Did he sold his soul to a label, or what is that? the last one was also questionable. Very worrying in my opinion, he should just sit down and write meaningful lyrics and take his time, this is just rushed garbage.
I think he’s speaking from the perspective of the rich. Addressing an issue within society. I’d say that’s more meaningful than most. He should keep doing what he is doing. You should stop telling people what to do. Have a good day.
Maybe if you don't understand it, just say that instead of speaking on something that's clearly over your head. This whole rap and video was based on Orwell's novel Animal Farm, where the animals band together to take over the humans, to make a utopia for animals, but instead spiral into corruption by the end, just as bad as humans. It's a very famous novel. Not everything is just trash like mumble rap. And again, if you don't understand it, that's ok, but maybe don't shit on something you don't "get".

@@davidperkins6752 This is an email from Ren. Please do not call me a liar until you have the facts. Filming Animal Flow. Let me set the scene. It’s a cold gloomy British February. A great start to any tale. I’d been sitting on this track Animal Flow for about a month, it has this tribal rolling drum sound, reminiscent of early Kanye production (you’re allowed to say his name again now he said sorry after watching 21 Jump Street) I’ve got this annoying problem where if I’ve created something challenging to create the next thing has to be even more challenging to pull off. We’d just finished filming a series of one take videos for the Sick Boi album, they were a bitch to film, because if anything goes wrong in a shot with only one continuous take all the way through, you have to start again. I love that challenge. It forces me into the moment, you have to be engaging for the entire piece. If a tiny thing goes wrong you have to start again. I sadistically really enjoy the frustration of the entire crew when we shout CUT and have to start the whole bloody thing again. Their little faces sinking into despair fills me with a little warm fuzzy feeling inside every time. “FROM THE TOP! ACTION!” I decided I wanted to make the most ambitious one take video yet. Throw in as many moving parts and as many people into the mix as I could, and even add a little dance choreography. This was before my music had ‘taken off’ and I’d just left my current management, I was pretty broke, so I also had to pull this off with no money. That made it even more exciting. My friend Benny had this apartment that he bought off my Spanish friend Raffa. The parties in this flat were pretty legendary and appropriately full of debauchery. The hallway to the apartment looked like something out of a Kubrick film, and I instantly knew I had to film there. I kept thinking of the movie Eyes Wide Shut. I turned to Benny one afternoon and asked what he thought about me turning his apartment into a jungle. He smiled, he agreed. Me, Benny and a few friends headed out into a cold February night in the early hours of the morning dressed in black, with some gardening shears, a hatchet, and some bin bags. We spent hours hacking at overhanging weeds, ivy, whatever we could find, filling up bin bags. What I didn’t know, but found out during the Texas plant-saw massacre is that Benny used to be a botanist. He told me the Latin names for each of the plants we mercilessly shoved inside the bin bags. What we definitely didn’t do for legal reasons was borrow some unusual looking exotic plants from a botanical garden at 1am. We returned to the apartment and spent the remainder of the night Covering the walls in plants. Ivy - or to use its Latin name - Hedera Hibernica - looks great parcel taped to a white wall. We then created a makeshift torture rack out of a clothes rail, painted the bathroom in faux blood, and filled the bathtub with red jelly, naturally. The whole apartment took a few days to totally transform into a magic mushroom Orwellian fever dream, it was perfect. I had acquired about 80 latex animal masks and a gorilla suit from amazon, and acquired about 80 friends and friends of friends insane enough to agree to take part in the shoot. What ensued was hours of pure chaos, an apartment hall littered in people in latex animal masks while horrified looking neighbours walked nervously passed. You’d walk out into the hallway and see a man in a wedding dress with an ostrich mask riding a lowrider BMX over the carpet. Walk into another room and people in Dog masks playing poker were doing shots of tequila and smoking menthol cigarettes. Everything was going exactly as I intended Somehow, during the chaos, we managed to film a music video. Sure it was about 4am when we got the final take, and we’d started filming at about 7pm, but that’s not the point, we got the shot. My friends left, scarred and broken shells of who they used to be, and I left with one hell of a music video. Animal Flow drops at 8pm BST on Thursday 4th May I hope to see you all here for the Premier!
The writing on the wall is from George Orwell's Animal Farm. "All animals are equal" thanks to the pigs became "Some animals are more equal than others".
There are so many callbacks and references to Orwells Animal farm. He took alcohol at the end served by an animal walked out watching animals eat animals and then started walking with a cane - 3 legs. In between the good and evil in Animal farm. So much is a callback to the end of Hi Ren when he talks about humans are between angels demons and gods. 3 legs are between gods (in the novel animals decided they were gods humans were demons). The cane and white outfit is certainly a callback to Clockwork Orange. It also might be almost a cut against Kubrick because he was known for taking massive numbers of retakes on single scenes. iirc the one single scene in the shining had 148 retakes. This was one take done in a day. You have a dog leading a sheep to slaughter when dogs are used to herd and protect sheep but then you have another sheep coming right up the stairs to the other that is being lead to slaughter. I can't even imagine the amount of time and planning and thought that went into this Last thought: If I had to walk backwards down stairs holding a cane over my head while singing you're more than welcome to come to my funeral

Ren is a master collaborator. He is excellent at working with other artists. He has an open mind, he isn't controlled by his ego, he is driven by the ideas, art, his pain and expression. ❤❤❤
@@88craggle he didn't have a budget he says in his comments they borrowed most of the plants at 1am from a local garden centre and cut the rest from local area with hedge trimmers he'd just split from his management and was skint 😂
In twitch he was commenting on busking vs big venues. He us definitely planning on Glastonbury next year. He says he'll let us know how this feels. He LOVES the stage. If he could just take off the extras afterwards 😢. He also loves the intimacy and downs to earth reality of busking.
He pre-recorded the new album and shot the music video for them last year then slowly releases it through out 2023 knowing it would take him time for medical treatment in Canada. The new album Sickboi is said to have 16 tracks, some have music video to themselves and some do not, and he has released 4/16 tracks including Hi Ren, Sick Boi, Illest of our time and Animal Flow (Bittersweet Symphony is a retake so it does not count and will not be included in the album) so yes, there’re a lot more to come this year😆 Update: Ren said he’s working on an extra track while in Canada, so we will have 17 iso 16:) I also can not comprehend his level of creativity and productivity considering the fact he has so much stuffs to deal with in life and he has to do mostly everything all by himself when it comes to his music😂 Ren’s an animal for sure
He is paying tribute to cult film classics ..Animal Farm being the main theme based with scenes from these classics like The Shining (girl on bike in hallway) Witches of Eastwick ( 3 girls round Rens feet ) A clockwork orange ( dressed in white with a cane ) Silence of the Lambs ( cannibal stair scene with lamb ) the chocolate factory (the beat ) Wind in the willows and creature from the black lagoon ( bathroom scene toad and creature in bath ) All cult classical movies.. Im sure there are more .. this is a piece of art ..nice reaction
Yeah, in the Knox Hill interview he said they hid a ton of things in the background for people to find to have fun w/ it. ya'll are a lot better at catching them than me though.
If you haven’t, definitely listen to his latest interview with Justin Hawkins…very insightful into the man and artist that is Ren. What’s crazy is, he said after this year he’s gonna focus on singing and doing that type of music and that essentially him being a rapper will be done with…He said he always wanted to do a Rap album just to say he did one because he’s always dabbled in it, and that’s what this is…So enjoy Rap Ren for as long as we have him because he will be turning that page soon.
He said before there was 16 songs to the sick boi album this was the next now there is 15 to go over this year then he is doing something diffrent so these 15 to go will be hip hop/rap
@@adrienne1958l Yes I agree. I don't think Ren has his future so mapped out to be honest. I think he'll follow his muse in whatever direction it's taking him at the time.
Some neighbours complained as it was nearly midnight and they were rehearsing 😂 Ren doesn't mind filming late to get it right. Animal Farm meets Clockwork Orange vibe International. George Orwell and Stanley Kubric two of Ren's favourites. He recorded tracks before leaving for Canada. Not sure how many. Great reaction 🙏🙏🙏
The video was shot in February 2022 (so more than a year ago), he recorded them even before I guess. Basically he was sitting on top of these for a while, all the videos has been shot last year (he said he doesn't have videos for 16 songs that will be in the album, but he has it for most of them). He is probably working on the next album now when he has time which will be a guitar based album rather than hiphop, but he said he will release a Demos 3 EP sometime which can include rap songs that did not make into this album.
Ren stated in an interview that because of his health currently he wouldn't tour this year but is hoping to do festivals next year to bring his music to his fans
Ren is a master collaborator. He is excellent at working with other artists. He has an open mind, he isn't controlled by his ego, he is driven by the ideas, art, his pain and expression. ❤❤❤
The main inspiration for this video is "Animal Farm" by Orwell and the movie "Clockwork Orange" by Kubric of which he is a big fan. He directed it and yes is a one shot, the "actors" were friends and friends of friends and yea it took some time and weird looks by the neighbours haha. Video is shot in Brighton in a friends apartment last february (2022).
I believe he made all these before Canada ready to go. This is all around George Orwell’s Animal Farm. The words on the wall are from the book. The 2 pigs are the ones who rise up and take over. Fantastic video and music.
Great reaction! Love that Ren has the freedom to make music his way. There were several videos that he made prior to going to Canada. It's an amazing video and a fascinating glimpse into the mind of Ren!
Ren has been working at a Van Gogh pace. I hope he can maintain and sustain at even a fraction of this. I hope he is that artist that can resolve the tensions between struggle, creativity, integrity, and success. Betting he will.
Thank you - really enjoyed your reaction. For someone like me who grew up reading George Orwell's 'Animal Farm' - this is a work of complete genius. It's not more than I expect from Ren now. I'm finding it difficult to listen to anyone else now, no matter what genre I'm after. Ren pretty much has it covered...
Thank you for reacting to anything by Ren. Bisecting or dissecting Ren's brain may be too much of a challenge for normal human beings. Be careful and just use your imagination. Yes it's Animal Farm, one of my most favorite books I have read since I was 12 years old! Many other references. I would love to be inside Ren's brain, for a few minutes, is that enough time? would I come back out myself again? Will Ren's brain explain my thoughts as well as his. I feel a commonality with him that sometimes scares me but mostly excites and thrills me. Ren is amazing, I always wondered also the mind of George Orwell from some of his books. When younger not much made sense now that I am a senior citizen, a lot more makes sense from my education, reading a lot and other observations.
He recorded this in Brighton, UK. at a friend's place, over a year ago. (Jan. 2022) He's still in Canada right now. He talked about it on his live stream after the video dropped (on Twitch).
Ren had a bunch of songs already recorded and filmed before going to Canada for treatment, so that he could slowly release them while he's unable to create music and videos there.
This is such an intricate production (production, lyrics, visuals) all the way to the simplest snare hit and bass drop exactly 1 second apart referencing the tick tock of a clock "A Clockwork Orange" and his inspiration for the character in the video, Alex DeLarge and it all ties in to the book Animal Farm and character Alex DeLarge's treatment while under state rehabilitation. This is just unreal how detailed it gets.
Loved watching you watch this, seeing your mind ticking over at the videography and artistry. It's genuinely lovely to see how excited you get by things that are different and creative and surprise you. And Ren is definitely full of surprises!
It is all Ren. The production, the directing, the music, the beats. It is also low budget, these are all friends and friends of friends that help him make these videos. This was done in Brighton before he went to Canada. Much of this info comes from a two hour live stream he did on Twitch after this dropped (part of it is on replay, but the 1st part was lost). He also did an interview with Justin Hawkins earlier this week and he mentioned his longer term ambition is to make movies (create, produce, direct, act).
Being a 65 yr old Ren always reminds me of Pink Floyd. Comfortably Numb, Animals album (based on Animal Farm) etc......Check out -One Of These Days - Pink Floyd Pulse concert, great pigs. So I'm a true fan. I think he has a depth of thought as Roger Waters. Glad to see a new artist who can do that and be timeless.
So many references, and yes, he reinterprets lyrics from other songs. "I don’t show no signs of slowing" in Everybody Drops, then "Never slowing, just growing and flowing with intricate lines" in Animal Flow. Some are intentional, like Blind Eyed and Penitence, some probably not, but it is fun when you catch them.
Great reaction, but as said, what you read on the wall is from the Novel by George Orwell "Animal Farm. It's a giant satire based on the Russian revolution. on how it started as Communism, but evolved into Stalinism, Basically the pigs on the farm are fed up of being exploited, and revolt. The animals kick the humans of the farm and take over The pigs then make 7 Commandments that all animals must follow. That's what you read on the wall 😊
Ren wrote a comment under another reaction and said about the video creation process, and I quote: "I direct and conceptualise my videos, usually by having base ideas, and then talking about them over and over again with my friends until they grow and develop, I always think feedback helps the creative process a lot!" Also: Video was recorded in february 2022 in brighton. All with his friends as actors of this video.
This is based on George Orwell’s book Animal Farm…at least the 7 commandments on the wall are. From the web: “What moral lesson does Animal Farm teach? Power can induce corruptibility The book echoes the idea that all power can contain an element of corruptibility. Perhaps the leaders, the pigs Napoleon and Snowball, started out well-meaning, however once they realized that all of the animals listened to them without thinking, they started to abuse their power.”
He has this 16 track album ready and recorded, and videos all shot. He prepared because he was warned his treatment would debilitate him. He’s now writing the final track to the album in Canada because a new idea came to him
He is sitting on several songs/videos. This song was filmed in Brighton. If you pay attention at the very end of the song when he stands with the cain to the right is where he and Sam Tomkins perform walking on the moon and other songs..
He has mentioned in posts before that he has recorded an entire rap album, with videos already shot for all of the tracks and he is slowly releasing them all throughout this year. He is not rushing random stuff out just to ride his new popularity, all of this has been prepared for a long time.
Love the strings of gel on the arms of the masked girls in the bath! It’s a brilliant touch in an incredibly original piece of musical art. It gets in your (my) head and disjointed phrases & scenes replay A LOT! Which happens with almost all Ren’s music & videos, jeez, sometimes I even dream it! Then again, maybe it’s because I’m ...a bit weird. Don’t care, I love REN!
It's so interesting that he starts off (and ends) with this Willy Wonka/Kingpin personification. Is it me or did he sound irritated maybe even angry? He sure is showing his teeth. Don't mess with Ren! He's a beast, not just talented but so skilled (not just what he pulls of with his voice, the lyrics, the pop culture references, the vibes, the overall look,..) bruh I can't even..
Ren said on his interview with Justin Hawkins that he hopes to create a musical type of television show/program/special... something like that, when he finishes his treatment. He also wants to make an album with more focus on his singing and guitar skills. His dream though, is to continue creating and having a platform. He is smart by keeping his political views ambiguous in his songs. Why alude to what you really believe and stand for in a way that gets you attacked. His music appeals to people. People who are suffering, poor, struggling... he is appealing to inspire hope. He spoke of the Venus Project during that interview with Justin Hawkins, so I really think Ren is a visionary, futurist, as am I. I dream of a world where technology has uplifted people to beyond struggling for the basics. A world where people aren't stuck in survival mode. Would crime even exist in that world? Freedom and the world alliance built on the respect, but an agreement on the mutual and equitable use of global resources, so as to optimise and preserve nature. Everybody should be given suitable, green and healthy homes, healthy food options, with real nutrition, an at home treatment facility run by AI, but completely privat to each user, for we should each have our own server to host our own private AI assistant. The only way to protect society from full on mind control. When people wake up, work togerher and unite, we start coming up with real solutions, and with real freedom. Societies should all have a liquid democracy, so as to stomp out political corruption. Lets have people working toward improving our lives and the lives of our children. What are we so scared of?
Don’t know what you’re smoking pal but it must be some real good shit. AI is more likely to kill us all than anything else which is why people who really know what they’re talking about are terrified of it. We already know for certain that it lies and even more terrifyingly we don’t understand how it works.
The stuff painted on the wall in the beginning is the seven commandments in Animal Farm by Orwell. The whole thing is kind of the progression of the book but also can be connected to real world problems now. This bro is a genius like just flat out
Thanks for the reaction! I’m really enjoying watching the reactions to Animal Flow because I’m getting new things each time I watch and listen. I don't wanna hear any arguments! Especially since it's My opinion!!!
great react as always Anthony. I think the title Animal Flow is effectively a triple, at least. His flow is animalistic; his ambition is (as you say) animalistic; but he's also specifically rapping about Animal Farm; and beyond that, he's extending the theme of Animal Farm into his character in the video. Namely, after watching this a bunch, I think he's describing someone who is effectively the tyrant in capitalism and society - he's embodying the character of a social "animal." From there, I think it's hard to tell where the line is on whether he's trying to play a character or he's talking about himself, but it's probably both to a degree.
First off Time and Time is quality bro 👊. Ren does seem to do call backs with lines /themes or song titles for being referenced. As example this holds a number including A Murderous Mind from Crucify your Culture. The video seems to mix Animal Farm (George Orwell) A Clockwork Orange (Suit and Cane) and for me at least a little Gene Wilder as willy Wonka (The stagger at the end with the cane). There is so much to break down in this.... But even without fully getting it, it's an absolute tune. Give it a listen a few times then rewatch the video I think your get even more out of it that way.
Found you through your Ren reactions whicha😂are fantastic by the way❤❤❤. It has been interesting watching the multiple reaction to this song and noting that some dont pick up on the 1984 references (even i didn't and i studied it in high school!!!), but we watch these reactions to see what interpretation the reactor will have on the song, and there is no WRONG reaction as we are all individuals with different life experiences. As has already been commented all the new stuff is from the Sick Boi ALBUM that he prepped and recorded last year knowing that he was going to be in Canada this year. I am personally going to enjoy the video for the art that it is and enjoy the song separately for the art it is, the two together gets all muddled together for this old brain to take in 😂. Keep up the awesome reactions!!!!
The whole MV is a referance to George Orwell's novel "Animal Farm" the writings on the wall is straight from it. But people need to remember that this is a low budget project, he puplished pictures of him and his friends collecting plants from streets😅 he is a genius I enjoyed ur reaction ❤
This apartment building is right across the street from where Ren and Sam sang their 'Earned It / Mans World' and so many other great videos in front of that church. This was filmed in February 2022, according to Ren in his Twitch stream after the premier.
I believe what makes you think about J&S tales is the white corridor, like in Violet's tales. I recently asked myself how could he calculate things so well from the moment he stops in the corridor of the hospital (lyrics: and he was a little prick) to the moment he arrives under the stairs (which made me thinks about stairway to heaven, but she is at the bottom and "the devil come to dance")
Thanks for this great reaction Anthony! Loved sharing the ride with you, and your interpretations. See you on the next one, and have a great day! PS. The whole Sick Boi album was pre-recorded prior to his treatment in Canada (from what I gathered). 🤯
I hope someone in your comments has pointed out that the animals “rules” written on the wall are from the book Animal Farm, by George Orwell! Love your reactions to REN, you get his incredible ability, I think he is a genius! Love Annie, in Cornwall, UK🙂🌸
The concept and writing on the wall is Animal Farm, with some clockwork orange twisted in there…and I wonder if the pig in all his videos refer to Animal Farm pigs. Yes one take. He put out description and trailer for this video He is soooo talented
It's recorded in Brighton, actually right across from where he used to go busking with his band the big push! If you pay attention you can see the building in the background on the right...
He recorded them in Brighton before going to Canada - in Animal Flow when he goes outside you see the church where he busked outside as part of The Big Push. He probably did post production in Calgary
He definitely wants to tour. He loves playing live. Whether it's busking on the street or playing to a stadium. He's just stuck in Canada getting treatment at the moment but he said next year for sure he'll play Glastonbury and definitley tour...
Really good questions. There is a story on his community page about filming this. I think you got the picture from others - it was done at his friend's flat back home before he left for Canada. It seems he prepared a lot of material before going to Canada and has been putting it through the production mode that he can do in his bedroom while going through treatments and release one song at a time. He's doing it right!!! Keeping us entertained and keeping his spirits high by still being able to do what he loves, at the pace that is doable for him.
Great reaction. He said that he tried to record enough to have stuff to drop while he's getting treatment... sadly that's bound to run out since he'd gone into it thinking he'd be in Canada for 3-6 months and now he's looking at maybe as long as a year.
Its the Kings Coronation tomorrow in the UK, I can't help but wonder, if the timing of the release of this, had anything to do with that, "Your an illegitimate king of this crown"
Its a fascinating video, very creative, edgy, and full of hidden nuances! I read Animal Farm moons ago and it definitely is a strong influence! But I also get Clockwork Orange and Willy Wonka vibes! Love the jungle drum beats and the tension build-up throughout! It is such a creative work! Loved your interpretation and I agree with it! 😊😊
Animal Farm, where all animals are equal, BUT some are more equal than others. You can find this book in FILM here on YT. The 1950's animated version is amazing and the 90's version is good too with real actors. Its a story that MUST be absorbed and passed on to future generations. Love that Ren used this book for his song. XOXOX LOVE that he also used A Clockwork Orange and some Willie Wonka too. If you know those stories.. the song makes more sense.

Filming Animal Flow.
Let me set the scene.
It’s a cold gloomy British February.
A great start to any tale.
I’d been sitting on this track Animal Flow for about a month, it has this tribal rolling drum sound, reminiscent of early Kanye production (you’re allowed to say his name again now he said sorry after watching 21 Jump Street)
I’ve got this annoying problem where if I’ve created something challenging to create the next thing has to be even more challenging to pull off. ACTION!”
I decided I wanted to make the most ambitious one take video yet.
Everything was going exactly as I intended
Somehow, during the chaos, we managed to film a music video. Sure it was about 4am when we got the final take, and we’d started filming at about 7pm, but that’s not the point, we got the shot. My friends left, scarred and broken shells of who they used to be, and I left with one hell of a music video.
Animal Flow drops at 8pm BST on Thursday 4th May
I hope to see you all here for the Premier!
I can't even imagine the amount of time and planning and thought that went into this
Last thought: If I had to walk backwards down stairs holding a cane over my head while singing you're more than welcome to come to my funeral
Thanks for those added comments, plus that humour at the end 😂. ... I totally missed the three-legged nuance. 👍
Wow. On point! 🙏👍

One of the coolest things ive learned about this video. All are Rens friends, no paid actors. As ren says just his mates
Ren is a master collaborator. He is excellent at working with other artists. He has an open mind, he isn't controlled by his ego, he is driven by the ideas, art, his pain and expression. ❤❤❤
The budget for this was probably nothing compared too mainstream artists, but the end product just blows my mind. Bloody superb ❤
@@88craggle he didn't have a budget he says in his comments they borrowed most of the plants at 1am from a local garden centre and cut the rest from local area with hedge trimmers he'd just split from his management and was skint 😂
His gf Jess made an awesome girrila!
The new album Sickboi is said to have 16 tracks, some have music video to themselves and some do not, and he has released 4/16 tracks including Hi Ren, Sick Boi, Illest of our time and Animal Flow (Bittersweet Symphony is a retake so it does not count and will not be included in the album) so yes, there’re a lot more to come this year😆
Update: Ren said he’s working on an extra track while in Canada, so we will have 17 iso 16:)
I also can not comprehend his level of creativity and productivity considering the fact he has so much stuffs to deal with in life and he has to do mostly everything all by himself when it comes to his music😂 Ren’s an animal for sure
This is most accurate comment on album, I think.
@@francesdoll4039 Accurate? 3 of 16? 1. Hi Ren, 2. Sick Boi, 3. Illest of Our Time, 4. Animal Flow... ?
Pretty sure Hi Ren is also on the album, so, 4 out of 16.
Abd he is working today on one last song to add...fir punch, cuz he's rogue.
@@Corvid76 you are right! And today he posted that he is adding one more...because he's rogue! Finishing it now.
Build the list of visuals and keep adding to it please. I did a list of beast references from 'losing it' found 19
Yeah, in the Knox Hill interview he said they hid a ton of things in the background for people to find to have fun w/ it. ya'll are a lot better at catching them than me though.
I know he said he was going to do more singing after this album ect . , but I don't think he said he would be done rapping " forever " .
@@adrienne1958l Yes I agree. I don't think Ren has his future so mapped out to be honest. I think he'll follow his muse in whatever direction it's taking him at the time.
Gotta disagree, his personality sure ain’t broken. This is the man who stood in the flames that cremated his brains and did not flinch or shake.
@@supertuscans9512 💯💯💯
Some neighbours complained as it was nearly midnight and they were rehearsing 😂 Ren doesn't mind filming late to get it right.
Animal Farm meets Clockwork Orange vibe International. George Orwell and Stanley Kubric two of Ren's favourites.
He recorded tracks before leaving for Canada. Not sure how many.
Great reaction 🙏🙏🙏
The entire Sick Boi album is complete, I think there are 12 more songs, dont know how many will have a video.
Yeah he has the psychopathic, perfectionist movie director drive I think :)
Animal farm. Orwell
i think he's got a lot of stuff saved up to release periodically, i've never anticipated new music like this before haha
He finished his album, and videos, and went to Canada for 6 months of treatment, releasing the vids periodically.
Orwells Animal Farm in a one-take musical edition 🔥🔥🔥 Love it! And, love your reaction. You captures a lot of detail. Thank you ❤
The 7 rules are from Animal Farm by George Orwell its a powerful read. Short but stays with you.
Ren talks about the making of this video in his interview with Justin Hawkins. Brilliant interview, Ren is an amazing human being
You said it... Ren is dangerous...
Dangerously talented 🔥🔥🔥
Haven't heard/seen anything 'bad' from him nor from The Big Push
I believe he made all these before Canada ready to go. This is all around George Orwell’s Animal Farm. The words on the wall are from the book. The 2 pigs are the ones who rise up and take over. Fantastic video and music.
You should watch the awesome interview that Justin Hawkins did with Ren a few days ago. He reveals a lot about himself and his music.
Great reaction! Love that Ren has the freedom to make music his way. There were several videos that he made prior to going to Canada. It's an amazing video and a fascinating glimpse into the mind of Ren!
This video was recorded in a friend’s apartment. He recorded all the music videos for this album before he left for Canada.
I still can't decide if it's the lyrics or the video, that is the most insane part.
He's a freaking genius.
It’s a tribute to Orwells Animal Farm.. mixed with clock work💕🤯
So many references, and yes, he reinterprets lyrics from other songs.
The 7 rules are directly from George Orwell Animal Farm... it's basically Animal Farm meets A Clockwork Orange. With a tribal beat box beat.
The writting on the wall is the rules the animals make in George Orwell’s Animal Farm
Ren wrote a comment under another reaction and said about the video creation process, and I quote:
"I direct and conceptualise my videos, usually by having base ideas, and then talking about them over and over again with my friends until they grow and develop, I always think feedback helps the creative process a lot!"
Also: Video was recorded in february 2022 in brighton. All with his friends as actors of this video.
This is based on George Orwell’s book Animal Farm…at least the 7 commandments on the wall are.
From the web:
“What moral lesson does Animal Farm teach?
Power can induce corruptibility
The book echoes the idea that all power can contain an element of corruptibility.
He’s now writing the final track to the album in Canada because a new idea came to him
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Anthony your track is
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Edit: had to fix the 🔥
He is sitting on several songs/videos.
Yes, Ray, he has 16 song album coming out later this year, he pre recorded loads before going to Canada. He is crazy right. Love your reactions 😮
He is the definition of "Otherworldly" I've been obsessed since 1st viewing "Hi Ren" and cannot get enuff 🎉
REN said that he's written enough songs to release another entire album before he would have to start writing more.
Incredible "Animal Farm 'a la WW3" references.
I love this "temporary beat"!
Been humming "Animal Flow" all week 😃
His vocal inflections are always so energetic
The writing on the wall is the 7 rules in George Orwell's book Animal farm.
The video and lyrics are thought provoking and it’s amazing to think all done in the one take. Loved the back story Ren shared on his YT channel about this shoot.
Need to go and look for your Fire reaction- one of my favourite tracks on Freckled Angels!!
Ren is without Any Doubt... the New GOAT in My Opinion!!!! To be Compared to No One!!! He's on his Own Level... by himself.. for real!!!
It's Mine... Relax!!!
Based on his sheer talent, abilities... there's Zero Doubt in my mind he's surpassed Em already!
Based on His Musical, Lyrical and Performance talents, Creativity... YES... He is Definitely Beyond even Em's abilities! Period!
Again... MY OPINION!!!
PS.. if ya haven't watched his whole catalog like Ocean, Humble, Life is Funny, Crucify your Culture, Blind Eyed, etc... I don't wanna hear any arguments!
Especially since it's My opinion!!!
Love all your reactions! Thanks Anthony.
This is a great song and a tribute to the book Animal Farm by George Orwell where animals rebelled and took over control.
great react as always Anthony.
Give it a listen a few times then rewatch the video I think your get even more out of it that way.
incredibly interesting > fascinating person sharing so much and improving this world
Ren had his friends over and filmed this in one night. It is all done by himself, he is 100% sheer talent!
But people need to remember that this is a low budget project, he puplished pictures of him and his friends collecting plants from streets😅 he is a genius
I enjoyed ur reaction ❤
whole song is George Orwell's Animal Farm an I shocked how manny people didn't pass english Lit. Flew right over there heads.
Man!!! Really appreciate you and your take on things. I went down the Ten rabbit hole and now i am watching all your reactions. Keep up the good work
This apartment building is right across the street from where Ren and Sam sang their 'Earned It / Mans World' and so many other great videos in front of that church.
He definitely acknowledges his part in the money game. That's what he's referencing at the end of sick boy.
The most badass song!! Ren. Just amazing!!
Friggen Brilliant!!! Based on George Orwells Animal Farm novel!!!
WOW!!!!!
BEYOND BRILLIANT!!!!
He put out description and trailer for this video
He is soooo talented
It's recorded in Brighton, actually right across from where he used to go busking with his band the big push! If you pay attention you can see the building in the background on the right...
I love this video . Those who do the filming are wonder !! ❤
He recorded them in Brighton before going to Canada - in Animal Flow when he goes outside you see the church where he busked outside as part of The Big Push. He probably did post production in Calgary
Wih any music its what you get from it no right or wrong this has so many layers its fun hearing something different each time.
Clicked on this so fast ❤️ #Ren
He definitely wants to tour. He loves playing live. Whether it's busking on the street or playing to a stadium. He's just stuck in Canada getting treatment at the moment but he said next year for sure he'll play Glastonbury and definitley tour...
The words on the wall are the animals manifesto fron the book animal farm by George Orwell.
Ren - Love Music Part 3
The flow in this one is ridiculous
Great reaction. He said that he tried to record enough to have stuff to drop while he's getting treatment... sadly that's bound to run out since he'd gone into it thinking he'd be in Canada for 3-6 months and now he's looking at maybe as long as a year.
It does look like the same building as the Jenny and screech video. Even the stairwell looks the same. Good spotting!
You're not wrong man. He's super interesting! Top reaction again, appreciated.
Amazing song. Awesome reaction. Its honestly hard to fully understand such creativity.
Its the Kings Coronation tomorrow in the UK, I can't help but wonder, if the timing of the release of this, had anything to do with that, "Your an illegitimate king of this crown"
Ren defo puts callback bars in every track. Sometimes even call forwards like in What You Want where he mentions Hi Ren's schizophrenic conversation
Illest of our time is full of them.
Oh yah!!! When you listen to Ren's songs you'll hear many things he's referenced in past songs!!
Hes the king of lyrical Easter Eggs!!
Great down to earth reaction. Ren is something special
Grüsse. Ren is the artist of our time.the world is sick ... he´s also. This guzy is awesome....and I say this as a metalhead from the 80ies!!!
It was based off the Orwellian novel Animal Farm about how power and greed and corruption can change a person or in that case an animal into a human
There's a lot of inspiration from George Orwells book Animal Farm in a lot of Ren's work, but in this tune he went all in.
Loving your reactions and really love your music my dude 😎🔥🌹🔥🌹🔥🌹🔥🌹
Total reference to Animal Farm. That loops the loop.
I love that he played off Orwell's Animal Farm!
