There are so many British cultural references in this song and clip! Animal farm quotes on the wall, A Clockwork Orange visuals and lyrical implications...just scorching!!!!
Right at the beginning of the Vid look at the writing on the wall. It's the biggest clue where he's going with the song. It based on George Orwell's "Animal Farm" A satire based on the Russian Revolution. The writing on the wall are the 7 rules with Pigs help, the animals agreed on after taking over the farm from the Humans 😊
Lot's of references to Animals Farm by Orwell but I also think there were some Clockwork Orange influences in there (white suit, cane etc) and of course the "dum-daa, dum-daa" and walk at the end remind me of Willy Wonka.
In the first verse Ren uses a bit of British slang that Americans might not know and that word is Booky, Booky is someone acting strange or weird ( you're acting booky bruv) or it can be referred to a place being strange or weird ( That house is booky)
Yep Ren did all of the beatboxing and the beats. He said that this album (Sick Boi) is focused on his rap / hip hop. And he’s already starting to work on the next album that will be his singer/songwriter guitar/piano music. This time he wanted each to stand on their own, rather than do a hybrid of styles. I’m excited for both! The video is strongly influenced by George Orwell’s Animal Farm (on the wall at the beginning you will see lines from the book “Four legs good, two legs bad”), with a touch of Clockwork Orange and Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut. It was filmed in one take and he got about 70 of his friends to help out. In the description, he talks about the process.
...the video is fire too. Imagery. Your reaction clarified a few things. Great. I'm intrigued and apprehensive of what hes about, but another perspective is always good. He is amazingly talented. PEACE Y'all...👍☝️☝️🎇🤓
I just caught another line because you paused ... 'animal skins, over my shoulders like bling, they will be clothing my sins...' damn the way he manipulates the pitch and volume in lockstep with the cadence changes... along with the slightly behind and pitched up harmonics ... d'damn Love the 'yumyumyum' in the pauses in the phrases after the nursery rhyme schemes I think if you haven't read Animal Farm AND watched A Clockwork Orange (the main influences I've found in this) you're going to miss some of the references and alliteration.
The idea for this is based on Orwell´s Animal Farm. On the wall, at the beggining of the video, you can read The Seven Commadments at the farm, which were, finally, 'condense' into one: "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others"
Easter EGGS - famous painting the dogs playing poker, also in the kitchen behind the butcher is a head swinging back and forth which is a throwback to Hi Ren., also something else everyone missed I caught is that in the begining he is using his cane as a metronome ( a device to keep time with music ) as a musician its something I caught.
Really cool reaction Nick, enjoyed it and yeah brother can do no wrong in our eyes, we enjoy, we bop, we sing, we cry and above all we think and feel! thanks man - looking forward to the next ah man it is so cool right now
How were you so fast with this? Animal farm, Orwell all over this He has been blessing us with three hours Twitch stream including an unplugged concert My day was made
The thing i love most about ren is that he pushes our brains. He was literally patiently waiting to blow up before he really let loose with his lyrical talent and im very very much hwre for it. And i think we've just scratched the surface of what hes gonna do
These recent songs are from his Hip Hop album Sick Boi. He said on his livestream today that his next album will be all about the singing. Love this one and all your Ren reactions.
Bisecting Ren's brain may be too much of a challenge for normal human beings. Be careful and just use your imagination. Yes it's Animal Farm, one of my most favorite books I have read since I was 12 years old! I would love to be inside Ren's brain, for a few minutes, is that enough time? would I come back out myself again? Will Ren's brain explain my thoughts as well as his. I feel a commonality with him that sometimes scares me but mostly excites and thrills me. Ren is amazing, I always wondered also the mind of George Orwell from some of his books. When younger not much made sense now that I am older citizen, a lot more makes sense from my education and observation.
Yo, this entire video is based on George Orwells book “animal Farm”. Check out the rules from the book written on the whiteboard in the opening scene. Watch Knox Hill’s reaction to this video to catch the meaning behind this entire video…. !🔥🔥
When you get left enough we believe in guns and revolution, but never for Tr**p, this entire song is a declaration of understanding to the book Animal Farm read it.
This is part of the "sick boi" album and this is basically a rap/hip hop album. Next album will be more guitar centric again. That is what he said on twitch today.
Yesssss! Album?? This is my first time hearing this. I’m here for it! Can’t wait for the whole album! Is he just releasing each song slowly until it’s all out?
Just saying keep doing you. You seem authentic and you are my favorite... Responder? You have more depth than the others so I cannot call you a reactor.
The very base beat on this is so heavily metronomic that it really makes his cadence and flow changes shine and turns the rest into a wonderfully unsettling ornamentation
Ren picks great themes to work his magic on, always thought provoking and current both lyrically and musically. Thank you, Ren for another unique sound and skillfully placed lyrics and top-notch choreography, and videography. Essentially the entire package! Thanks to the analysis, it helps hearing a different perspective.
Ya missed the Righting on the wall it explained a lot bro it’s based on the book Animal Farm when animals rise up. Ren is a riddler gotta look for signs visually
Waging war on the "capitol" (seat of government) could be also be "capital" (assets, the basis of capitalism). In The Hunger Ren holds up his fist as anti-capitalist rebel.
I don't think Ren is "radical" left, except maybe here in the U.S. where people think the Dems are left of center, but he for sure leans left, I mean this video, depending on who you ask was either based on, influenced by, or a tip of the hat to George Orwell's Animal Farm. With George Orwell himself being a staunch Socialist, who opposed and spoke out against McCarthyism and anti-communists propaganda in Europe and the U.S. But he realized how wrong communism could go too, in large part by watching Stalin rise to power. Which Animal Farm is an allegorical story, with villain of the story representing Stalin. Also when he says attack the capitol, I don't think he means a specific place or location, "the capitol" or capitol, especially in Europe, is the system, or wealth and power, relating to capitalism.
The writing on the wall at the beginning is from Animal Farm - George Orwell's book about animals rebelling against the farmer to create a better life for animals only to have the revolution taken over by the pigs for their own purposes. It was originally about communism but it had a much wider message.
Visual sheep to slaughter led by wolf. Also animal flow. Flow/wolf backwards? What about illegitimate king? Who’s that ref any rulers of late come to mind? How about anyone hear anything bout drinking blood or eating the flesh of small….. these days? Anyone?
So much in this video smacks of George Orwell's Animal Farm. I could be wrong but I think it may have been an influence in the creation. I know this is gonna sound crazy but I'm 70 years old and never listened to rap before Ren. It's obvious he's very well read and one hell of a poet. That in itself is all it takes to capture my attention. This kid is about to really take off.
Like I'm going to cry but I also think I want to do a reaction to your reaction because you BDNF'd a lot of connections in my brain. I was the first openly autistic person elected to government in US history and there's a reason you don't know me. But I'm happy to find you. We are similar thinking.
Ren is without Any Doubt... the New GOAT in My Opinion!!!! To be Compared to No One!!! It's Mine... Relax!!! Based on sheer talent, abilities... there's Zero Doubt in my mind he's surpassed Em already! Based on Musical, Lyrical and Performance talent... YES... He is 100% Beyond Em!!! Again... MY OPINION!!! He Is the New GOAT!!! (PS... if ya haven't checked out his whole catalog... I don't wanna hear your arguments! Ocean, Life is Funny, Crucify your Culture, etc...) Again... MY Opinion!!!!
Yesssss bro! just watched your reaction, glad you enjoyed it! and big up for supporting my work! Some singing stuff for ya on the next one!
Love u bro 💪
This is what I really like about you Ren, that willingness to interact with you fan base
You’re killing it.
Hell yeah man let's gooo!! You are one of the rare dope artist we got out here man. Keep going brother 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Singing and rapping. Humble and ocean

Whole of America going reading Orwell thanks to ren. Renoloution!!!

Great full length interview with Ren on the Justin Hawkins Rides Again channel. Well worth a look.
In the first verse Ren uses a bit of British slang that Americans might not know and that word is Booky, Booky is someone acting strange or weird ( you're acting booky bruv) or it can be referred to a place being strange or weird ( That house is booky)
He said today that this albumn is hip hop and the next one will be more singing/piano/guitar! I cant wait for both!

One take again ! This guy a lot of people need this artist ❤ great reaction bro
George Orwell's animal farm. I read that years ago in high school but recognized the references . What an amazing creator. Always enjoy your channel!
The speed in which I see people already reacting to his new music is insane. I love it.
...the video is fire too. Imagery. Your reaction clarified a few things. Great. I'm intrigued and apprehensive of what hes about, but another perspective is always good. He is amazingly talented. PEACE Y'all...👍☝️☝️🎇🤓
You mentioned most of my favourite reactors in the first minute. You are up there with them. Great Reaction.
I just caught another line because you paused ... 'animal skins, over my shoulders like bling, they will be clothing my sins...' damn
the way he manipulates the pitch and volume in lockstep with the cadence changes... along with the slightly behind and pitched up harmonics ... d'damn

I want to make yum yum yum yum my incoming message alerts tone!
@@bpiraeus-p3b send it to me if you do as I have no idea how!
In his recent interview with Justin Hawkins, he said he's got a rock album mostly written to follow the hip hop album dropping this summer.
He did say in another song he's a "pissed off anti-Capitalist rebel". I think this one is more tongue in cheek than some of his other stuff
The idea for this is based on Orwell´s Animal Farm. On the wall, at the beggining of the video, you can read The Seven Commadments at the farm, which were, finally, 'condense' into one:

So much on so many levels. Masterpiece
Down to the Willy Wonka walk, with the cane, and the 2 Pigs behind him... again... Animal Farm!!!
Beyond BRILLIANT!!!!!
What did we do without Ren?! Genius
"Waging war on the Capitol" is a Hunger Games reference, I believe.
Rapping, singing, lyrically aside..... seriously, how good are Rens videos. They're amazing.
They're a visual feast, and this one was a full banquet, I can't get enough of it, it's so fun and so much detail
Its Orweells Animal Farm in a musical edition - Love this 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for doing this reaction Dom, and letting us share it with you. Looking forward to the next one, have a great day!

This is a straight up commentary on the greed and corruption of politics. Ren...genius at work... channelling George Orwell
Song is fire and video is a masterpiece. It’s getting mad and bloody down the Ren rabbit hole, but I’m here for it 😂

@@elizabethkindred6806I did last week just for the premiere and the talk afterwards. And I am 57. So yes, do it. 😂😂

Love your reactions !
It's his take on George Orwell's Animal Farm. The 7 rules of the Animal Farm constitution are written on the wall.
Ren is amazing and this song is fire...and you are one of my favorite reactors...thank you

Yep I've read that book several times. I caught it immediately...😎🎏

they did need a thriller type of dance at the end with all the animals with the beat rolling and him standing there with his drink.
Love Ren and love your reactions!
The acoustic of this is awesome too 🖤
“Pay attention to the Ren-nation”. Peace bro. Love your reviews.
When you get left enough we believe in guns and revolution, but never for Tr**p, this entire song is a declaration of understanding to the book Animal Farm read it.
Fantastic breakdown!
It’s all based on Animal Farm with some Clockwork Orange overtones
Bro... Animal Farm by George Orwell will explain the Whole Meaning behind the video!
Corporate Corruption!!!!
That's what you're missing!
This is part of the "sick boi" album and this is basically a rap/hip hop album. Next album will be more guitar centric again. That is what he said on twitch today.

@Jeremy Casper he is releasing one or 2 more and then dropping the album. At least one more for sure before it drops.

Orwell's, Animal Farm is Brilliant for our times.

🔥great reaction!👏👏👏👏
I read in chat somewhere that the drum in the back is a drum. Not an electronic beat and not Ren. But I don’t know where they got that info.
As always... his lyrics is Pinned in rhe comments!!!
Ren has my vote!!!
That Michael Jackson Triller/Lady Gaga dance is going to be hot. Can't wait to see stadiums of people doing that simultaneously during this song!
Or the capital of his country = London. Where the Houses of Parliament are, and that leads into the next two lines.
ren is great, good reaction man
8:07 "What is that, Velvet?"
Great reaction!

loving Ren all the more now seeing the ton of subtle messages in the song that flew over your head

Russian revolution of 1917 was represented on animal farm
🙏👏👏👏👏
Animal farm is a BIG reference
Read Animal Farm if you haven’t already. This song based partly on that novel.
Waging war with his lyrics.
How about a reaction to "Patience" by Ren. Hardly anyone has done a reaction to it. Beautiful song. About 10, years old
Like I'm going to cry but I also think I want to do a reaction to your reaction because you BDNF'd a lot of connections in my brain. I was the first openly autistic person elected to government in US history and there's a reason you don't know me. But I'm happy to find you. We are similar thinking.
War on the Capital could also be a double for Capital(ism)/Capitol(building)
great video ♥ you should do Sam Tompkins new video that just came out yesterday, it's amazing.
"Let me find out Ren can dance one day" 😂
