    I just ordered a smart ring off of Amazon. Mine was $35 with a 5% off coupon at checkout. I got a black one in a size 7. That was the smallest size option I could find for a smart ring under $50. My ring is by the brand Conmforniture and it comes with a charging case. I do have the Apple Watch Ultra so that’s why I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a smart ring.
    My mom asked if the smart ring will replace my silicone engagement ring and I told her no. The engagement ring on my left the smart ring for my right hand.
    My ring has a free app (not sure the name of the app yet). But my ring can track;
    Steps
    Sleep
    Heart rate
    Blood oxygen
    Activities
    And etc.
    My ring is also supposed to be able to take photos on your phone by swinging your hand or something. The ring is also waterproof. Also, once the ring is fully charged it’s supposed to last 10 days before it needs to be charged again.
    I can’t wait to get it in the mail soon. I mainly wanted it as a more comfortable way to track my sleep.

    I have the RingConn as part of the startup phase (since last January) and really like it, the charging case and the non-subscription fee aspect. I really wish I could get meaningful SPO2 and HR data during exercise as I'm trying to track/ monitor these real time as guidance if I need to push a little harder, or when to back off a bit due to my lung IPF diagnosis. Unfortunately, movement seems to severally affect these readings and even spot measurements during an exersize class needs the phone and ring to be quite close in proximity (about 2-3') to initiate a manual reading. Otherwise, a great ring at a great price with a realistic expectation of new features to come 😊.

    • @mlegrand
      @mlegrand  Рік тому +2

      Yeah, unfortunately I don’t believe rings are a great form factor for heart rate tracking while exercising. It’s a great device, just maybe not for that purpose. Maybe a cheap heart rate strap would be an option? I made a video talking about a few options a while back.

    • @mfreele1957

      And for me, even more importantly, the SPO2 to try and understand my lung disease process as it impacts my SPO2 during effort/ excersion. I know wireless exercise compatible finger probes exist, but from what I've seen so far, are quite expensive?

    I'd love an Oura ring, not least because it's a Finnish company and I used to live there (same reason for my affinity for Suunto or Polar). But the subscription fee really puts me off, I wish they'd at least lower the price of the hardware or perhaps used the fee to encourage users to live a more healthy lifestyle (e.g. lowering the fee for next month if you got a good sleep score streak the previous month or something along those lines).

    Hey! Thanks for the review. I am on the fence of getting a RingConn right now, and this helps.
    Question for you - are you able to upload Strava data to the RingConn app? I know Oura allows it. My goal is to wear a Garmin while lifting weights/exercising and wear the ring at all other times, but I want all the data in one place, preferably the RingConn app.
    Thank you again!

      @mlegrand  Рік тому +1

      Not that I know of. Software is always changing on these things but I haven't seen a way for it to pull in Strava activity data yet. 🤷‍♂️ It's all about finding a unified spot for all of your activity data to get funneled into so you have a comprehensive location for all the data. I keep a watch on for that but understand if the goal is to use the two devices together. 😬

    Thanks for the review. It sounds as though the Ultrahuman ring is a better fit …no pun intended. I do have to respectfully disagree with you that the purpose of the ring is for an individual to keep track of their health metrics and not so much continually getting notifications about what they should be doing or what they shouldn’t be doing. Individuals who are making a concerted effort to buy these health monitoring devices, I believe are already aware of how important it is to stay healthy, to participate in healthy behaviors, and probably exercise already. It seems as though RingConn and Oura are geared more towards the average individual, those that exercise 3 to 4 times a week, such as running walking and maybe some lifting weights while ultra human are for those individuals who need to have all the detailed information about their workouts and even recovery stats. By the way, even though your heart rate during exercise is important, resting heart rate is a good indicator of how healthy you are as well.

    • @mlegrand
      @mlegrand  2 місяці тому

      Good points in here M Den. I guess I intended those comments as more of a way to suggest that actionable items are more helpful and reminders to act on that data are helpful. I agree that resting heart rate is a fantastic metric.

    Note that rings should fit well. And not be loose! And I see yours if rather easy to remove.
    Reliability is mainly dependant on the position of the sensors. Which should detect on the inside of your fingers. Fitting snugly, which with the correct size doesn't differ from finger size. As sensors are exactly the same.
