Agree with you 100% on most war films. The romanticism and sentiment of human atrocities is just weird af. Come & See is psychologically focused on just one kid and how despairing it would have to be. The director stated that all the scenes were based on real experiences of many refugees.. he also said his film contained the least horrifying of those testimonies.
Irreversible hit me like a ton of bricks when it came out. The whole opening scene is brutal. Even the soundtrack over it makes you feel very uneasy and disturbed.
To me, all the road to the tunnel scene is intense but it was for sure more enjoyable than that part. No experience with other disturbing movies or gorey movies will prepare you for the Tunnel scene. 3 years since I saw Irreversible and I cannot forget it. The images and the dialogue are fucking haunting.
Nice selections, especially dark city, blade runner 2049, Irreversible, the thing, and come and see. It's good to see come and see here because it's absolutely enthralling in a disturbing way. It captured the imagery of grim reaper (a personification of death) who spread darkness all over the world. I'm glad that you included dark city, they live, aliens and blade runner 2049. I'm a huge fan of science fiction and dystopian fiction. Now, I can see why do you enjoy those kind of movies as a film enthusiast. I have a list of recommendation (based on your personal taste) for you too, and some of these would be my favorites. -Minority Report -Colossus: The Forbin Project -Anti-Clock -World on a Wire -Enter The Void -Big Fish -La Jetee -Memories of murder -Salò

Your taste is immaculate. The Thing is one of the coolest movies ever made. A movie I think you'd like is Noroi: The Curse. It's a Japanese found footage movie that relies on atmosphere and folkloric worldbuilding for its horror.
I love how They Live pays homage to the Old B-Movies from the 50's but still feel original. Anyways here 5 movies I really like. - Suspiria I just love how beautiful shot Italian horror movies are and how artistic they can be. - Alien Its the movie that Inspired the Metroid series. -End of Evangelion I first watched this when I was really young and was just blown away by it and made me question my own existence for a period of time. -Any Godzilla Film -Super Inframan Makes little to no sense, Kinda hard to follow sometimes, super cheesy with its special effects and I love every minute of it. Think of power Rangers and kamen rider but on crack and was made in China, this movie always puts me in a good me and is tons of fun if you just leave your brain at the front door.
Mousehunt had this on video as a kid used to watch it all the time hahaha a few years ago i had a mouse in my house and that movie is all i could think of lmfao and plus Lee Evans is in it one of the greatest stand up comedians of all time
Many good picks here Wyatt, some I have yet to watch. Mine would be: 01- *Ghost in the Shell* (1995) 02- *Pinchcliffe Grand Prix* (1975) 03- *Das Boot* (1981) 04- *Return of the King* (2003) 05- *The Empire Strikes Back* (1980) 06- *Shawshank Redeption* (1994) 07- *Treasure Planet* (2002) 08- *Royal Space Force: the Wings of Hônneamise* (1987) 09- *Amadeus* (1984) 10- *Baraka* (1992)

Fuck that's like asking somebody to go bankrupt these days lol. I'm a big movie guy, I have an absurd collection of mostly DVD and a decent stack of blurays. The quality is great, especially the re-scans of grainy old slashers and shit, but the "collectors" aspect has drove prices up too much, now people care about slipcovers and resale prices more than the actual movie. Most of my blurays are scream factory since they're pretty cheap, but vinegar syndrome, vestron, anchor Bay, and severin do some kick ass releases
Great list. Cube is my favorite movie ever, it’s so fucking unique. Come and See and Irreversible are really tough but incredible throughout. LOTR movies are the best fantasy/epic battle movies of all time, nothing comes close. Great fuckin list
I know about Irreversible thanks to the Thomas Bangalter's music (might know him from Daft Punk, Stardust or Together). Haven't watched it though. On it!
If you loved the Raid films, you should check out The Night Comes For Us. Brutal action/martial arts film that pretty much is The Raid 3 since it has the actors that were in The Raid films. Highly recommended!
Many soviet war movies are heavily based on journals and memoirs which describe the horror and despair from a personal view, making them hard to watch.
Speaking of Oldboy, did you check out the other Park Chan-wook films from that thematic trilogy? i.e. Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Lady Vengeance? I highly recommend them, if you loved Oldboy
The singer from Oxbow, who also wrote a book about fighting, commented that the fight scene in They Live is one of the most realistic put on screen. Irreversible is messed, had to fast forward a certain scene. I think Re-Animator has good gore effects too. Personally I enjoy Lars Von Trier movies, The Exorcist and gritty 70s Crime and Horror movies, Dirty Harry films are good fun, Escape From New York. A recent hidden gem for me was The Art of Self Defence, has a good twist, the lead character starts listening to metal to become more manly, features Grind core and Black Metal..
Couple friends told me to watch Leon: The Professional while I was tripping on acid. They had taken some Xanax and knocked out. This was in our druggy days lol. Anyways I watched and was blown away by the plot. Hard to watch but has been one of my favorite movies since.
i have many favorite films, but my number 1 favorite film of all time is Sergio leone’s 1984 epic crime drama once upon a time in america which is a 4 hour epic and an absolute masterpiece of a film that changed my life when i saw it for the first time and it will always be my favorite film of all time this epic for me is Sergio leone’s masterpiece, he has done so many great films like the dollars trilogy and once upon a time in the west but this is my favorite film of his with a beautiful musical score by ennio morricone it’s a sprawling 4 hour epic that if you haven’t seen it I highly recommend you do so because it is one of the greatest films ever made the version recommend is the extended director’s cut which is the definitely the version to see of this absolute classic if you want to understand the story better since the film is a non linear structure and an opium dream film but it’s also a film about friendship since the film explores themes of childhood friendship love lust betrayal greed and broken relationships and also nostalgia.
My top ten favorite movies in alphabetical order are: Braveheart Bringing Up Baby Dolores Claiborne Forrest Gump Innerspace Magnolia Maltese Falcon Psycho Purple Rose of Cairo Singin in the Rain
Irreversibile is definitely the hardest movie I have ever watched, that scene made me really uncomfortable and I almost quit, it’s a really good movie but I don’t think I can watch it again.
Great video dude I recently watched a Korean movie that almost made me vomit. I honestly don't understand how some of the scenes there were filmed. It's called Silenced. Irreversible is fantastic. Personally it didn't move me one way or the other emotionally aside from when the dude found his girlfriend beaten when he was leaving the club. But either way it's a really amazing film. This is the type of shit that relaxes me for some reason.
10. Blue velvet 9. The house that jack built 8. Man bites dog 7. The killing of a sacred deer 6. Letters from Iwo Jima 5. Silence of the lambs 4. Funny games 3. Trainspotting 2. Dead man's shoes 1. Martyr's (Runners up; irreversible, a Serbian film, requiem for a dream, all cheech and Chong, all Monty python, cube, platoon, hamburger hill, swordfish, possession, clockwork orange, Eden lake, antichrist, Texas chainsaw...... Mars attacks.... RoboCop....., ) ... There are too many good movies ...
Fucking "masque of the red death" That's a runner up and a half.. so stylised, so great "Let us dance... The dance.. of death" And the thing was a great choice, feel like I missed a trick
As somebody who is a movie guy your list ain't bad. Lots of objectively great classics in there. Shutter Island was so predictable and boring to me, it's easily Scorsese's worst movie, dicaprio is the strong point though. Aliens is awesome, basically everything from the first is ramped up to 11 and it has such a kick ass cast of legendary actors. I kind of agree about war movies in general, but I absolutely love Vietnam movies for some reason. Full metal jacket, hamburger hill, apocalypse now, dead presidents, platoon, and deer hunter are all classics. Irreversible is fantastic. I'd recommend Julian donkey boy, gummo, dogtooth, bad boy Bubby, and bully if you like disturbing yet very moving and artistic movies. Lord of the rings is cool, Peter Jackson also made dead alive, meet the feebles, and bad taste which are fuckin awesome. Commando or last action hero are probably my favorite action movies for multiple reasons, but Swarzenegger is the king of action heros. They live and the thing, now those are fuckin top tens of mine, you have to see hell comes to frogtown if you like Roddy and haven't seen it yet, shits wild. (It's Kieth David by the way, not davidson) Honestly, movies are awesome, they're another great art form like music is, so there's no way I could pick one or the other. There's also some awesome movies geared toward metal fans with the soundtrack or the content itself that are always cool. It's hard to balance out the time but there's so many great films out there that are just as rewarding as finding a new band you love. Wading through all the shit is the hard part
I’ve seen them all besides 2049 & The Raid 2 so yeah I’ll go to it, thanks for making this! Was one of those guys who always preferred Matrix over Dark City but both have become no doubt increasingly relevant af to society. Mousehunt's opening truly fucked me up as a kid watching more than Irreversible did. Climax is my favorite Noé film so far. Electric Wizard introduced me to that old shit like The Devil's Wedding Night and Sinful Dwarf which are some of the higher quality out of boring boomer horror. Now that we got the “I know movies” beta lists out the way here’s mine off the top of my head. Someone already mentioned End Of Evangelion so I won't but that film absolutely moved me. 1, Apocalpyse Now. No-one seems to ever call war films psychedelic/ trippy in any sense. 2, The Dark Knight. Its highs are better than LoTR, though Fellowship was always my go-to. The biggest premise upon the last visit I got from it was its constant element of trust and naivety. 3, Donnie Darko. Revisiting the cinema and ending scenes never fail to fuck me up about retelling my/ anyone's mental health. 4, Fight Club. The coolest film ever I believe Tarantino wishes he made. 5, The Lost World Jurassic Park (there I said it, it’s just way more fun than the first and along with the first some of the best and perhaps final epic uses of practical effects). Every kaiju, monster and dinosaur-related thing seems to be measured by these two, but in the first two films they got the realism down perfectly. 6, Riki-Oh: The (Best martial arts film) Story Of Ricky. 7, Suspiria (Mean to revisit the epic remake). 8, Tetsuo: (Mean to revisit the sequels) The Iron Man. 9, Wicked City. 10, Videodrome. A very, very Wyatt thing, it's as Wyatt as much as Wyattxhim The Movie is. But there is still a bunch of films out there I mean to visit like El Topo/ Jodorowsky. As for Lynch, Fire Walk With Me is the best out of Twin Peaks.
It would take forever to list my favorite movies so here's 5 of them that I've been rewatching recently with brief reasons why I love them: - Darkman (this is better than the 3 Raimi Spider-Simp movies combined) - Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (the best G rated serious movie ever made) - Phantasm (underrated surreal 70's horror) - Highlander (its cheesy and epic and has Queen and Michael Kamen doing the soundtrack, I love it) - Castle in the Sky (my favorite Studio Ghibli movie)
In No Particular Order: Halloween III: Season Of The Witch Back To The Future Predator Re-Animator Silver Bullet Citizen Kane Halloween '78 Beetlejuice The Crow Terminator 2: Judgement Day The Shawshank Redemption Sicario The Witch The 'Burbs Dr. Strangelove Psycho Rear Window Robocop '87
@@WaxScum But if it wasn't Under the Halloween series umbrella I have to doubt it would be as well known as it is today. I think it was a good idea what John and Debra has planned, a new Halloween themed movie based around Halloween Lore each year. I woulda loved that.
love cube. so eerie. also they reused one room for every scene. very smart from a economical stand point ha... dont worry about the name, my name is kurt from kurt cobain.. agreed completey on the cgi. if you want to see shit cgi, watch spawn. the cgi makes you literally feel sick
“I like the sequel better than the original.”

Mouse Hunt is a masterpiece lmao
Saw all 3 lotr films as a kid on theaters. One hell of a experience.
Irreversible hit me like a ton of bricks when it came out. The whole opening scene is brutal. Even the soundtrack over it makes you feel very uneasy and disturbed.
They used specific wavelengths to make you feel uneasy
Other then the two shocking scenes, this movie is just so boring....

No experience with other disturbing movies or gorey movies will prepare you for the Tunnel scene. 3 years since I saw Irreversible and I cannot forget it. Ok I finally know what someone meant what they said I was the product of the love scene in Irreversible
(It's Kieth David by the way, not davidson)
Honestly, movies are awesome, they're another great art form like music is, so there's no way I could pick one or the other. There's also some awesome movies geared toward metal fans with the soundtrack or the content itself that are always cool. It's hard to balance out the time but there's so many great films out there that are just as rewarding as finding a new band you love. Wading through all the shit is the hard part
Sonne Hagal Ockerwasser shoulda got a mention
The Green Mile
1. Garfield live action movie
Who's hunting WHOM. They got the poster wrong.
It would take forever to list my favorite movies so here's 5 of them that I've been rewatching recently with brief reasons why I love them:
- Darkman (this is better than the 3 Raimi Spider-Simp movies combined)
- Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (the best G rated serious movie ever made)
- Phantasm (underrated surreal 70's horror)
- Highlander (its cheesy and epic and has Queen and Michael Kamen doing the soundtrack, I love it)
- Castle in the Sky (my favorite Studio Ghibli movie)
Have u seen the house jack built?
In No Particular Order:
Halloween III: Season Of The Witch
Back To The Future
Predator
Re-Animator
Silver Bullet
Citizen Kane
Halloween '78
Beetlejuice
The Crow
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
The Shawshank Redemption
Sicario
The Witch
The 'Burbs
Dr. Strangelove
Psycho
Rear Window
Robocop '87
Season of the Witch is underrated as hell. I feel like if it wasn’t involved in the Halloween series it would’ve been more accepted.
@@WaxScum But if it wasn't Under the Halloween series umbrella I have to doubt it would be as well known as it is today. I think it was a good idea what John and Debra has planned, a new Halloween themed movie based around Halloween Lore each year. I woulda loved that.
Bro where did you get that Ichi shirt? Easily my #1 favorite film, i’ve watched that shit 18 times now i think
