Great job making it current mechanically while keeping appearance stock.
Thank you
Have one myself plus a 64 cutlass hardtop car. Great cars. My dad had 64 cutlass hardtop when new also, great memories
Very cool!
Oh my gosh this car is beautiful. I wanted this car to be my first car.
My first car- but I had a 4 door. I paid $300 for it in 1976. The interior was beautiful. Unfortunately it was prone to overheating in Southern California and I killed it.
Too bad you could keep it. Sounds like to me you needed to drop in an aluminum radiator, and hi perf thermostat, and a new 425/455 in there.
Recently picked up a fascination with cars from the 60s and the cutless definitely catches my eye. Hope to get one in the future before they really are rusted away
I recently brought home a 65 cutlass with a 330 under the hood. Factory air, factor radio, power steering, power brakes.
It’s been sitting in an empty lot for more than 15 years, and hasn’t had a windshield in more than 5 years. (Some damn kids busted the windshield out on it years ago). Suffice to say, the car needs a full restoration, but thankfully the engine will turn when you turn the key, so it’s not a total loss. My main goal for now is just to get it running and driveable, for that, it’ll need tires, a windshield, and a battery. Eventually it’ll need a whole new interior, paint, rust repair.
I got 1 too brother with a 350.
My 65 is almost done. Stick with it. Mine only took 18 years to finish. 😁
I picked up a ‘65 442 back in 1994 when I got out of the service for $4,250. It’s number matching on the motor (400cid) but it came with a automatic (has a 4 speed M21 Muncie now). Talk about gobs of torque!!! (The 400 in the 442 that year are a de-stroked 425 basically) First year for the BB, 2nd year for the 442. 64’s only had 330’s, no BB that year, just the BO9 Police Interceptor package on them (442 was the other name)
I love that flucking thing!!!
Couldn’t help but to laugh when he makes the comment about having to remember how many times to pump the accelerator before turning the key for starting. Used to own a 4-4-2 that took two pumps (one was not enough fuel and three dumped in too much) before firing right up.
Actually it was a rocket three thirty in sixty five. If it was a 442 it came with a 400.
Y'all do amazing work
Thanks
i have a 65 cutlass with the original 330 (olds only had a 330cui for the f 85 not a 350cui and 400cui engine for the 442)... i dont pump it, i put the gas pedal all the way in and crank it... if you change anything its no longer "all original " its "period correct "... but thats a beautiful car nonetheless ❤❤❤
Thanks
a great car to enjoy the class of american styling!
Beauty on 4 wheels
Definitely
Had a 1970 98 with 455 390hp. Would do 60-70mph in low 1st gear automatic. Was over 100mph at end of 2nd gear then hit drive and float. It ate vettes for breakfast and with me driving never lost a race against some serious cars back in the mid 80s.
Watch the video again, nice car but the original engine is gold in color and a 330 not a 350 which came out a few years later and your original interior has a column shift dash but the car has a console shifter! meaning not a original console shift car. Just saying but again a nice car.
My great Grandpa had one almost identical. Same exact color, only it was a hardtop, not a post coupe. But it had a perfect white interior. No air con, had the spinner spoke hubcaps though. It had tilt steering with a special wood grain steering wheel. 330 4 barrel, vacuum power trunk release. I Remember everything about that car. 🙂
Love that vacuum trunk release!...right in reach for Mom...in the glove box.
I got a 65 f-85 in almost as good of shape. I’d love some touch ups on it…

In 1983 I help my parents make the move from Buffalo New York, to Phoenix, Arizona. I decided to look for a car instead of spending money on airfare. I found a 1965 old F 85 with 48,000 miles. The old timer with a cigar in his mouth handed me a white owl, cigar box, full of receipts for all the Maintenance done on the car. It was Immaculate and it was a four-door. I gladly paid him his asking price of $700 and Showed him my appreciation when I returned With a box of white owl cigars. I will never forget the smile on that all timers face because he didn’t want to sell the car, but had to because of his health And I Gave him my word I would give her a good home 🏡.
Beautiful story
the Cutlass was always a great midsize car my dad learned to drive in a Cutlass S Coupe in 1976 the car cost $3,550 new in 1973 as a 74 model and would cost about $22,000 new today if Oldsmobile relaunched F85 was your base Cutlass and there were several trim package variations about it including the Calias S Salon Supreme and Supreme Brougham similar to your base Toyota Corolla model funny enough the Hatchback costs more than the sedan by 1,455 and thats before DFC taxes title license fee and options
Don't forget the Holiday Coupe
They originally had a 330 under the hood
I had a 1964 dynamic 88 cov😊
Sure thing, like to have it.. 😮❤❤
Nice.
That car is fantastic ! Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Thank you. Cheers
That is a 330 V8..not a Rocket 350. If it's original. Beautiful Oldsmobile!~
That wasn’t the stock seat coverings
My dream car 😂
I had a 65 f85 but not a cutlass, more rare. Aluminum block V6, drive all day, put your hand on the radiator and not be burned, cool as a cucumber.
Hi! I am from Serbia. I am the owner a 1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass f85 1964. I need replacement engine parts for this car. We need pistons for a 5.4L 330cid V8 engine.
Thanks for reaching out. Email us at dlyons@impatientcreations.com and let us know what you need and that you found us from UA-cam.
how is it org? its been rebuilt and restored
I have one with a 69 455
Well, if it's an original engine, it's not a 350. It would either be a 330 V8 or a 400 V8. Most likely a 330, since that is what most of these cars came with. If you think this is a big car, this isn't even a full sized car. It's the smallest Oldsmobile you could get in 1965. The 88 and 98 were much bigger cars than this - and most people drove full sized cars at the time.
Doesn't sound stock, isn't original.
