My PSO uses a ball holder off the wall flipped upside down on the ball to catch most of the shavings as he cuts down the plugs. Pretty smart idea.

These color blind eyes of mine would not be able to see the detail in color you are seeing. Amazing!

For the original Phaze you should've just barely cut the top of the coverstock where it was gouged. Just enough where u get rid of the gouges but still see coverstock underneath and not the inner core. And plug it clear. The colors underneath will pop out more and it won't look like it was plugged at all. We do this at our shop for major gouges or if someone got a ball that had a name on it and get rid of it etc. Makes it easier and looks nicer tbh.

Actually the crack in one of the gouges went down too deep, by the time I drilled out the crack, the tip of the bit had already gotten through the cover but YES this is an amazing tip for surface stuff. Used to do the same thing and it always turned out great.

@@LukeRosdahl that blows must have missed you saying it was cracking. Nice that you still have a original Phaze! Been tryin to get my hands on a 14# for awhile now! Really liked the way it rolled for me

hmm i would like to see one of these, can you send me a link where i can see how a plugged or gouge ball looks like with this type of repair? Thanks, Rob

@@robvoyles I wish I could just post a picture on here from my phone. I don't have a link. But trust me on this it works sooooo well. If you have a shop you should try it or ask a operator to do that on one of your balls with gouges on it

I might do this on the ball still because there’s a couple more big gouges on the bottom

Luke, why can't they find a way to plug a ball and make it look like it was never plugged. I don't have many pet peeves but i just hate balls that are plugged. I know it shouldn't matter but i would pay more if it could be plugged and look factory. Any thoughts?

It’s too bad that OEm’s cannot create a plug kit for top selling balls

It’s just an impossibility, it’s a definite art just to get it close. I also don’t like plugged balls but I’ve been getting over it somewhat. With my overseas balls I’m tolerating it and for the other stuff it’s allowed me to try out some different layouts. With the streaks and swirls and colors and it being a round ball that has to be overfilled and cut down, it’s just not possible.
I think they’d rather people just buy new balls instead of plugging them anyway so that’s not likely to be something they’ll be getting into.

@@LukeRosdahl Understood, i guess feathering or blending the circle out would be huge difference vs the round circle that just stands out color matched or not. Thanks for the reply and i enjoy your channel.

I don't even know how that'd be possible though, there's going to be a hard line or edge wherever the edge of the hole is no matter what you do. The absolute best case scenario is a good color match, you're either going to have cover or plug, there's just literally no possible way to blend or feather it unfortunately.
