Wow, how cool is it to get commented by the author herself! I haven't heard about you Ms. Hathaway, but will make sure to familiarize with your work! Groof, great job!
This Amazing woman has not only a range to kick your bottom, she crossed generations past present and future and bringing her polyphonic overtone (I think is the vocal description) vocalising into this music is simply breathtaking.
Her original version of this song came out in 1990. My dad used to blast her album ALL the time. I was 7 years old lol. The studio version is WAY more simple than this live version. I prefer this latest rendition.
A Song For You was certainly a signature tune for Donny Hathaway but it was actually written by Leon Russell. Kudos to you guys for doing a reaction to this amazing performance.
I love it! He said he gets caught up in the music (I totally do too!) You were like “mmm you’re not gonna be able to ignore her in the next few minutes!” I love watching people find a piece of music that I’ve loved for so long! Michael League is the most underrated musical genius ever!
Jozef, thank you so much for the motivating words!! It's already really fun for us to record the videos and if you guys enjoy our content, then that's even more rewarding.
It is a chord. And it's not "overtone" singing. Lalah's vocal chords do something extremely rare--she talks about it in a video I wish I could find the URL for, but when she does it, one chord vibrates while the other doesn't and nobody can explain why or how she's able to control it. They actually filmed it to find out what the deal was but no one knows how or why it happened.
I loved watching your reactions guys! Tim went from "yeah, ok" to "OMG"! But I really enjoyed watching Groof's reaction! I can tell he has watched that video eleventy-seven times a day (I know I have)! I could see and feel his absolute joy in listening to Lalah and sometimes singing along! Great job, guys!
glad you enjoyed!!!!! XOXO
Wow!!! Lalah, is that you? We were totally mesmerized by your performance!! We hope you can go back on tour soon and to see you perform live someday!

Omg! She watched it! This is amazing😍
Gaaaahhh I love Corey too!!
Best part is coming! He had no idea!!!
It is a chord. She has that kind of control. Sometimes, she can sing 4 notes at once.
she's able to split her vocal cords or something. lalah hathaway is amazing
Yeah, she totally is!
It’s a technique of Mongolian throat singing. To see it used like this to harmonise with HERSELF is just insane.

She is singing a 2 part chord with her voice

She's actually singing 3 notes in a chord. Nuts!

Yeah she was singing polyphonic. 2 notes together.
My friend in the Blue shirt, keep feeling💕
She’s scatting! Then she’s doing overtone singing with two to three notes simultaneously! It’s an African tribal vocal tradition!

And yes you can have control, but that's just ignorance of music period
You stopped the vid. That is a sin, therefore I will not subscribe. Sorry.
