This is a great video! It is really everything a beginner NEEDS to know, and was well said. I have a couple tips/tricks after 140 days in that I would like to share that I have not seen in any videos. Maybe it’s been covered, but I haven’t seen it. 1) You can use objects you cannot store in your inventory (wild boar/giant crab/barrels/tires etc) to move your raft. You can use it to easily ram your raft on/off the shore, easily turn your raft to the proper direction and even move the raft more quickly than a sail or motor boat engine. You can adjust the rafts position even with the anchor down. All you need to do is hold one of this objects and push it up against a container shelf! That’s it! The harder you push the faster the ship moves. It can be a little …. challenging at times but it’s very helpful and quick. Just don’t tip your raft when ramming it on shore. 2) Yucca Fruit can be frustrating to pick, at least on Xbox it is. Stand to where the fruit is pointing to the right and look at the tree stem right where the Yucca Fruit sprouted and it will glow every time. 3) When clearing an island to harvests palm for material, carry the palm back to the beach BY THE TRUNK. I know, not really a tip and more common sense. For 2 islands I was carrying by the palm bunch and it gets stuck on items and you can barely see where you are going. Hope these help. Let me know if these are new to you!
Granddaddy Gamer, I just found your channel today, and it inspired me to dive back into Stranded Deep! It is a very challenging game, with no tutorial or guidance, just as you would be if truly stranded on a deserted island. Trial by error is the key to games like this, which I hate and appreciate at the same time. Your tips are wonderful, useful, and the videos are very well done. Thank you for great content. You've got my sub!
Omg thank you! Lol I have been hoping the Pipí would grow back. Now I know to farm it. Hadn’t even thought of that. Also wonderful to know about the potatoes. This game is brutal but fun
"start over" really is the best advice you can give a new player these kids say "i'm 6 days in, but i'm out of palm fronds and i can't find a second pipi and i'm out of coconuts/potatoes/rocks!" but they fail to realize that it's so much more painful to continue trying a doomed save rather than take what they've learned to manage their resources better in a second go
When the shark flips you jump back on the raft whether it is upside down or right side up. If you time it right, you can jump as the shark bumps the raft, it will flip while you are in the air, and you will land back in the raft. Get back to rowing as soon as possible every foot counts when you are trying to move to another island. The rubber raft is a shark magnet so you already know to expect trouble. Build a simply 1x1 raft with sail and rutter, and an anchor )if you think you need it) as soon as you can. With a sail boat sharks can still tip them, especially anything that is only 2 wide. If you are being pursued by a shark in your sailing raft, don't make a straight heading move back and forth with your rutter, snaking through the water basically. I typically just tap my joystick three to four times on way and then three or four times the other, and keep repeating until I reach my destination.
How does anybody know to put the palm fronds or fibrous leaves under the water distiller/collection unit? I built one and it started collecting water right away but I didn’t put anything underneath it and I had placed it on grass so I didn’t notice that it must’ve put it there when I crafted it. Then it just stopped working. It’s annoying when they make games like this and they don’t tell you very specific things. Elden ring does the same thing. Why would you work so hard on the game and put such an epic story in there and then risk almost everybody not finding half the stuff that you did. Half the stuff that you worked on for years on end with 12 to 15 hour days etc.! It doesn’t make any sense. They don’t have to beat you over the head with it like they do in horizon zero dawn lol but they can tell you even subtly. They forget?? Some game companies use in-house testers and you can’t do that because it’s like having a conversation with somebody and having half of it in your head. Do you know what you mean but the other person only knows half of it !!🤣🤣👍🏻. That last one is a tip a marriage tip from your good ole uncle Larry.

They are there. I'm playing the same platform and I see them
@@hogie9 Alright! Maybe i´m missing them then. Gonna play it again and see it :)
@@beornen8923 after you knock the leaves off the yucca plant look on stalk. Should be half way up. I believe it has 3 leaves
@@beornen8923 apologies it has more than 3 leaves. After you knock of the leaves it's on the tallest empty stalk halfway up
