    Absolutely the most satisfying video I’ve ever seen on YT. Just complex enough to be worth the build, but shown with enough detail to make it seem doable by a man with decent tool skills.
    Add in the zip line, dog, all the kids and the swing, and you make a dad aspire to accomplish this. Thanks for the how-to!! I’m mentally planning and saving now. 😂

      @@KeimpieceCarpentry A quick question for you... does your treehouse move around quite a bit when the kids are playing on it since the one side's joists aren't secured to the tri-beam? I assume yours is pretty rigid since your posts were fully set into concrete, but my posts are secured to footings by metal brackets so they're not as rigid and I'm a little concerned about this thing moving around a lot.

    Hey awesome tree house, is the platform floating on your beam? I’m building one for my kids and are using the tabs and floating brackets. When you set your posts in the ground I assume that the actual platform is floating to let it move freely.

    • @KeimpieceCarpentry
      @KeimpieceCarpentry  5 місяців тому +1

      that's correct. The post side is solid but the tree side is designed to slide on the beam, that's why I added the plastic pieces to reduce friction.

    Looks great but it's crazy how expensive those hardware kits are. Just a platform would run easily $1000.

    • @KeimpieceCarpentry
      @KeimpieceCarpentry  5 місяців тому

      yea the kits are pretty expensive. It's hard to find an alternative though. I'm sure you could order some larger lag bolt somewhere but you can't find them in local stores. If you had a welder you could also weld something up I'm sure.

      @@KeimpieceCarpentrythank you! Last question: did you use treated wood for the house part of the tree house? Or will regular 2x4’s work?

      I just regular 2x4s for the house part. No reason to use pressure treated. I didn't want the kids playing and coming into contact with whatever chemicals they treat that stuff with

    How come you didnt put the remaing two legs of the platform on the ground as well rather than paying for expensive tree attachments

    • @KeimpieceCarpentry
      @KeimpieceCarpentry  2 місяці тому

      Because then it wouldn't be a tree house. I'd have to dig down to pour concrete footers near the base of the tree which means I'd be digging through the tree roots. I also didn't pay for the hardware :)
