This makes it somewhat easier to rhyme certain words... At least, compared to the somewhat tortured rhymes you'll sometimes hear in American rap.
Something else about the Japanese language is that tense is the same for most verb endings. You can conjugate several sentences with the same ending tense (present, past, future) and they would naturally rhyme. for example ...arimasu, ...yomimasu, ...nomimasu all rhyme simply because Im using present tense endings.

P3 introduced me to the Persona series so Burn my Dread will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you so much for reacting to this great song -- and with Last Battle, too! Amazing!

Both he and Yumi returned over 10 years later to redo the song for the movie quadrilogy finale, and it hits especially hard by blending both versions into a masterpiece.
This game is the sole reason I even began to enjoy some hip hop, rap and a few other genres. I grew up "tarnished" by that horrible spew kids listened to at school. These tracks are some of my favourite songs and I'm so glad for that. This game is amazing
There is indeed multiple variations of the original version of Burn my Dread as well the last battle version, my personal favorites come from the Persona 3 movies. (Those would be "Burn my Dread- Spring of Birth" and "Burn my Dread (last battle)- future arrange" respectively)

Hell yeah. TWEWY did that for me, Pop music isnt bad I just dont like popular bands' versions. Put it in a scenario where it works with something I'm into and it'll ear worm into me all the same!
Don't feel bad, it's the same with most people. They all say they hate Hip Hop, but in reality, they're just stupid ignorant people who've heard maybe like 2 or 3 songs in their life.
Burn My Dread - Future Mix from the P3 movie is kind of what you want, it has more of everything. Fave version of this song for sure, you should check it out.
It's no exaggeration that this song single-handedly got me into Persona, the greater SMT franchise, and my personal interest in Tarot cards 😹 I had no way to play it back when I first saw it in 2007, but I consumed so much Persona media both from friends who played it and this budding emergent platform people might know as UA-cam, and one thing which kept the hype for the game fresh was this track stored in my mp3 player. I eventually managed to play the PSP version in 2010, then both the OG and FES version, and man has Persona never left my top JRPG franchise for a long, long time. Just a little story of how I found my love for this series, and this song in particular 😸
Fun fact: there's actually a THIRD version that is actually from the Persona 3 Movie which is the Future Arrange version and I would argue is the best because it's just a straight jam
"He died for our cause, he sacrifice his life for our sins" -Mar/5/2009 never forget. also listen to "Kimi no Kioku" give it a try its the one of the most emotional songs in persona along with p4 never more and "Battle for Everyones Souls"
Preferably with the lyrics, because until you know them you won't feel the "entire" weight of the song. Obviously, you'd have to play the game in order for it to fully hit you.
All I'm going to say about persona 3 is: it's intense and I love it. Now for the Atlus Sound Team, they are insanely good, the composers, writers, musicians, mixers and everyone else involved. They come up with drastically different soundtracks, and somehow they all sound sublime!!
I think this is the first track from Persona you've listened to with Lotus Juice, but he is the rapper in this song and a lot of other tracks. Honestly as someone who is not a fan of rap, god I could listen to lotus juice with no problem. Especially his work on the P4 arena main theme, although he really hasn't been used as much for the vocal persona tracks since p5.
My favorite part about the later half of the persona soundtracks is how all these musical styles mix together to make their own unique sound. I love it. 5 is maybe my least favorite (though i still enjoy it) just because it's more easy going, but strikers really punched up the music and made me appreciate it more.
the rapper is Lotus Juice, hes pretty great. have you listened to wiping all out? its the alternative battle theme if you choose to play as the female protagonist in P3 portable; its pretty great
God damn I love your content , there Is always somthing in your daily bulk of uploads that Im familiar with & you have great understanding and appreciation for the songs regardless of genre....keep up the good shit bud👍
The only other rap songs in video games that Immediately come to my mind are "I'm Back (to Rise)" from Killer Instinct, Ed's theme from SFV, any song associated with knuckles in Sonic Adventures 1 and 2, and (if you wanna listen to more of Lotus Juice's rapping) Mass Destruction from Persona 3.
i have my issues with persona 3, some of which is parts of the soundtrack, but every SMT game has incredible bangers. This is a personal favorite, always love your input.
A lot of the songs get remixes for the spin off games. The dancing games are pretty much all remixes, and there's also some really good mixes of the individual game's music genres in the Persona Q games, which cross over 3&4 in PQ, and 3, 4, & 5 in PQ2. This is especially prominent in PQ2's opening, which perfectly blends the 3 styles together
These are the movie versions: Persona 3 The Movie #1 Burn My Dread: ua-cam.com/video/4pNDzL8w6XI/v-deo.html Persona 3 The Movie #4 Burn My Dread - last battle - (future arrange): ua-cam.com/video/9UieCoHm91E/v-deo.html
Last Battle is and isn't the song for the final boss. The actual fight (which has about 14 total phases, the first 13 kind of being like a series of warm-up rounds) plays a different song: The Battle for Everyone's Souls Last Battle happens in the fight after, playing out more like a cutscene, although you are still technically in a fight. There's also a future arrange of Last Battle that gives it even more of an emotional edge to it.
Ok now you have to try playing one of the persona games !!!! It's always an absolute joy to see more people experience it for the first time And yes so many songs have different versions throught the course of the game
Not sure someone already mentioned, our characters need to trigger their psychic power in the battle in this title, by "SHOOT YOURSELVES IN THE HEAD" - That's why it says BURN YOUR DREAD.
Recomendations for persona music: Whims of fate - Persona 5 The fog (Konishi remix) - Persona 4 Dancing Burn My Dread (Last Battle MOVIE VERSION) - Persona 3 Movie (I know you already did the other version, but I think this remix is way more interesting)
check out the persona 3 movie exclusive tracks too. self redemption, light under starless sky, deep breath deep breath remix etc absolute fire all around.
It's not exactly a remix, but probably my favorite case in persona where elements of a track are reincorporated into another would probably be Joy and Memories of You from Persona 3. You can hear a lot of similarities between the two, but they create two totally different feelings, and the way it's done ties in really well with the story too. It's a pretty rare thing in the series though unfortunately. The only other time I can remember off the top of my head is in Persona 4 with Corner of Memories and Never More, though that's a lot less subtle.
'Do For Love' is a song that I think fits a combination of the two songs you mentioned. (Granted, different song.) It's not from persona, but Shoji Meguro DID compose it!
I hope enough requests stack up that you just listen to the entire persona 3 universe's discography for an entire day, one of the absolute best musical bodies of work in gaming history hopefully some requests come in for Laser Beam and Nothing is Promised from PQ1/2 as well since he's taken a liking to Lotus Juice
We need more rap in these music recommendations. Sadly even as a gamer I can't really think of many great Rap OSTs other than Mad World and Anarchy Reigns.
Burn My Dread (Last Battle) plays right after the boss where Battle for Everyone's Souls plays, right as you stare at the big bad by yourself and you literally just have to press one button to end it all. It is such a fucking great moment. You really should do Persona 3's regular battle theme next, it's called Mass Destruction.
Man if you love this version of Last Battle Burn My Dread, I highly recommend the version from the 4th Persona 3 movie. I actually think it's somehow better. It's called Burn My Dread Last Battle (future arrange).
My favorite version of this is actually the Final Battle - Voice Mix Arrange, since it includes the relevant dialogue from the actual final battle. It uses the JP voices, and they are really good at portraying emotions, so those added lines of dialogue in between the rapping really hit hard without taking away from the music
If you're looking for other remixes of Persona tracks, you could always give the P4D/P3D/P5D game soundtracks a listen. They are dance/rhythm games but I don't know if anyone has requested any of the tracks up to this point.
Burn My Dread is not only fantastic for all the reasons you and others in the comments have said, but it also sets up the main leitmotif throughout Persona 3. The leitmotif is derived from Burn My Dread's verses and is featured throughout the game. One of the songs it features most prominently in is "When the Moon Reaches for the Stars" another track starring Yumi. It even follows through into the various spin offs featuring Persona 3, like Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight's intro song "Our Moment". It's really fun finding the leitmotif throughout both the game's OST and the Persona series overall!
Burn My Dread is also especially worth listening to while watching the opening title movie for the vanilla version of Persona 3. There's honestly almost nothing like it. The first time I booted the game up I had to sit there and just stare at the screen after what I just saw, even though it was quite short.
I really recommend listening to the main battle theme of Persona 3 "Mass Destruction," it's one of my favorite songs and the rapper Lotus Juice also sings it 😄
In reference to your comments about hip hop - I'll always hold a spark of hope in my heart because one time I tweeted about how one of the Tartarus BGMs from P3 sounded like it belonged as a beat on the Big Boi/Sleepy Brown collab album (Big Sleepover) & then said I'd love to see Big Boi sample Persona (he's already sampled Miku Hatsune before, it's not out of the realm of possibility) & work with Lotus Juice someday and both Big Boi AND Lotus Juice liked the tweet. MY DREAM REMAINS!! Imagine a Persona OST with Southern Hip Hop influence...
You can't complete Persona 3 experience without listening to Memories of You, also known as Kimi-no-Kioku. I extremely highly recommend it to you. Nevertheless, great video as always! Please keep them coming, I enjoy them way too much :)
I'm so happy I found the persona series with persona 5 and when persona 3 remake comes I'm going to be excited to play that I hope we get the original intro though because this is amazing
There's a movie rendition of Mass Destruction last battle that's a really great version of it. Definitely would recommend giving the movie versions a listen, as they're all remastered and redone with new instrumentals and lyrics for some of them.
This is the opening to literally my favorite game of all time, and the first thing that ever inspired me to get a tattoo. Edit: This is also the final battle to literally my favorite game of all time, and the first thing that ever inspired me to get a tattoo. On the real real though, this game is amazing, I just wish there were an actual definitive edition (I can understand the FES and the P3P crowds. I just want both in one package.) I recommend the hell out of this game if you're down for a long and great turn based JRPG. Also, the rapper is Lotus Juice if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah lotus juice is definitely just 10/10 when it comes to songs. I had first heard them through an anime named Soul Eater and immediately wanted to hear more, then found the trailer for persona 3. Hearing the song in the persona 3 FES trailer made me immediately but it.
Love that you mentioned Nujabes... have you ever listened to the soundtrack fo the Anime Samurai Champloo? Nujabes did a lot of music for that anime.. and the soundtrack is actually 4 albums long of all music thats real ambient and cool like Nujabes
The song from Persona 3 FES's intro, simply called "FES", sounds like it would be right up your alley. It's unfortunately very short, but it's damn good.

P3 and TWEWY made me realize I don't hate rap/hip-hop at all. I just didn't listen to the right songs.
This might be my fav reaction vid of yours yet. Hope those seed for other videos you planted come to fruition really looking forward to that!
Burn My Dread - Future Mix from the P3 movie is kind of what you want, it has more of everything. Fave version of this song for sure, you should check it out.
So happy to listen to P3 OST with you and that you enjoyed it that I burned my bread
Totally agree!!!
But the first p3 film has a different version of the opening as well
4:09 your hand movement coincidentally matches the lyrics with the trembling gun lol
I love seeing people react to game music for the first time, ESPECIALLY with bangers like Persona. Those OST's don't miss. This was a fun watch!
Thank you for reviewing this. Persona changed my life :D
"He died for our cause, he sacrifice his life for our sins" -Mar/5/2009 never forget.
also listen to "Kimi no Kioku" give it a try its the one of the most emotional songs in persona along with p4 never more and "Battle for Everyones Souls"
i still can’t listen to kimi no kioku without crying and it’s been years since i finished p3
@@arikusu8383 cried while seeing it at the end of the game, and then looked up what the lyrics meant which made me cry even more...
P3 is a good game
Preferably with the lyrics, because until you know them you won't feel the "entire" weight of the song. Obviously, you'd have to play the game in order for it to fully hit you.
Kimi no tonari and Change your way also hit really hard
All I'm going to say about persona 3 is: it's intense and I love it.
Now for the Atlus Sound Team, they are insanely good, the composers, writers, musicians, mixers and everyone else involved. They come up with drastically different soundtracks, and somehow they all sound sublime!!
I just recently finished my first playtrough of p3 and i cant wait to see more of it on your channel!
He returned in Persona Q & Q2.
My favorite part about the later half of the persona soundtracks is how all these musical styles mix together to make their own unique sound. I love it. 5 is maybe my least favorite (though i still enjoy it) just because it's more easy going, but strikers really punched up the music and made me appreciate it more.
imo the "future arrange" of the song from the last Persona 3 movie is the best one
the rapper is Lotus Juice, hes pretty great. have you listened to wiping all out? its the alternative battle theme if you choose to play as the female protagonist in P3 portable; its pretty great
Ah yes, the song about burnt bread
God damn I love your content , there Is always somthing in your daily bulk of uploads that Im familiar with & you have great understanding and appreciation for the songs regardless of genre....keep up the good shit bud👍
Lol. Uncle Jesse digs Lotus Juice. That’s who was rapping it out. Him busting out the shades says “This is a jam”
Jam indeed for my burnt bread 😂
The lyrics in most persona tracks are very significant and poetic with context
The only other rap songs in video games that Immediately come to my mind are "I'm Back (to Rise)" from Killer Instinct, Ed's theme from SFV, any song associated with knuckles in Sonic Adventures 1 and 2, and (if you wanna listen to more of Lotus Juice's rapping) Mass Destruction from Persona 3.
i have my issues with persona 3, some of which is parts of the soundtrack, but every SMT game has incredible bangers. This is a personal favorite, always love your input.
Cant wait for your reaction to Last Surprise (P5) and Mass Destruction (P3)
A lot of the songs get remixes for the spin off games. The dancing games are pretty much all remixes, and there's also some really good mixes of the individual game's music genres in the Persona Q games, which cross over 3&4 in PQ, and 3, 4, & 5 in PQ2. This is especially prominent in PQ2's opening, which perfectly blends the 3 styles together
Thanks to Josh and DJSingleTone for requesting this.
Just, thank you.
These are the movie versions:
Persona 3 The Movie #1 Burn My Dread:
ua-cam.com/video/4pNDzL8w6XI/v-deo.html
Persona 3 The Movie #4 Burn My Dread - last battle - (future arrange):
ua-cam.com/video/9UieCoHm91E/v-deo.html
Last Battle is and isn't the song for the final boss.
The actual fight (which has about 14 total phases, the first 13 kind of being like a series of warm-up rounds) plays a different song: The Battle for Everyone's Souls
Last Battle happens in the fight after, playing out more like a cutscene, although you are still technically in a fight.
There's also a future arrange of Last Battle that gives it even more of an emotional edge to it.
There's another version, Burn My Dread -reincarnation- that is my favorite, you can find it on UA-cam too.
Ok now you have to try playing one of the persona games !!!! It's always an absolute joy to see more people experience it for the first time
And yes so many songs have different versions throught the course of the game
Not sure someone already mentioned, our characters need to trigger their psychic power in the battle in this title, by "SHOOT YOURSELVES IN THE HEAD" - That's why it says BURN YOUR DREAD.
Recomendations for persona music:
Whims of fate - Persona 5
The fog (Konishi remix) - Persona 4 Dancing
Burn My Dread (Last Battle MOVIE VERSION) - Persona 3 Movie (I know you already did the other version, but I think this remix is way more interesting)
This song got me to buy Persona 3. It was part of a trailer for the game, and along with the intro video sold me on its style and tone.
check out the persona 3 movie exclusive tracks too.
self redemption, light under starless sky, deep breath deep breath remix etc absolute fire all around.
More Than One Heart is legendary and the AMV they made for it in P3D is a real tearjerker
The first one is The extended version of the opening of p3
And The second is indeed, a battle theme that plays on The last battle of the game
burn my dread last battle is one of my favorite from persona serie (a LOT of songs between persona 3 and persona 5 are just pure gold)
Glad you heard the final battle version.
This is absolutely the song that got me into the Persona and SMT franchise.
Want more Lotus Juice? Another song with him is from persona q called "Laser Beam". It is also awesome (it's persona, need I say more).
You should listen to the Persona 3 FES Opening next.
'Do For Love' is a song that I think fits a combination of the two songs you mentioned. (Granted, different song.) It's not from persona, but Shoji Meguro DID compose it!
once playing the games you can really come to appreciate the lyrics that much more
The thing that I love about persona's song is the lyrics. Always uplifting and positive
I’m glad a friend of mine introduced me to the Persona series. Since then it’s became one of my favourite franchises of all time.
I hope enough requests stack up that you just listen to the entire persona 3 universe's discography for an entire day, one of the absolute best musical bodies of work in gaming history
hopefully some requests come in for Laser Beam and Nothing is Promised from PQ1/2 as well since he's taken a liking to Lotus Juice
It's called Burn My Dread Last Battle (future arrange).
man this saga is so good i started playing the game for accident and now is in my top 5 best videogames sagas of all time.
Second one was used as opening for persona 3 FES which expands a story a bit after the ending of base game
My favorite version of this is actually the Final Battle - Voice Mix Arrange, since it includes the relevant dialogue from the actual final battle. It uses the JP voices, and they are really good at portraying emotions, so those added lines of dialogue in between the rapping really hit hard without taking away from the music
dude i just started watching youre missing out on persona 4 music like "heaven" and "when the moons reaching out stars"
I really recommend listening to the main battle theme of Persona 3 "Mass Destruction," it's one of my favorite songs and the rapper Lotus Juice also sings it 😄
When's "Mass Destruction" tho
hmm.......
@@JessesAuditorium It's also from Persona 3~
It's on the waiting list :)
@@Sekainoowaride sooner than you may think
@@VelvetAura My Man~
In reference to your comments about hip hop - I'll always hold a spark of hope in my heart because one time I tweeted about how one of the Tartarus BGMs from P3 sounded like it belonged as a beat on the Big Boi/Sleepy Brown collab album (Big Sleepover) & then said I'd love to see Big Boi sample Persona (he's already sampled Miku Hatsune before, it's not out of the realm of possibility) & work with Lotus Juice someday and both Big Boi AND Lotus Juice liked the tweet. MY DREAM REMAINS!!
Imagine a Persona OST with Southern Hip Hop influence...
I think you should look for Triple Mix. Is more dramatic with the piano, but with elements from the second version
Hope you enjoyed it!!
SMT/Persona music just hits so hard. I LOVE it.
The Intro song and the final boss fight song. Seems fitting. Both really capture the essence of Persona 3. Persona music really is good
There's a movie rendition of Mass Destruction last battle that's a really great version of it. Definitely would recommend giving the movie versions a listen, as they're all remastered and redone with new instrumentals and lyrics for some of them.
The rapper's name is Lotus Juice
This is the opening to literally my favorite game of all time, and the first thing that ever inspired me to get a tattoo.
Edit: This is also the final battle to literally my favorite game of all time, and the first thing that ever inspired me to get a tattoo.
On the real real though, this game is amazing, I just wish there were an actual definitive edition (I can understand the FES and the P3P crowds. I just want both in one package.) I recommend the hell out of this game if you're down for a long and great turn based JRPG.
Also, the rapper is Lotus Juice if I'm not mistaken.
The final battle burn my dread will forever be my favorite track in the whole game
If you like Burn My Dread (Final Battle) You gotta listen to the Dancing Moon Night's Opening song: Our Moment or the Persona 3 FES Opening: P3 FES.
The song from Persona 3 FES's intro, simply called "FES", sounds like it would be right up your alley. It's unfortunately very short, but it's damn good.
That lotus juice is everything, p3 music is founded in funk
My favorite Persona game and my most favorite songs in all persona games.
To clarify, this from the last _story_ battle. The prior battle is the game's _actual_ final boss, with this one being an unlosable, scripted battle.
