Thanks for taking the time to look up the lyrics to this. The times before when I listened to The Hunger I thought he was saying "Amy Winehouse." Finding out he was saying "Django Reinhardt" is phenomenal. I mean, I've known Ren has dived deep into music history-you can just tell from the way he writes his songs and the busking covers he does-but it takes a certain level of time and dedication to reach the point of knowing Django Reinhardt. What a classy namedrop. Reinhardt was a jazz guitarist from way in the early days. Very skilled. People tend to remember him today because two of his left hand fingers were basically inoperable, which is a helluva barrier to guitar playing. He ended up being pretty innovative so he could do what he needed with the two digits he he could use. Here's a pretty sweet video of him in action: ua-cam.com/video/aZ308aOOX04/v-deo.html
Yea Ren's Hella eclectic with his style. Django Reinhardt is a legend. You can tell he's tapping into everything. People put themselves in boxes and he refuses to do that. I mostly listen to metal but you can't find a genre that doesn't have something to offer me so Ren's style is right up my alley. What a creative force. 👍
I think Ren actually listened to Django, not just name dropping. He’s talked about being raised with a very broad range of music. It is fascinating to me. Lately it seems so many people stick themselves into one genre and don’t explore. I was born in 1973 but know a lot of music from the 50s and 60s because my dad exposed me to everything. I was a classical oboe player (Bach, Beethoven, Chopin) but moved between Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry, Air Supply and Chuck Mangione, Duran Duran and Metallica, and Goo Goo Dolls and Korn. I have found it to be a blessing. I think it is why Ren is his own genre of music.
This man can seriously rap. Check out Losing It (FISHER rap retake), absolutely stellar rapping and use of the existing buildup and drop structures in the original.
Its my favourite too 👍 can't stop listen to that song... and my 5 years old daughter too... she said "play the fast speaking one"😂 best wishes from germany, go on with your work👍 i like your breakdowns of the songs🎉

He said he started out wanting to be a DnB producer, so he is coming from a production background. I remember he actually shared the stems to the song, so people can do their own remix.
Haha I love how you just keep replaying it 😂 Very understandable though as this is pure fire. Everything Ren does he does so damn well. Multitalented musical genius.

Heya.. Ren has quite a lot of rap songs. He wrote The Hunger in his apartment by himself, produced, recorded, etc. It's how he makes a lot of his music when he's not with his band.
My favourite of your Ren reactions yet, and that is from an excellent baseline. Thoroughly enjoyed that. And that is British weather for you. Hi Ren was complete Take 4, I gather.
His beatboxing over that head nod at the end is everything. You were talking about how the light changes when he jumps- he is a pro at finding opportunities to use what's on scene as he did in Bittersweet Symphony when he noticed a street panel and turned it into a symbolic headstone at a funeral while filming. I also noticed he uses the sideways beam to change into his cockier devilish persona. He was born in 1991 as far as I know. Oh, and yeah, the Primark car park- Primark sort of akin to an Old Navy in the States.
"I'm on my Knox Hill today" Lmfao okay yeah you're on point earned a sub that was good, I'd love to see you two duet a reaction to something. I respect the way you present yourself while reaction to another artist's content, you're doing the game the way it needs to be done but being respectful about it and it is noticed and appreciated.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 For giving this track the love and respect it deserves! It is my go to before work & my son listens to it before all of his basketball games. Just something about it that makes you get hyped and motivated - makes you feel the hunger🔥🔥! Ren has quite a few tracks where he shows his rap skills - Power, Genesis, Losin' It are just a few more examples! Loved your breakdown and appreciation of the track and Ren's talent! I will check out your channel and some of your tracks also to see what you got ❤

Please review Ren - Losing it (fisher rap retake) Loving the Ren reviews! He is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Also I think he was born in 1990. He did a song called 1990s, again decent song!
What’s crazy is that 1990 songs was when he was a baby artist. And it is still brilliant. His lyrics…. How the hell can he do this?! He is absolutely brilliant .
You know I've heard this song quite a few times and you are the only one who is described it to where I could actually figure out what they were talking about when they were talking about the noises in rhythm I didn't hear it at first but with you pointing it out I do hear him in the background. And as far as I know yes that's all him. He is just such an amazing artist.
Ren inspired me to start designing tracksuits. I have a particular fondness for the jacket he's wearing in this video and the more I see it the more I think I might base an entire collection around Ren and his music so I don't think it's just musicians that are getting inspired right now. I haven't designed anything for a few years and suddenly I'm having loads of creative ideas. I'll definitely check out your music but I'm in no position to offer a critique!
@@NoCanDu I know! I actually had a jacket like that but in white red and blue. I got it when I went to Cape Canaveral in Florida and it had rockets on the back.I really wish I'd kept it now.
It really is inspiring to see how contagious one persons creative energy can be for so many people like I need to cop a jacket when you finish them cause its a little cold in my shop Rens got me out here trying to carve a coolibah bowl that can channel Nina Simone.
So glad you reacted to this. I almost sent this to you and I was like, Wait - I only know Ren because of Athony's reaction, he'll get here if he hasn't already filmed a reaction to it. And I was right. I love this track so much.
I appreciate the honest reaction and the fact you see what Ren says, and for no other reason going give you a thumbs up, I have checked out some of your other stuff 👍 but the only critidsm is stop being little handsome 😊 live with it 😀 enjoyed 👍 x
Great reaction my man as stated in other comments losing it is fantastic for his rapping and love music 1,2,and 3 amazing these 3 are from way back enjoy love it.
That will be the actual sun appearing out from behind the clouds. Don’t forget he’s in England, in summer time we don’t always get the sun, we do get rain, and looking at the background and the ground it looks like it had been raining.
Really enjoy your reactions to Ren. Lot of respect brother! 🙏 I highly recommend Love music part 1 and part 2 and part 3. One and two are 7 years old and part 3 is 2 years old. You will LOVE IT. 😁
Dude everything about your response and presentation is humble excellence. I’m so impressed by how much I learned about this song and big credit to the structure and foundation that you presented it in. Song 🔥 🔥🔥 your Breakdown 🔥🔥🔥
love ren , brother i couldnt wait to be 30 , now im 73 and that happened really freaking fast , be patient , youll be an old man before you know it . enjoy 30
This might be my favorite reaction to this song. (And I've seen A LOT) I enjoyed your perspective. I assume you've done Losin' It by now. I'm going to go check. That is my absolute favorite Ren Song. I pre ordered the album that came out this past Friday. I'm SO anxious for it to come! (I bought the Limited Edition CD. I guess I should have bought the digital version too. I can't wait to crank that song, driving in my car. Oh, and I'm sure someone already answered you by now, but I think he is 33 years old.
Django Reinhardt was a great jazz guitarist, in the Hot Club De France with Stefan Grappelli... The interesting thing about Django is he lost a finger and a half in a fire. So he played guitar with 2.5 fingers on his fretting hand
The artist that finally got me interested in rap. I've been a metalhead since I was 12. I like some hiphop and rap artists but none have inspired me to check out others before. Oh, right, and Ren was born 1990. Two years older than me.
I'v never been much of fan of rap or listened rap at all.. i remember some Cypress Hill things from the youngster years. But now that music taste has gotten wider and this is NICE (even thought i do miss many lyrics, gotta check if i can find them somewhere). These changes reminds progressive rock's style to suddenly jump on different tempo or riff. I also like your reactions on these Ren things... On this even thought i missed the lyrics a lot, but these rythyms and visuals are just awesome. And gotta let these lyrics sink in a bit and listen again :D

Great reaction Footnote. Jessie Owens wasn't just a track athlete. Jessie won some gold medals in the Berlin Olympics of 1936, the Olympics that were supposed to show the superiority of the Aryan German Superpeople. Jessie won his gold medals with that backdrop in front of Adolf Hitler.
Primark is a kind of good value British clothing chain and Toblerone is a popular unusual shaped chocolate bar. I think ‘ Trainers’ is the only word in English for trainers. I don’t think it’s slang just the word for them.
Hahahah I love the Knox Hill shout out. I was already enjoying your vibe, but on that, you got a new sub. ALso didn't realized the Willy Wonka shout out which ties to the Toblerone later. Looking forward to your other content.
I thoroughly enjoy your reviews of Ren's work. Enjoyed the deep & philosophical analysis of his other works, here I've really enjoyed you breaking down the technicalities (and pointing out the things I heard but missed that I could hear such as his call-outs or beatbox in the background). Glad you kept rewinding- so did I when I first heard it, its Fire! Lovely to hear that he's inspiring you with your own creations as well - I look forward to checking them out - your understanding of his music, your musical knowledge and the snips of your own skills you display in your reviews leaves me in little doubt ima gonna like it too!

Alpha, Beta, Delta, I help you into the fall out shelter (Get 'em)
Melt a mind or two with these rhymes,
You might find you never felt (Get 'em)
A feeling like this feeling, be believing I'm a demon, I'm a devil
Fuck the game, completed every level, I'm a vessel
For spirits to channel out of my lyrics, I'm a rebel
I raise my fist, the anti-capitalistic pissed I revel
In society collapsing; Fantastic, now pump the treble
Tick-tock off the top of the tip of my tongue, I am tapping telepathy
Terrify them with the terrible telekinesis tantrum;
Yes, I torture the enemy
Slowing the flow and then growing the flow,
And I swallow the flow like a Toblerone (Get 'em)
I'mma feast on the flow, I'm a beast with the flow
Then I'm switching it up and I'm taking it low
Kiddie with a black heart in a car park by Primark
Jamming Django Reinhardt

I start
Making my mark like Frankie Sinatra
King, call me Arthur
And my style is homegrown like growing cali weed
Don't need no personal trainer, I got trainers on my feet (Ay!)
You know I got the soul in my bowl when I eat
You know I'm staying grounded when I grind up my beef
But if you got a problem, my brother,
I might just put on some rubber gloves
And just choke you 'till larynx ruptures,
And blood, it just bubbles up
And the bubbles just double up, and you struggle, but luck is up
'Cause I'm subtle at covering up the trouble
Cover up the crime scene, 1990, that's my scene!
My teen years were spent rolling the Thai-green
Obscene fiend in a pair of baggy jeans
Putting backy with the green, roll a fatty dopamine
Starts flowing, my cerebellum glowing
The pendulum is slowing
I'm swinging and I'm swaying but I don't know where I'm going
Mind running Jessie Owens, Hallelujah, Leonard Cohen
All these seeds that I've been sewing slowly growing like trees
I grow, then I preach
Scrap that, I teach
Teach over beats
To all those that seek
Teach on these streets
Streets can be bleak
But bleak was the place where I rose to my feet
Thank you 🌻🇦🇺

You deserve a subscribe thank you for taking the time to react to so many of ren's tracks truly races the mind. keep up the great work of your own I dig it truly can't wait for more.
Losing it is great, hold on is also one of my favs
Ren inspired me to start designing tracksuits. I have a particular fondness for the jacket he's wearing in this video and the more I see it the more I think I might base an entire collection around Ren and his music so I don't think it's just musicians that are getting inspired right now. I haven't designed anything for a few years and suddenly I'm having loads of creative ideas. I'll definitely check out your music but I'm in no position to offer a critique!
That's so cool!
Do it!
I LOVE his jacket! Grew up on 80s new wave, so when he turned, I was like , “Yeah!” Good luck! 😘
If you want an old school beastie boys vibe, "what you want" is what you want, it's amazing 👏
This is my favorite Ren song (so far) I only wish it was longer! :) Great reaction as always Anthony! Merry Christmas from Florida!
Great reaction. I’m glad you went back a couple of times. It was worth the effort!
Watching you react to this was awesome! I love how the Ren Vibe is inspiring you to share your music, loving it!
He stitched all the flows ,styles, influences and words into a Monster of a song. Truely a Mad scientist of our time!!!
Facts 💯

Been watching a lot of reactions to Ren's work, I got to say man, I appreciate your input the most so far. Good stuff keep it up.
I love that you restarted the song, My man 😂 .
I subscribed thanks brah🤙
This song is something of a punk/jazz mashup. His cadence and switches are like Charlie Parker.
Dude your analysis is stand out. I’m picking up on new things like the change in lighting. Guy is genius
gonna check out ur music for sure.
That will be the actual sun appearing out from behind the clouds.
Don’t forget he’s in England, in summer time we don’t always get the sun, we do get rain, and looking at the background and the ground it looks like it had been raining.
I love that break down. Thank you!
He does it all. The lyrics, instrumentals and instruments, produces. It is all him. I don’t know who films his videos though.
thanks for introducing me to REN. this is dope. great breakdown too. cheers
Really enjoy your reactions to Ren.
Lot of respect brother! 🙏
I highly recommend Love music part 1 and part 2 and part 3.
One and two are 7 years old and part 3 is 2 years old.
You will LOVE IT. 😁
Honestly Ren took me by suprise.. It's like a addiction watching his video's, and people reacting to it. Love your take! Subbed :)
It’s an absokute addiction for thousands of hundreds of thousands. It’s def bringing him to stardom 😊
This video too was shot in one take, though not the first as it took four takes to get the shot because the flares kept malfunctioning
Dude everything about your response and presentation is humble excellence. I’m so impressed by how much I learned about this song and big credit to the structure and foundation that you presented it in. Song 🔥 🔥🔥 your Breakdown 🔥🔥🔥
Really good reaction. I like how you looked up the things you didn’t know. 🖤🐇🕳️🤘
Always love your take. Cheers.
Oh you just got a new sub because you pulled it back and did it again! Love it!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
love ren , brother i couldnt wait to be 30 , now im 73 and that happened really freaking fast , be patient , youll be an old man before you know it . enjoy 30
Some of my favorite Ren bars are in Losing It. "I'm messed in the mental, just check my credentials." 🤘

My favourite currently is in Heretic 'Life keeps on fucking me, I wish that life was celibate' ua-cam.com/video/wukFdoXRZKM/v-deo.html
King call me Arthur...as in Knights of the round table ! ....trucking had me chuckling !
Really good reaction. Thanks 👍
🔥🔥🔥🔥FIRE TRACK🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love the reaction. I appreciate you honoring the complexity of this song by listening more than once and looking at the lyrics.
I was so waiting for you to do this one!
Loved this one to Anthony
That "I'm on my know hill toady" floored me
Django Reinhardt was a great jazz guitarist, in the Hot Club De France with Stefan Grappelli...
The interesting thing about Django is he lost a finger and a half in a fire. So he played guitar with 2.5 fingers on his fretting hand
Again, loved your reaction. Stay Safe.
"I'm running it back... I'm doing this again." Awesome
The artist that finally got me interested in rap. I've been a metalhead since I was 12. I like some hiphop and rap artists but none have inspired me to check out others before.
Oh, right, and Ren was born 1990. Two years older than me.
I believe Ren is 31 or so , there is an article written about him, from the Daily Mail from 2016 that states he was 25 years old then.
Kiddie with a black heart in a car park by Primark
Jamming Django Reinhardt
Living like a rockstar, refine rap to a fine art, Vincent Van Gogh
I start
Making my mark like Frankie Sinatra
King, call me Arthur
Love this part
Smooth track Anthony! Almost too smooth I slid right over it.
🔥❤️🔥
Great reaction
Footnote.
Hitler left early hahahaha
Loved how detailed you picked this apart!
I’m believe Ren is 31 years old. Please check out his rap song “Genesis” too (the original, not the acoustic or remix).
Ren is just the Embodiment of BardCore.
Awesome review!
Primark is a kind of good value British clothing chain and Toblerone is a popular unusual shaped chocolate bar.
I think ‘ Trainers’ is the only word in English for trainers. I don’t think it’s slang just the word for them.
In the States, we call trainers 'sneakers', 'tennis shoes', or 'running shoes'.
daps?
Like you mention at 5:05 Ren has some influence from the Beastie Boys, and other 90s rap.
A song you should check out by Ren is What you want, as it’s directly inspired by the beastie boys and other 90s rap music.
Congratulations on releasing your music. I believe we all have been inspired by Ren. I am off to check out your podcast with Cliff, he is one of the real ones, much like yourself.
