I've listened to this so many times lol. It was stuck in my head all day yesterday. The bass is Tim dressed like Jack Sparrow, he owns that outfit and he was standing in his brother in law's boat singing this.
He was standing in *Chance's* boat that is inexplicably stored at Tim's brother-in-law's house. (It's not really that inexplicable -- Chance was friends with Jennika & her family long before he joined Home Free. Still, Chance in LA stores his boat at a house in Nashville, TN, is a bit amusing.) They didn't explain to the neighbors...
@@lrfcowper lol ok I remembered brother in law and boat so put that together. Lots of lakes near Nashville so maybe he wants a boat to use when he visits.
@@FollowingGhost Oh, it makes sense, it's just really funny because it sounds like they just adopt each other's relatives -- "Tim is standing in Chance's boat." "But isn't Chance in LA and Tim in Nashville?" "Yes. The boat is at his brother-in-law's place in Nashville." "Oh, Chance's brother-in-law? That makes sense, sort of..." "No. Tim's brother-in-law." ... Anyhow, I'm getting the impression Tim really likes Halloween & other costume opportunities. Though I'm not sure any of them can beat Adam's dragon costume that he just had in his closet in Sunday Best. Quarantine has sure revealed what utterly adorable dorks they all are.
The man in the pirate suit is the bass - Tim Foust - he has a 5 octave range. The beatboxer is Adam Rupp - if you get the chance there are videos of him performing a "drum solo" - without drums. The band is purely acapella (no instruments). There is a live video called "9-5 Beatboxing breakdown" in which they all beatbox.
I want to know what kind of control you all possess in order to listen to this and just barely nod your heads to the beat. Remarkable!!! Not me !! I was moving !!! lol
Drunken Sailor on a historical point has always be “Earl-eye in the morning”. Definitely an interesting pronunciation to it, but I think it fits better than “earl-y”, and it’s how real sailors sung it
its kinda funny they pointed it out since even irish bands which for some reason i dont remember the names of right now who have sung this also did it with that way of saying it
Love how beatboxer added castanets at the end!! Sea shanties were sung aboard ships long before records &DVDs!! HF had a lot of fun being seamen / Pirates for a day! Avast ye landlubbers! Aargh!
The beatboxer (Adam) doing the castanet sound on that last song was awesome, and I guess you figured it out through elimination, but the bass guy was the one dressed as Capt. Jack Sparrow. His name is Tim.
Some of the sea shanties were for slack time, but most of them were work songs and helped to synchronize the pull and hold phases for hauling and lifting.
I listened to shanties for like 2 weeks straight and never regretted a single second. Spotify has quite a lot of them. Including all the Assassin's Creed: Black Flag ones
Bottom left is high tenor Austin Brown, bottom right is beat boxer (and group founder) Adam Rupp (rumor has it at age 4 he swallowed an entire drum set LOL), center is tenor Rob Lundquist, upper left is baritone/bass Chance (does bass lines when Tim sings lead), upper right (Jack Sparrow) is Tim Foust who has what I call a bottomless voice. To get this listen to Folsom Prison Blues.
So glad you guys appreciated this one...now I need to join the patreon and request some of my favorite Home Free songs....Thanks guys this is my favorite group....they are pretty amazing !
@Say Sike Right Now some of their best I'll say now & you can hear them for free on youtube.....covers (Bye Bye Miss) American Pie, Helplessly Hoping, (Take me home) Country Roads, Folsom Prison Blues, Try Everything, Can't Stop the Feeling, Everybody Walkin this Land, House Party....and Spaceship...originals....Dive Bar Saints, When you walk in, What is this world coming too?, Why Not?, Cross that Bridge, Good Ol' Boy Good time, and many more

Tim Foust is one of THE BEST bass vocalists you can find. He can go so low that speakers at live shows break because they can't generate enough output to register the sound. EVERYTHING vibrates like you're at Coachella 🤣🤣🤣
It was funny...Home Free and a sea shanty. What? A sea shanty? I love this. I guess they’re a big thing on TikTok and one of the guys of Home Free said let’s do one. They did it in the TikTok format so that’s why it looks skinny. They also did this in quarantine so it was all filmed separately. The bass is Tim Foust who looked like Jack Sparrow. He can go really low. Glad you enjoyed this.
The Bass deep singer is in the Jack Sparrow outfit. And, he seems still…he’s standing in a little boat…LOLOL…don’t think he wanted to fall into the drink. 🙃❤️‼️
You gotta hear the original tiktok of this with the add on people because this is slightly sped up and all too articulate 😂 you need to feel the origin sounds. Almost like a war song! Just different
No it’s Tim in the long black wig but the guy that started the song, I think his name is Chance, also has a deep baritone voice. Tim Foust can also sing about four or five octaves higher. You should check out Mayday. It show their ranges better.
That group is called VoicePlay and that video was my introduction to them. While Home Free's costumed venture was more light hearted and cosplay, VoicePlay goes deep into character. You can see that in My Mother Told Me (Viking) and in the one they premiered about a week ago, Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean at World's End. You would believe they were actually deadly pirates transported from that place and time. And like Tim here, their bass Geoff has a fabulous 5 or 5+ octave range. You might want to check out the video they did together Zombies vs Hillbillies - Survivor.
Just subscribed so not sure what you've watched from Home Free before. Can't Stop the Feeling is great and a breakdown in the middle with them all dong some mouth/beat stuff. Butts Remix, super fun, mashing songs together. Just so many songs. Home Free fans are super loyal, so we're here if you react to them!! Oh, you might want to watch their video to 9 to 5. Having worked in corporate office 30 years, I loved it!! Super fun and all set in an office. If you like a good fun country song, check out Hillbilly Bone, bass Tim leads. Take care, Thanks.
4:25 according to the Jimmy Carr UK accents video that I requested and you reacted to(ua-cam.com/video/IdL7IIyBroU/v-deo.html), the west country accent is just a pirate voice.
1st song: Getting on-board.
2nd song: Setting sail.
3rd song: Pulling out of the harbor.
4th song: Cruising speed.
5th song: RAMMING SPEED!!!

Hardly anyone mentions Adam and those amazing castanet sounds. What instrument can that guy not imitate?
Well, Adam IS a 3-time world champion beatboxer... so it's all in a day's work for him I suppose!
I bet he can't imitate a hurdy-gurdy..
@@samhilton4173 ......please keep saying this and he might take it as a challenge one day and i need that to happen XD
No, there isn't anything Adam can't imitate....that is why we affectionately call him The Freak of Nature
That would be a dream come true.
It sounds like a modern twist on an old Irish folk song. I love this. Outstanding song by them! I'll have to check more of them out.
