This year i got a late start in June followed by a rear ending car accident in the end of June, so I determined to ride as far as I can for this year regardless. I know I am off balance for my body from the start I got easier left turn and less balanced right turn. I basically hop onto any group I can but very quick i will be dropped and that's fine I know there are plenty riders around me. I made it at 8:30PM. Some 3 hours slower than my last year but I will try again for next year, despite i suffered a second accident at the end of July which ends my cycling season entirely.
Did you ride this year? How was your experience? So glad to have finally been able to upload again. I have a LOT of videos to catch up on so hope you'll stay tuned :) Don't miss out on my 5K subs meetup next week. Check out details on my socials.
I've done a few single-day STPs and this year's was the most difficult because that last 50 miles in ~95 degree F heat and tailwind with very little shade along Hwy 30 was just intolerable. Glad to have finished it in a day and recovered in time for my Wednesday night mountain bike race that week.
Bummer about the back injury, hopefully it heals up without too much fuss. This was my first STP(saw myself in the start line footage 😂) and I did the two day event. I actually did much better than I anticipated and made it to Portland way ahead of the time I thought I would considering I had never ridden further than 60 miles prior to the event. Definitely learned my saddle is not it by mile 140 and need to find a less painful seat for future events There definitely where some sketchy riders and one of my club members was sent to the ED with some severe injuries after another rider elected not to yield at a stop sign where a car was crossing and slammed into the other riders at 20mph
Was hoping to see you on your Brompton for the 1 day! Saw someone else ride a Brompton though :). First time STP, first time 1 day with success! Hoping to do it next again year.
I definitely overestimated myself and wish I realized the PT/exercises I needed to do sooner cuz my back is feeling way better now. No worries, next year count me in!

We rode first time ever this year. All 4 of us in our group finished the 2 day variant. It was a blast! Definitely need a bike fit though.

That's me on the tandem called out at 1:40!

VIP support car! Great video as always
It was my first time doing the STP! Took me a bit, but got the whole thing done! Next time I’ll have to get a support team 😅
Sorry you didn’t make it this year on your Brompton. I was looking for inspiration. I rode my green Brompton this year but I was a two day rider.
@@FreeTheWeasel my flying wheels vlog will be out soon. Managed to do 100 miles hilly pretty well.

my goal as a very beginner cyclist is to do this next year
@@BrandonNop that's an awesome goal
Are you assigned aid groups or are you there to attend to everyone?
It's not surprising to find such irritating people riding from Seattle to Portland. Two cities which have lost their soul!
Nope, just you.
