The only thing here that's new is the Pixel supporting video over USB-C out of the box. None of the desktop mode stuff is new - this is still the same Android 14 developer mode desktop UI that has been around the whole time (including on older Pixels). This is essentially the same video ETA put out 4 months ago with the Pixel 8 Pro (after it had video out functionality enabled). Actual changes to this mode are meant to come with Android 15.

i'm here wanting to know if you can just plug in the pixel to your PC laptop and transfer photos videos and make new file folders. 👍🏽
Bro revealed his face!! ❤❤
Such a useful video! I used to have a Samsung s24 ultra but have sense upgraded to the pixel 9 pro XL I'm much prefer the pixel but I really did miss dex. Thanks to you I've now understand how to use this(hopefully work in progress) alternative. One question - I have a touchscreen monitor but Pixel doesn't work on the touchscreen - is this going to be available?
It's support 2 different screen ? And the s24 ?
whats a cheap phone u would recomend for pc emulation using mobox and winlator , usualy runing things like gta 5 at 30 fps and far cry 3 im thinking in buying a poco f6 but am not sure my samsung a10 is showing its age
How does Chrome react to an online app like Figma in desktop mode?
Desk-Top-Mode 😏
Google releases new version of Android every year with a few new gimmicks and zero usable features, I wonder if they just gave up on improving Android, no usable desktop mode when it should've been here many years ago. What a shame
@@petrk.3853 totally agree , they had 1 big problem is that from pixel 1 till pixel 7 they did not support hdmi over type c to display hr screen plus desktop mode should ve been very well optimized since we're talkin abiut google, also the camaras thatbwe use to say ggle are one of the best still photos from any smartphone company but from pixel 7 to pixel 9 series no a single change that i would call oh this is a difference, literally nothing some few enhancement when it comes to battery life and to night mode just very minir enhancements , shame on this company
@@petrk.3853 yeah talk about a missed opportunity to replace a laptop or computer for some people..
And they look it down further every version. No side loading in android 16
I saw in the settings of the taskbar app you can install something called "SecondScreen" which claims to change the resolution and density, maybe a nice short follow up video. Just trying it out, I can't get the taskbar to go to my external monitor. Anybody knows what setting to use?
The cow problem is that it's taken Google so long to add this feature to a Pixel. Hopefully they improve it quickly, because i otherwise prefer these phones to Samsung & Moto options.
Cry? It’s not a needed feature so why would they add it in the past nobody important cares about it
@@passivevii4052not needed for you. It's still a nice feature to have for usb out
@@passivevii4052 dont think so. Many tech people care about. It is a portable office pc if you have a small usb dock with you. Just connect it to a display wireless mouse and keyboard = done. You can also stream through parsec and moonlight. So i have access with the phone to EVERYTHING.
this desktop mode looks better than even iPadOS, tho not as good as other android desktop modes from other manufacturers
What would be dope is if using a telescopic controller the usb c output would mirror or extend. It’d be like a Wii U touchpad. I think they’re only power in, sadly.
I always turn off snap feature in windows. Esp the snap layouts in windows 11 is so annoying.
Does this pass audio at the same time?
After using Samsung Dex as a power user I honestly don't see why people "want" to try and make their phones their only device. Sure it'd be amazing if you could plug in an android phone and get a full fledge gaming and workhorse windows 11 machine but that's such a far stretch we just aren't there yet. Nothing replaces a good desktop computer
