fact that last season you brought 500 fans to our place on a weekday night and we brought 3000 to Upton Park also on a weekday night. Top firm though, I'll give you that.
this is what i love about english football....its not just the two teams against each other.............dont see this in any american sport.........yours truly, -yank
I am a West Ham fan and I am from London. Respect to all the Liverpool fans who actually live near or from Liverpool. The thing that annoys me is people who live down south and support northern teams like Liverpool and Man Utd. It's like 400 miles away if not more so why not support someone nearer and local. But anyway we'll see you soon when we play you. Good Luck.
@brikel Thats true about Keegan but those fans who started supporting us in 92 have stuck with us since, despite getting relegated and finishing in the bottom half for years. We have a big fan base, you don't.
Google '5000 fans West Ham Peterborough'. 3.5k in the terrace, and ~1.5k in half the home stand. How about you check your fucking figures... Think the actual amount we brought was 5.2k. 'Hhahaa'.
@iFxSonny95Liverpool only london club that sells out? aha what about spurs, chelsea, arsenal and even fulham at home? i do admit alongside spurs they have the best support though in london
@SuperGeordielegend When we played you at upton park it was a saturday game not a weekday (it was on tv though) ...but yeah we didnt take many to your place based on the fact it was a midweek game just after the new year and we were bottom of the league with a hopeless manager you cannot say west ham have shit fans based on one match if you wanna talk about shit fans you need to look at the likes of wigan , blackburn , bolton , birmingham etc...
@nmemodz Not an excuse lad we sold out every away game in our relegation season despite having a rookie manager a hopeless owners and the inability to win.
Seriously, check your fucking figures. WIgan and Fulham give a whole end to away fans and their allocations are 4,000 and 4,500... But London Road has an away allocation of 5k? Hhahaa.
@SuperGeordielegend I know but at least you lot gave it a go we were down by xmas...ive got alot of respect for Newcastle fans anyway yeah you do sell out every game and i wasn't using it as an excuse for a poor turn out ...but if that was a saturday game we would of sold out ....we have sold out every game this season in the championship weeks before the games
Lookin forward to comin to Upton park soon. The west ham lads are a good laugh, never take the banter too heart and can handle their ale! See you soon hammers!
@ParkLaneTottenham1 There have been 5 sold out games this season, and considering the opposition we've been playing, that isn't too bad. 30,600 average attendance. Again, not too bad. 11th highest in the country, and about 5000 more than anyone else in this league, despite not being the biggest stadium. Best away following in the league too. But don't let facts get in the way of a good opinion. Nice to see lots of empty seats at the Bolton Cup game, by the way.
@brikel Surely if you have such a huge fan base you would have filled our away end last season after all you're fan base is "10 times the fan base" of us.
@SuperGeordielegend 879,000 live on tyneside, there are over 3.5 mill living in west hams catchment area, west ham have 10 times the fanbase you lot have we sell out every game and in a few years will be selling out our new stadium every game, trouble with new fans is they get bored and stop coming

A great bit of banter between the two best sets of fans in the country.
I lived in Liverpool for 3 years, wore my hammers shirt all over the place and never got anything but light hearted banter from the locals. Most Liverpool and Everton fans I knew considered West Ham their 'second' team. It's all about the football.
This is how football should be.. Respect.
Im from sweden and love West Ham United !

Are u still alive?

lot of time for west ham fans. great banter here.
Ahhhh that didn't half make me chuckle.
Respect from an LFC fan. Hope you're back up soon!
We took 6000 to Coventry, still the highest away attendance this season. Had 35,000 multiple times this season.
think west ham fans are the only fans I don't want to throw a brick at
Thats why you gotta love the hammers that have some of the best chants
Respect from Serbia Partizan& Paok& West Ham& Lazio
Tbh same for me, even though I'm a Liverpool supporter. I live in the Isle of Man, which is a 20 minute plane ride to Liverpool, and my dad is scouse, so it's pretty much the local team and my dad supports them. I'm actually going to the Liverpool vs West Ham match in December
i'm hardcore reds-fan, but i kinda like west ham. l'pool and hammers has alot in common. the history and working-class fans + amazing fans!
i love how the guy at the start has torres on his scarf hahaha!
There was 6,300 at Coventry this season. I was one of them. We also took just shy of 5k to Peterborough on a Tuesday night. I was one of them.
Its good too see the 2 best fans in england having a laugh with each other for once :)
Not the two best fans in England West Ham are in the top 3 Liverpool are in the top 25.
@@john-qt1ih Yep, LiVARpool fans are nowhere. West Ham probably in and around the top 5. Bubbles one of the best chants also 👍
West Ham fans are class and so is their club
@markonesa There was a fat person in the Liverpool stand who left 5 minutes before half time. He then returned with a burger in his hand.
Exactly my point. Well said.
@masstransit2 Sorry, speaking using traditional Cockney terms is my own tongue. Am I too assume a string like you talks with the Queens? Righto.
Essex is about 20-30 mins away from Upton Park. A lot closer than southerners supporting MU or LIV who live 6+ hours away.
Kapiwi no West Ham fan can ever be called a glory hunter or plastic. We haven’t won a anything since 1980
Still plastic
@brikel You've never been to Newcastle have you?
olm şurda şu yorumu yapmış olman beni akdumun hollandasında kafam bi dünya ve harbi bozukken mutlu etti ak.. gerçekten yarıldım..
I'm a West Ham fan, but I admire Liverpool'

lol on his scaf says "TORRES"
dream on, we'll have the lot next season
Was at that game/
They sung about that lad about 6 times, it was hilarious.
They got so frustrated with their team they were singing 'Everton, Everton, Everton'
Fair play to them that night, was some great banter.
I always have a lot of time for west ham fans.
fucking brilliant
Love fan banter
I'm west ham and get on well with the Liverpool! Had a good drink with a few of em after the cup final in 2006! Good lads very much like ya northern cockneys! Same as us working class and love ya football and a bit of banter!
@UnionOfJack Yeah I realised that I just assumed it was weekday because it was night time game.
@LE3D4NNY Yeah that was the given allocation, due to trouble in previous European games is my guess.
who were they singing about ?
@TheBobRock57 "He only went for a burger"?
Ill think you will find out we have sold out many times this season and have also taken 6000 away quite a few times this season
True that fella the only blue pubs are on county and the odd one around the local area
Us Hammmers always do sing battles against them lol
@SuperGeordielegend I should probably point out that you played us at our place on a Saturday, still a great turnout though
@ladieschoice83 Yeah ye fans stayed behind in cardiff that day when we lifted the trophy....the FA cup that ye deserved to win more than us on the day. RESPECT from liverpool fan
who are they singing about?

i dont get it..?
@kaarankin69 How loyal they are? I don't think Upton Park has had a single sell-out this season,
hahah top quality guys :)
Never knew Preston had so many Welsh fans...
I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles... UNITED UNITED UNITED XD lol
@nmemodz Fair enough, enjoy the championship its good banter.

Just take a look of Balkan Ultras : Torcida , Delije Sever , Grobari , Bad Blue Boys, and you will see how gret we are !
@brikel Thats true about Keegan but those fans who started supporting us in 92 have stuck with us since, despite getting relegated and finishing in the bottom half for years. We have a big fan base, you don't.

Omg Lool
Your username frightens me.

@zomb1e89 fair play
I am not British. Who ween for his dinner/burger?
I live way up north in Finland. Can I support Liverpool?
Finfrodo no
@LE3D4NNY Aye give me the article.
Google '5000 fans West Ham Peterborough'.
3.5k in the terrace, and ~1.5k in half the home stand. How about you check your fucking figures... Think the actual amount we brought was 5.2k. 'Hhahaa'.
Yh suppose so. But you should support a team in finland as well.
Or you... *Naturally
@JohnTerryLegend26 you'll know it's him because it will say 'MSFRmike's den' on his caravan (y)
Such great supporting there! Just like feyenoord last year, we dont run away when we are playing shit!
@iFxSonny95Liverpool only london club that sells out? aha what about spurs, chelsea, arsenal and even fulham at home? i do admit alongside spurs they have the best support though in london

i never liked scouse as a kid allways wanted to play footy in the street

''whereas if no scousers supported Everton, there numbers would be close to none league football.''
Cant tell if idiot or trolling.
@urigeller87
You don't know what you're talking about mate
@chpuf11 a fan who left his seat.
They talking about Sam Alladyce?
no, about Frank Lampard.
Tried to work that out but failed. Come back when you can put a sentence together
No you cant mieshuora.
@MrBullet4eva Manu and Aston villa :)
Seriously, check your fucking figures. WIgan and Fulham give a whole end to away fans and their allocations are 4,000 and 4,500... But London Road has an away allocation of 5k? Hhahaa.
@sup3rh1k Agreed (y)
@mafiamuffel, no thats the USA.
@brikel You clearly have a bigger fan base when you can only manage to bring 500 to St James'.
i'm a liverpool fan but i like that in away support.. well in west ham
Well they should support southend or Colchester then.
Not sure about this love in with the Mickey's. not for me.
Alla älskar vi Hammers :D

What a nonsense generalisation 🤣🤣🤣

Same up here! I see Man U fans its like 2 hours drive to Manchester from me!
English football is all about passion son, not a post code 👍
@brikel Surely if you have such a huge fan base you would have filled our away end last season after all you're fan base is "10 times the fan base" of us.

Or you could look at it the other way and say that 3 of the biggest teams in Europe exist within 8 miles (2 of them within 4 miles) of West Ham.
@iFxSonny95Liverpool Arsenal have the highest percentage of their seats taken up every season in the league? Well its much higher than Liverpool's...
Neither ground holds above 60k.
well done West Ham for putting the red shite in their place
