At those prices Thailand can wait until it becomes sensible in its pricing. ST or LT (short time or long time) are out of the hemisphere for me. Even of I was a multi millionaire I would not allow myself to be scalped in this manner. BF: (bar fine) They would have to be joking !! LD (ladies drink) once again they are out of their mind !! When i was in Patts last, ( December 2019) I didn`t even go down Walking Street. Most of the Bars i visited were around the Tree Town area. SMIT , Diana or Pot Hole. Some very beautiful Women would come and talk to me and ask me if i wanted to BF them. I never bought them LD or paid any BF. A lot of them finished work at 1AM so were then free to do what they wanted. I got LT for 2000 Baht in my Hotel and she stayed with me till 4pm the next Day. You don`t need to pay BF`s in Pattaya. Walking Street is a Tourist Rip Off.
A bank manager will earn half of that if lucky. the minimum wage here is 300- 350 bt a day.don't feel sorry for these girls they have way more money than you think!
Totally agreed. I use line, set up an account with Thai SIM card. Then whenever I meet someone add get them to add me. Get heaps of messages each day asking if wanting to catch up, I'd send them details of the bar I'd be at drinking for the day and they would find me. No ladydrinks, uncommon to pay bar fines and paid 3000b for LT (1000 upfront, 2000 at the end). Gives you total flexibility, meeting them at ibar, beer bars, restaurants or rooftop bars. Only problem is within days you have dozens of woman messaging you (oh how terrible!) which of course you just mute the app
Those prices are ridiculous. Glad I got to enjoy the place when the prices were relatively low compared to these days. Can't see myself there having anymore big nights when I return. What are the prices like at LK Metro? Another good video Daz.

I went out on Walking street for the first time since moving here last week and I can confirm this price report. On my last visit (9 years ago), Sapphire ruled Supreme. I'm talking 50 girls and a dozen 9.5s or better. Sadly, those days are gone. There were two 8s, a few 7s, a bunch of 6s and nothing below a 4. Next, Fahrenheit. All in all, this was, IMHO the best of the evening. I only went to Sapphire, Fahrenheit and Pin ups, but all things considered, Fahrenheit was the best. Pin Ups had more girls but were a little skankier. Lots and LOTS of tattoos, not my thing. I could be wrong, but I remember BFs being around $12 to $15 US. Now they are running between $30 to $50 US!!! Insane! In fact, I think it is already hurting business. I saw a lot of guys walk in, buy a drink...flirt a bit... then bail out. I think tripling the BF price is reducing the # of closers. As for the ST/ LT prices, they haven't changed that much. The hotties still want 3,000. What has changed is the 5s want 3,000 too. Interesting side note, I was told by my new "friend" that the pressure is on to only do STs and get back to the bar to work and possibly another BF in the same night. I get that the bars are trying to recover but this is bad long term policy. The whole experience is pushing me towards Soi Bukhaoi and other venues... yes, you need to wade your way through the grannies, 4s and LBs who need a shave, but there are some rock solid 8s out there and far more reasonable on the budget. 🍺🍺
It's not just the boss who wants short time the girls want it to 3 short times a night at let's say 2k is 6 k that's 250 Aussie dollars for 3 hours work I don't understand why the Japanese and Korean men come and pay these prices when their girls are as hot

I'm assuming the laws of supply and demand will regulate the prices eventually. As thousands and thousands of girls show up to service the increased number tourists, prices should come down. I think these early-post Covid months will be a short-lived price discovery phase. No sense in leaving the village if there are no customers. Once girls report a swell in business and start sending home huge checks again every month, there will be a never ending supply of new labor. Word travels fast. But for the time being, all the spiked prices and girls getting daily retainer fees etc are a clear sign they think they have the upper hand.
You are quite correct that the strategy now is ST, for various reasons. A shame really, as although guys in Pattaya are often called s-tourists, the secret is many are actually relationship-tourists; scarred by disappointment in the West, and seeking love. But...that's a 2 Chang conversation.
It seems the prices have remained the same since before Covid. It's very easy to spend around £250 a night just visiting several bars on Walking Street without taking the girls out of the bar so guys be careful as it can be very expensive. I am a younger backpacker so definitely those prices are way out of my league. 160 Baht for a beer? Sheesh that's even more than what I pay back home. I rather drink at 711 for sure for 40 Baht.

I think there are 3 explanations: 1) Many tourist places in SE Asia have this mentality of "making up" for lost time. It's very self-centered and doesn't focus on the customer. I've seen this in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. It's all about them trying to catch up, nothing about the needs of the customer. 2) Despite all their experience, many Asian businesses (except for Japan), usually value NEW customers instead of LOYAL customers. "Why worry about your needs, a new customer will come along and take your place." Only smart small businesses during Covid realized this, many still focus on the "new" customer. 3) Inflation - the dirty "I" word is around the world. Just because news outlets don't mention it in SE Asia, doesn't mean that it does not exist. Inflation is very much in play at the moment.
So true. Scam someone for a baht today instead of giving them value for their visit and have them coming back AND telling their friends about the great time they had afterwards. Nope, none of that matters. Just like how they drive, in business there is ZERO situational awareness.
Pricing isn't rigid. They might be telling you that's what they are asking, but there's always some wiggle going on inside. I will tell you that the club owners have gotten together and are attempting to keep from racing each other to the bottom for customers; in effect trying to keep a price floor. I don't think you'll see prices spike as more tourists come to town. Finally, in terms of the available "quality", what doesn't get spoken of a lot are the impacts of the agency girls. Most of the hottest girls in nearly all of these clubs (even if they appear to be perpetually on staff) are agency hires. They sign limited contracts with the clubs via agencies that negotiate rates and terms like a union. Many of the agency girls are not yet back; they simply aren't getting their normal rates.
Coming in July with the thought that it will be my final trip to Thailand. With what is happening around the world and the sky high prices, as much as I ❤ Thai ladies, it may not be worth it anymore.
wow, Some Nana Plaza Agogos are cheaper than Walking street. My, how things have changed. I am in Patts next week and will keep well away from Walking street and stay in Pattaya Klang where most ST's in bars are 1K to1.5k and LT between 2K and 3K and the quality will be equivalent to the Agogo's in Walking Street where the standards have dropped anyway. Can't see me coming back to Walking Street or the surrounding area anytime soon with those prices you had in this video
Business will be difficult at these prices, and when business is not going well, you can be sure every scam in the book will be coming your way. Run no tabs, pay as you go, and always confirm the price and the amount of drinks you are buying BEFORE they bring you the drinks.
Good luck to them if they can get away with it but those prices won't be seeing the tourists flocking back in the thousands as most of the businesses and girls seem to think will happen once the covid situation is no longer a factor. I was there just over 4 years ago for 6 weeks at the height of the season and the impression I got of the city was the supply (bars, girls, restaurants and hotels) far exceeded the demand. Sure a lot of places were doing ok but an awful lot were struggling to get them in through the doors. The attraction of Pattaya used to be value for money and if that's no longer the case then the fortnight millionaires will be a thing of the past. Love the excellent content Daz, this is exactly what people want to know, hard facts. You are basically looking at 5k baht ST all inc, and 7k baht LT all inc per day with 1 drink each!! I mean that is ridculous, european prices for sure!
Median salary Thailand year 2021: 10 000 baht/month todays USD: 288 Median salary Sweden 2021: 32 500 SEK/month USD today: approx 3250 Cost ST in Sweden(freelancer or thaimassage): 150-200 USD Cost ST in gogo bar: 150 USD So the same price. Gogos are equally priced for ST as the FKK in Germany or even more expensive if you can manage with around 100-120 euros in one of them(entrance and one ST). Thats in a country where the median wage is about a tenth of that in Germany and Sweden. In the long run i am really doubtfull if it can be sustained.
I was at windmill 2 weeks ago and the lady that I bought a drink for said it was 7000! I didn’t ask if that was a long time or short time. Plus the bar fine which I honestly forget, but the 7000 just floored me. And she had a tattoo that said she was born in 84! She did her best to hide the tattoo. I was really shocked. The windmill was one of my favorite places pre-Covid.
I’m still interested in checking it out as a retirement spot as cost of living still seems reasonable but as a party vacation? Uhm, NO! Not at those prices.
Those prices are insane. Between a few beers, a couple of lady drinks, a bar fine and a LT and taxi home you are looking at 7-8,000 THB or $200-$230. I can go to FKK club in Germany, meet top quality models who speak perfect English, drink and eat food all day and use the pool in the club for half the price. People will not pay to fly halfway around the World and then be gouged on these prices for sessions with average looking women. They will go somewhere else such as Germany, South America or Vietnam.

Thank you DAZ For this info, I think you are the best for all info as regards to Pattaya, most do not scratch the surface they are to consumed in them selfs, I'm old school and had to learn the hard way. Thailand 1990 was my first visit. I'm 70 now and would be there now if I was in good health. Finally because I'm house bound the amount of vlogs I watch about Thailand and the rest is unbeliveable.

Daz, I have been going to Pattaya for many years and never drunk in Walking St, its always been more expensive than other areas, it is geared towards the unknowing tourists, give me Soi Buakhao anytime, but very informative vid !
£3.50 for a bottle of beer that costs a approx 90p in a 7/11. Ex pats never go there unless they are showing a 1st time visitor/friend around Pattaya and then we quickly guide them away from the area. The whole street needs to be revamped and cleaned up. LK Metro is a lot more lively and tourist friendly, Soi Bekow is coming alive again.
I retired here in Pattaya. Walking street is now just for tourists. Gogo in LK paradise or destiny 120 buy one get one free until 9.30 pm. Best value restaurant/ Gogo in Pattaya. For me Thai friendly girl in the afternoon night time drinking LK billabong or Time
Gogo Bars have agreed to the same LT and ST pricing. No way I would pay that. I remember when we could negociate ST and LT with the girls and not the gogo bar.
Used to sit at a little bar called dangs bar about 8 pm by the doll house watching all the ladies arriving for work at the Gogo bars .very relaxing .of course ate Thai food at dangs bar which was excellent as well .
The only way to combat the high pricing is to ask them about it, and then walk away when you hear it. If enough patrons keep doing that, they should get the message. I don't know if you can bargain with them about ST/BF or not, but I'd like to. Being there, I got the vibe that they don't really care about ST, only getting as many drinks out of you as possible. 🤷🏻♂️

The last 3 times I went to Pattaya I did not go to walking street, 1) because in my opinion it’s overrated, 2) very expensive and the most important, too crowded. I prefer to stay in the LK metro, Soi Buakhao, Soi 7&8 areas, mainly areas where expats like to hang around. Thanks for the video, it looks like little by little tourists are returning.

The prices are ridiculous, go to the Philippines the pricing system is much easy, BF all included is 4000PHP (80USD) - no separate payment for the girl, just pay the bar, and that's for LT (you actually close LT or ST with the girl, but there is no different price). Also plenty of FL for much less, around 2000PHP (40USD).
Insane prices. Gone are the days of bang fest with 6 girls within 10k baht. What I know of is that Phuket’s LT and ST are more expensive. But imo this is just irrational pricing and they’ll have to bring it down as time goes by. You can’t run a potato shop by selling them at the price of Kobe beef
Early this century spent a lot of my nights in WS gogos. Total takeaway costs then for LT was only a few hundred baht more than girls from beer bars. Now the difference is thousands. Last time barfined from a gogo was March 2016, from Club Electric Blue on Soi15. Cost was about half the prices mentioned in this vid. Still was not worth it. Hope to be back in July so gogos only for a drink and look. Those that pay these prices must be rich and desperate. Sooo Sad........ Thanks for the info..

Palace used to have the best looking young women. Pin up is bigger, but Palace had the edge in quality. Looking at the price and the hassles of Thailand, I think we will see people set up in Cambodia, Burma, or wherever else you can be free and have a good time.
Philippines here we come? Shame about what the pandemic did to Pattaya, but only fools and newbies would fly 7,000 miles AND pay those rates. I spent a total of 10 months between 2008-12, few nights BKK but 95% was Pattaya/Chiang Mai. Thailand will always be a special place for me, I’ve matured and it’s not only about the ladies anymore. But anyone who dresses well, speaks some Thai, and is in town for a while will probably still score some sweet girls for next to nothing. Every time I go to Pataya, I always prefer LK Metro area. Walking street just seems more like a tourist trap with everything being more expensive. Maybe you can do a video on the prices of beer/bar fines around the LK metro Plex, I know I would appreciate that. Planning a trip for this September/October.

I can understand the high prices for LD and Bar fines...the rents on and around WS are ASTRONOMICAL...but I would think the girls would be more reasonable about their LT and ST pricing....very little chance they will get even ONE customer each night at those prices... The girls don't care if they don't Bar Fine, they are on a 10 to 15K monthly salary + 50 baht every drink + tips, 100baht every time. They no longer need the extra money, they have enough already.

As a 70 year old Scotsman, who was planning to spend 6 months in SEAsia from Sept, Thailand is just pricing itself out of the market. I used to part own a bar in the Philippines in the early 80's. 24 bottles of San Mig cost £2.40 & Tanduay Rum was £0.80 a bottle. Happy days!
great report and very accurate as I live near by,,,, the thing I have noticed is that BF have slightly increased but the quality of the model is lower and limited. to have one drink for yourself, one lady drink, her bar fine and ST is easily +5000 but more likely +6500 if you and she are having a good time....before you leave the bar....it seems to be the usual reoccurring bar economic strategy,,,, less customers increase the price... all for the millionaire vacation boys....
This comment hits the nail on the head. I used to OCCASIONALY pay these prices on Walking Street (pre Covid). But the reason that I did, was because of the incredibly high quantity of absolute stunners in the Walking Street GoGos. But if that has diminished....FORGET IT!

Daz, another well informed video of current “entertainment” costs of modern day Pattaya. As a senior, I would limit my ventures to gents clubs to obtain value for money. Or, another option, go west for the Caribbean and Latin America offer much the same but at more reasonable prices. As always Daz, all the best to you!
I still think SEA is way way superior to anything the Caribbean or S America has to offer. I've never been worried about being knifed in Pattaya. In addition, the food and lifestyle is far superior in Thailand/SEA.

Great info👍. I use to go to the GGs as a rookie LT was 3 or 4 at the most with absolute stunners. Today I prefer the MPs. Find a diamond in the rough and LT if possible. Less hassle with LDs every 3 minutes and bin padding etc.. im gonna watch this video 4 times to get an hours worth of viewing time. I appreciate the effort of getting the rundown on places along W.S.
Same. It never cost me much 10 years ago, but I also didn’t BF from agogos often. Not on purpose, just happened I liked beer bars, Soi 6, and massage spots better. But oh my some of the lineups - Peppermint upstairs, and Rainbow 4 in BKK Nana were personally the 2 most amazing for volume of stunners
I get that the bars are trying to claw money back from a horrendous 2 years but this is unsustainable and frankly will price around half the customers out. It's very rare that customers will buy only one LD as they are so small they can drink at least 3 before you finish your 80bt draught beer or 160bt bottle/ 200bt short.so if you have 3 beers you could buy 9 lady drinks. That's well over 50 quid for less than an hour's entertainment. It's worth pointing out that most of these drinks will be cordial or soda packed with ice so that they can be downed in one. and a shot of tequila is 200bt. If you decide to BF for ST that's another hundred quid. Obviously the longer you stay the more you pay so this is just an estimate. The days of having a great time for 3k bt on WS are well and truly over. Couple this with some piss poor attitudes from the girls and staff as you mentioned and it becomes exclusive for 2-week millionaires. Yes, you can still have a good time but the girls now run everything, and managers are scared to lay rules down as the attractive dancers can get a job at any GO GO they choose as there is currently a severe shortage of attractive girls the 5 out of tens are now 8s.Thanks for a very informative and thorough video.
But most of the time when business trying to recover their money very fast it’s easy could fire back on them and get them out of business or drop the price to stay in business and bring a lot of traffic to inside the door. I see so many good business close down because they did over price their service. It’s always new business not far from well established business hungry for $$$$$$ customers and welling to compete and bringing customers to their establishment with cheaper prices.
The Czech Republic is looking more attractive every day! Much cheaper and quicker to fly there, good quality beer at very reasonable prices, depending what time of year you travel, plenty of air BnB apartments at good prices, and as long as you don't hit the gentleman's club, the independent ladies are better value, especially if you're looking for a ST!
Been to Pattaya many times over the years and have a strong dislike for walking street, apart from the beer garden at the bottom i’d happily leave the rest. Give me LK metro and even soi 6 any day of the week!

Thanks for the info. I've been to Pattaya at least 5 times but sorry to say I won't be back. Those prices are astronomical in comparison to many other places. You are doing a great job, but since 1999 when I first went to Thailand, it has been deteriorating, less smiles, more rip offs, people surgically attached to cellphones etc. I guess they've just hardened up, but I also suspect that many tourists will not return, at least from the English speaking countries.
Thank you for the video and information on the Walking street bars. I'm coming back to Pattaya January next year for the first time in 32 years, do not think I will bother going to Walking street, will stick to the area around L K Metro.

When i was in Patts last, ( December 2019) I didn`t even go down Walking Street. Most of the Bars i visited were around the Tree Town area. SMIT , Diana or Pot Hole. Some very beautiful Women would come and talk to me and ask me if i wanted to BF them. I never bought them LD or paid any BF. A lot of them finished work at 1AM so were then free to do what they wanted. I got LT for 2000 Baht in my Hotel and she stayed with me till 4pm the next Day. You don`t need to pay BF`s in Pattaya. Walking Street is a Tourist Rip Off.
As are many of the Soi 6 Bars.

Totally agreed. I use line, set up an account with Thai SIM card. Then whenever I meet someone add get them to add me. Get heaps of messages each day asking if wanting to catch up, I'd send them details of the bar I'd be at drinking for the day and they would find me. No ladydrinks, uncommon to pay bar fines and paid 3000b for LT (1000 upfront, 2000 at the end).
Gives you total flexibility, meeting them at ibar, beer bars, restaurants or rooftop bars.
Only problem is within days you have dozens of woman messaging you (oh how terrible!) which of course you just mute the app

I went out on Walking street for the first time since moving here last week and I can confirm this price report.
On my last visit (9 years ago), Sapphire ruled Supreme. I'm talking 50 girls and a dozen 9.5s or better. Sadly, those days are gone. There were two 8s, a few 7s, a bunch of 6s and nothing below a 4.
Next, Fahrenheit. All in all, this was, IMHO the best of the evening. I only went to Sapphire, Fahrenheit and Pin ups, but all things considered, Fahrenheit was the best. Pin Ups had more girls but were a little skankier. Lots and LOTS of tattoos, not my thing.
I could be wrong, but I remember BFs being around $12 to $15 US. Now they are running between $30 to $50 US!!! Insane! In fact, I think it is already hurting business. I saw a lot of guys walk in, buy a drink...flirt a bit... then bail out. I think tripling the BF price is reducing the # of closers.
As for the ST/ LT prices, they haven't changed that much. The hotties still want 3,000.
What has changed is the 5s want 3,000 too.
Interesting side note, I was told by my new "friend" that the pressure is on to only do STs and get back to the bar to work and possibly another BF in the same night.
I get that the bars are trying to recover but this is bad long term policy. The whole experience is pushing me towards Soi Bukhaoi and other venues... yes, you need to wade your way through the grannies, 4s and LBs who need a shave, but there are some rock solid 8s out there and far more reasonable on the budget. 🍺🍺

I would say only the truly popular ones are getting more than 1 a night. I'm serious, I don't remember actually seeing a guy leave with a BF. I'm sure it happened, but in 3 bars from 9p til midnight.... I didn't see it.
I'm assuming the laws of supply and demand will regulate the prices eventually. As thousands and thousands of girls show up to service the increased number tourists, prices should come down. I think these early-post Covid months will be a short-lived price discovery phase. No sense in leaving the village if there are no customers.
Once girls report a swell in business and start sending home huge checks again every month, there will be a never ending supply of new labor. Word travels fast.
But for the time being, all the spiked prices and girls getting daily retainer fees etc are a clear sign they think they have the upper hand.

You are quite correct that the strategy now is ST, for various reasons. A shame really, as although guys in Pattaya are often called s-tourists, the secret is many are actually relationship-tourists; scarred by disappointment in the West, and seeking love. But...that's a 2 Chang conversation.
It seems the prices have remained the same since before Covid. It's very easy to spend around £250 a night just visiting several bars on Walking Street without taking the girls out of the bar so guys be careful as it can be very expensive. I think there are 3 explanations:
1) Many tourist places in SE Asia have this mentality of "making up" for lost time. It's very self-centered and doesn't focus on the customer. I've seen this in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. It's all about them trying to catch up, nothing about the needs of the customer.
2) Despite all their experience, many Asian businesses (except for Japan), usually value NEW customers instead of LOYAL customers. "Why worry about your needs, a new customer will come along and take your place." Only smart small businesses during Covid realized this, many still focus on the "new" customer.
3) Inflation - the dirty "I" word is around the world. Just because news outlets don't mention it in SE Asia, doesn't mean that it does not exist. Inflation is very much in play at the moment.
So true. Scam someone for a baht today instead of giving them value for their visit and have them coming back AND telling their friends about the great time they had afterwards. Nope, none of that matters. Just like how they drive, in business there is ZERO situational awareness.

Pricing isn't rigid. They might be telling you that's what they are asking, but there's always some wiggle going on inside.
I will tell you that the club owners have gotten together and are attempting to keep from racing each other to the bottom for customers; in effect trying to keep a price floor. I don't think you'll see prices spike as more tourists come to town.
Finally, in terms of the available "quality", what doesn't get spoken of a lot are the impacts of the agency girls. Most of the hottest girls in nearly all of these clubs (even if they appear to be perpetually on staff) are agency hires. They sign limited contracts with the clubs via agencies that negotiate rates and terms like a union. Many of the agency girls are not yet back; they simply aren't getting their normal rates.
Coming in July with the thought that it will be my final trip to Thailand. With what is happening around the world and the sky high prices, as much as I ❤ Thai ladies, it may not be worth it anymore.
wow, Some Nana Plaza Agogos are cheaper than Walking street. My, how things have changed. I am in Patts next week and will keep well away from Walking street and stay in Pattaya Klang where most ST's in bars are 1K to1.5k and LT between 2K and 3K and the quality will be equivalent to the Agogo's in Walking Street where the standards have dropped anyway. Business will be difficult at these prices, and when business is not going well, you can be sure every scam in the book will be coming your way. Run no tabs, pay as you go, and always confirm the price and the amount of drinks you are buying BEFORE they bring you the drinks.
A great friend of mine who lives in Pattaya once told me “If you’re paying those prices,you’re looking in the wrong places!” That was 10 years ago!
Good luck to them if they can get away with it but those prices won't be seeing the tourists flocking back in the thousands as most of the businesses and girls seem to think will happen once the covid situation is no longer a factor. I was there just over 4 years ago for 6 weeks at the height of the season and the impression I got of the city was the supply (bars, girls, restaurants and hotels) far exceeded the demand. Sure a lot of places were doing ok but an awful lot were struggling to get them in through the doors. The attraction of Pattaya used to be value for money and if that's no longer the case then the fortnight millionaires will be a thing of the past. The greed is going to kill the goose that lays the golden egg or more to the point, the geese will be taking their winter migration elsewhere. Good video though Daz.

Cost ST in Sweden(freelancer or thaimassage): 150-200 USD
Cost ST in gogo bar: 150 USD
So the same price. Gogos are equally priced for ST as the FKK in Germany or even more expensive if you can manage with around 100-120 euros in one of them(entrance and one ST). Thats in a country where the median wage is about a tenth of that in Germany and Sweden. In the long run i am really doubtfull if it can be sustained.

I was at windmill 2 weeks ago and the lady that I bought a drink for said it was 7000! I didn’t ask if that was a long time or short time. Plus the bar fine which I honestly forget, but the 7000 just floored me. And she had a tattoo that said she was born in 84! She did her best to hide the tattoo. I was really shocked. The windmill was one of my favorite places pre-Covid.

Those prices are insane. Between a few beers, a couple of lady drinks, a bar fine and a LT and taxi home you are looking at 7-8,000 THB or $200-$230. I can go to FKK club in Germany, meet top quality models who speak perfect English, drink and eat food all day and use the pool in the club for half the price.
People will not pay to fly halfway around the World and then be gouged on these prices for sessions with average looking women. They will go somewhere else such as Germany, South America or Vietnam.

Daz, I have been going to Pattaya for many years and never drunk in Walking St, its always been more expensive than other areas, it is geared towards the unknowing tourists, give me Soi Buakhao anytime, but very informative vid !
£3.50 for a bottle of beer that costs a approx 90p in a 7/11. Ex pats never go there unless they are showing a 1st time visitor/friend around Pattaya and then we quickly guide them away from the area. The whole street needs to be revamped and cleaned up. LK Metro is a lot more lively and tourist friendly, Soi Bekow is coming alive again.
Soi Buakhao is for us locals. Shh, don't tell the tourists!

The only way to combat the high pricing is to ask them about it, and then walk away when you hear it. If enough patrons keep doing that, they should get the message. I don't know if you can bargain with them about ST/BF or not, but I'd like to. Being there, I got the vibe that they don't really care about ST, only getting as many drinks out of you as possible. 🤷🏻♂️

The last 3 times I went to Pattaya I did not go to walking street, 1) because in my opinion it’s overrated, 2) very expensive and the most important, too crowded. I prefer to stay in the LK metro, Soi Buakhao, Soi 7&8 areas, mainly areas where expats like to hang around. Thanks for the video, it looks like little by little tourists are returning.

So many of the other vloggers have so they avoid pricing and any facts that might harm the trade and pump out false info. You need to watch your step a little cannot see you being too welcome at some places in the future
The prices are ridiculous, go to the Philippines the pricing system is much easy, BF all included is 4000PHP (80USD) - no separate payment for the girl, just pay the bar, and that's for LT (you actually close LT or ST with the girl, but there is no different price). Also plenty of FL for much less, around 2000PHP (40USD).

Insane prices. Gone are the days of bang fest with 6 girls within 10k baht. What I know of is that Phuket’s LT and ST are more expensive. But imo this is just irrational pricing and they’ll have to bring it down as time goes by. You can’t run a potato shop by selling them at the price of Kobe beef
Early this century spent a lot of my nights in WS gogos. Total takeaway costs then for LT was only a few hundred baht more than girls from beer bars. Now the difference is thousands. Last time barfined from a gogo was March 2016, from Club Electric Blue on Soi15. Cost was about half the prices mentioned in this vid. Still was not worth it. Hope to be back in July so gogos only for a drink and look.

Philippines here we come? Shame about what the pandemic did to Pattaya, but only fools and newbies would fly 7,000 miles AND pay those rates. I spent a total of 10 months between 2008-12, few nights BKK but 95% was Pattaya/Chiang Mai. Thailand will always be a special place for me, I’ve matured and it’s not only about the ladies anymore. But anyone who dresses well, speaks some Thai, and is in town for a while will probably still score some sweet girls for next to nothing. But the Pattaya nightlife of old is a distant memory, unfortunately. Glad I visited when I did, too bad I was too pissed to remember many nights

Every time I go to Pataya, I always prefer LK Metro area. Walking street just seems more like a tourist trap with everything being more expensive. Maybe you can do a video on the prices of beer/bar fines around the LK metro Plex, I know I would appreciate that. Planning a trip for this September/October.

Thanks for sharing Daz, it's very strange how the Thais skyrocket their prices to make up for lost revenue, plus they must be aware of the current state of affairs regarding no tourists from certain countries, which just leaves Indians = tight as cramp, English = more realistic, American's = no way buddy, Australian's = jeez get a grip mate etc etc, not a good mentality to have to get people flocking again! ASTRONOMICAL...but I would think the girls would be more reasonable about their LT and ST pricing....very little chance they will get even ONE customer each night at those prices...

The girls don't care if they don't Bar Fine, they are on a 10 to 15K monthly salary + 50 baht every drink + tips, 100baht every time. They no longer need the extra money, they have enough already.

Thailand is cheap but...that is still not a wage that will pay for even an AVERAGE life style...even if 2-3 of the girls share an apartment...$525 per month isn't enough for makeup 💄,petrol,food and phones ...will be interesting to see how it all works out 🤞

My first visit was in 2004. Absolutely kicking myself every day for all the times I could have gone there dating back to 1986 when I was living in California. All of the 90s I had money and was also living in California. I have been 15 times and chomping at the bit to semi retire from my work this year and if all the COVID nonsense is over, head to thailaind.

As a 70 year old Scotsman, who was planning to spend 6 months in SEAsia from Sept, Thailand is just pricing itself out of the market. I used to part own a bar in the Philippines in the early 80's. 24 bottles of San Mig cost £2.40 & Tanduay Rum was £0.80 a bottle. Happy days!

great report and very accurate as I live near by,,,, the thing I have noticed is that BF have slightly increased but the quality of the model is lower and limited. to have one drink for yourself, one lady drink, her bar fine and ST is easily +5000 but more likely +6500 if you and she are having a good time....before you leave the bar....it seems to be the usual reoccurring bar economic strategy,,,, less customers increase the price... all for the millionaire vacation boys....

I used to OCCASIONALY pay these prices on Walking Street (pre Covid). But the reason that I did, was because of the incredibly high quantity of absolute stunners in the Walking Street GoGos. But if that has diminished....FORGET IT!
Prices are ridiculous, I take that the 49B draught beers have gone?..you’re right about the dolls house I’ve had some of the best nights of pure fun in that place…..as someone commented typical thai logic..trying to scrape back every baht they’ve lost, whilst forgetting every one else has been experiencing a similar thing…..

Daz, another well informed video of current “entertainment” costs of modern day Pattaya. As a senior, I would limit my ventures to gents clubs to obtain value for money. Or, another option, go west for the Caribbean and Latin America offer much the same but at more reasonable prices. As always Daz, all the best to you!
I still think SEA is way way superior to anything the Caribbean or S America has to offer. I've never been worried about being knifed in Pattaya. In addition, the food and lifestyle is far superior in Thailand/SEA.

Great info👍. I use to go to the GGs as a rookie LT was 3 or 4 at the most with absolute stunners. Today I prefer the MPs. Find a diamond in the rough and LT if possible. Less hassle with LDs every 3 minutes and bin padding etc.. im gonna watch this video 4 times to get an hours worth of viewing time. I appreciate the effort of getting the rundown on places along W.S.
Same. It never cost me much 10 years ago, but I also didn’t BF from agogos often. Not on purpose, just happened I liked beer bars, Soi 6, and massage spots better. But oh my some of the lineups - Peppermint upstairs, and Rainbow 4 in BKK Nana were personally the 2 most amazing for volume of stunners

I get that the bars are trying to claw money back from a horrendous 2 years but this is unsustainable and frankly will price around half the customers out. It's very rare that customers will buy only one LD as they are so small they can drink at least 3 before you finish your 80bt draught beer or 160bt bottle/ 200bt short.so if you have 3 beers you could buy 9 lady drinks. That's well over 50 quid for less than an hour's entertainment. It's worth pointing out that most of these drinks will be cordial or soda packed with ice so that they can be downed in one. and a shot of tequila is 200bt. If you decide to BF for ST that's another hundred quid. Obviously the longer you stay the more you pay so this is just an estimate. The days of having a great time for 3k bt on WS are well and truly over. Couple this with some piss poor attitudes from the girls and staff as you mentioned and it becomes exclusive for 2-week millionaires. Yes, you can still have a good time but the girls now run everything, and managers are scared to lay rules down as the attractive dancers can get a job at any GO GO they choose as there is currently a severe shortage of attractive girls the 5 out of tens are now 8s.Thanks for a very informative and thorough video.

But most of the time when business trying to recover their money very fast it’s easy could fire back on them and get them out of business or drop the price to stay in business and bring a lot of traffic to inside the door. I see so many good business close down because they did over price their service. It’s always new business not far from well established business hungry for $$$$$$ customers and welling to compete and bringing customers to their establishment with cheaper prices.

The Czech Republic is looking more attractive every day! Much cheaper and quicker to fly there, good quality beer at very reasonable prices, depending what time of year you travel, plenty of air BnB apartments at good prices, and as long as you don't hit the gentleman's club, the independent ladies are better value, especially if you're looking for a ST!

If you checked in Palace like Pin up they have a few lookers but same ridiculous prices and like I said before your viewers are in for a shock if they return to Pattaya because these same ridiculous prices are showing up everywhere including beer bars, GoGo”s on LK even with low quality staff, freelancers too. It’s a "mess"..

Thanks for the info. I've been to Pattaya at least 5 times but sorry to say I won't be back. Those prices are astronomical in comparison to many other places. You are doing a great job, but since 1999 when I first went to Thailand, it has been deteriorating, less smiles, more rip offs, people surgically attached to cellphones etc. I guess they've just hardened up, but I also suspect that many tourists will not return, at least from the English speaking countries.
