Could you help me understand why most folks talking about off-grid normal homeowner solar systems... don't discuss price (and total price) of a typical system? I would like to go solar but first need to know if its something I can afford. Like you indicated, if you can't do it right the first time, it will be more expensive in the long run with the cheaper components. In the states, when folks are building a new home, or renovating the grid electrical system, the most common system installed is "200-AMP/240v". Setting aside specific daily watt consumption for a second... what would a 48-volt solar system cost (approximate of course) that would be equivalent to a "200-WATT" (120/240v) grid system ??? Online calculators indicate that would be a 48000-watt system. So, someone considering switching from grid to solar, who currently has a 200-AMP service to their house, and doesn't want to downgrade their energy capacity, could get an idea of what the switch over would cost (excluding backup generation).
@@FieldtoFarm_UK thank you. Far too many folks talking about solar tend to... as they say... sell the sizzle and not the steak. Not too many folks thinking about going solar, do not want to give up their current capacity, therefore they need to know what the switch over will really cost them overall.
Wind and sun in Ludlow are good and do nation wide delivery, they also have good engineers always on hand to help talk you through things set up or troubleshooting wise on the phone
Enjoyed the last couple of videos, earned the sub, keep it up
Thanks very much 😁
1st class as always
Thanks 😊
Maybe add a nice hydro kit to cover your Winter needs? That's if you live near a source of running water of course.
I have a small river but I'm not aloud to divert the course for hydro so gonna try a floating water wheel at some point 👌
Hi just wondered who you got your solar system from as we are on a farm and thinking of getting a solar system Thanks
Great information.👍🏻
Cheers 🍻
What batteries do you use for the solar farm?

200 amp 110 or 100amp 240v is about what I have available with this system, your talking 25-30k new but the batteries are half of the cost

Are you related to Stewart Lee?! Has anyone said that before?
🤣 nooooo
Lovely stuff!!
Thanks 😊
Nice work and well explained ;-) bit pedantic I know but there is a difference between kW and kWh
Ino ino but that's just something else to confuse people 🤣
Ohhh nice generator do you burn waste oil in it seems to be a Cummins 6bt and trust me when I say that 6 pot monster will burn anything oil baised
Any advice on kit suppliers?
