We always develop state of the art weapon ....But never succeed in finalizing. Really very disappointing.
It's never state of the art !! Yes the hype created around it makes it sound like It's state of the art... Just like the Hype created by these UA-camrs around Tejas , But We have 0 intrested buyers for our Aircraft because unlike Our Own Forces ... Nobody else had to force it down their throat especially at that Price Point where it is Only slightly Cheaper than the F-16s.
If the Initial UTTAM had performed like what these guys Hyped it for.... We would've pushed its induction In Tejas Already, Instead Were Still paying enormous Premium For the ELTA radars ... Why ??? ( Kya Hamare Mathe Me "C" likha hai .... Nope it's because it required loads of changes and Improvements to Function Like or At least close to the Israeli ELTA Radars. ). But In youtubers ke Video deakh lo UTTAM pe... Lage ga bhenchod ise accha to kahi kuch ho he nai sakta 😂😂.

@@RohitRaj-qu9qv true most of the Indian weapons are just overhyped by these over optimistic youtubers. Why will countries chose Tejas if they can get used f-16s for cheaper. At this point used F-16s are way more capable than Tejas. That's why Argentina chose F-16s over Tejas. Argentina got 24 F-16s at price of just $ 30 million per aircraft.

Don't know, few things do not add up. If the first variant of Uttam was ready, then why not incorporate that on Tejas Mk1a from 21st jet onward? The improved variant could have gone on from the 3rd squadron onward.
First variant has less TR modules, hence less performance parameters. Besides we had already ordered Israeli Radars back in 2022 they will go to waste if not used.
Simple, maintenance. For a single squadron a completely different variant of the radar has to be maintained, so using the Israeli radar in early mk 1a and FOC mk1

It is said , that the Elta El/M 2052 is as capable as the APG 82/83 itself, which are the radars that will serve Israeli F15 and F16 . Israel always create indigenous alternatives to the American hardware , so that in case of prolonged conflicts or overwhelming invasion , the nation do not have to depend on negotiating factors for existence.
Now, with Uttam, India is matching the best of US standards - APG 77/81 as it surpasses the Elta El/M 2052.
And, the Uttam is fully indigenous and not an alternative or derivative either - since the European missile suppliers has mandated integration of European origin missiles and bombs with the Uttam fire control only if it is 100% indigenous.

Year 2050: As DRDO is working on 20th variant of Uttam with 9204 TR modules compared to 7475 in previous version , we did not incorporate it with Tejas. So let's just import some more. 🤦🤦

It just a model. The real radar will take years to make. If it is ready then why not fit in SU 30 and MIG 29. Why are you saying about fitting it in a aircraft which is in testing phase and will take couple of years to induct.

No the 700-900 TRTM AESA was always being pfepared for Tejas MK1A and MK2s. For Su 30, the TRTM will be hiked up to about 1600s-1800s.
I think Tejas MK1B should get design changes to be more stealth.
Considering its smaller size and .5m2 RCS. Adding few changes to make it stealth and taking it 0.1m2. It will be game changer for regular patrol+ surveillance.
It will increase its chances against 5th Gen fighter, but for 4.5 Gen fighters it will be a monster.

For ease of user experience and maintenance........ To avoid complexity with different types of radar on different aircrafts. As of now our pilots and maintenance engineers are used to elta 2052 radar. If we install baseline uttam on these aircrafts then our pilots will have to train again on uttam baseline radar then again on uttam advanced radar...... So for ease of end user and maintenance we are keeping it simple with only two types of radar❤
