That's why people that self sacrifice for others including you family receive very little appreciation then they become resentful.
We are wrong to presume that anyone expects a self sacrifice from us. They truly don't. It's us being brought up to think that it is necessary and appreciated. The more you look after yourself, the more you have to give without sacrificing.

Beginning to understand this so much I care about myself but like a sponge I soak up the needs of others as if it was my own then I get exploited for this generous gesture and resent others for it.
I strive for greatness. I dress well, keep fit, eat low carb, and don't drink alcohol. Yet I get the feeling my work colleagues think I'm weird or not following in line with societal norms. I get the feeling they resent me because of it.
Same here..I don't care though. I take pride in.my stoicism.

@@NOLA-le7rl I'm a guy. It happens everywhere I go, rendering the beginning of the book incorrect. In reality, humans are envious creatures and don't like others striving for better than them.
If you don't seek external validation and feel comfortable with your choice of life style, they will soon sense it and will accept you for who you are.
Being introverted doesn't mean lacking confidence
The recording said "lacking confidence and tends to be introverted." So, it wasn't said for them to be the something, but for both characteristics maybe present at the same time. 🤓

I know it sounds selfish, but you need to love yourself and be happy with yourself before finding your ideal partner, if you don't know how to love yourself how will you know how to love others, love starts from within and not outside. You need to be happy, genuinely happy as this will radiate from you. You attract what you are and what you feel.

Arguably I feel like it’s no selfish at all. It’s weird how most people naturally are kind to strangers but are not kind to themselves. Love ourself is the bare minimum, and honestly I think loving ourselves is the gateway to living a more fulfilling life

That was a good book to have listened to going to sleep 😴 . Then maybe more books I like to listen to .?.
Going to listen to this every night, when I fall asleep... (Until i don't want to do that anymore, lol!) Well first off, i am make my own notes of points that jump out at me because when u hear them, they make obvious sense to yourself.
To me, this is amazing..... On all levels, a lot of points I could have skipped as I already have that way of thinking / belief of what this life thing means to me. However there are many, many ideas points that I need to ? To evolve oneself inside, outside.
It'll be interesting.... The journey starts here....
Amazing true wise book
The weird part for me is that in my experience I would make women laugh so hard and help some accomplish their dreams, goals, see the best in themselves and they WOULDN'T VALUE ME! Instead just try to USE me though i helped them find themselves. I havent gotten reciprocation back. I've just been there for MYSELF! NO ONE to support me like i support them. Ungrateful people

I love a man that could build me up when I have a hard n troubled life and I came with children but I was to strong for any man that I became romantically or had attracted but there was one man that did that and sadly we had to part ways but all the things he taught me, and gave me and I’m talking the respect honesty and empathy, understanding and his views on different things that had happened in my life had a huge impact on my life and I still carry that with me and I’m still madly in love in him and everything he has done and giving me .. the a new sense of love for myself and my life. I will always appreciates and love that man til the end of time.

The only thing I disagree with is people who possess qualities they lack themselves… I’ve only ever been obsessed with people who were a lot like me and possessed the same qualities lol….maybe because it’s rare…when I do someone who is like me in a lot of ways… it’s like wow what a rare gem lol. Does that mean I’m a narcissist? Lol
