How the Eastrail is Improving Cycling in Bellevue with a New Trail Bridge and More To Come
Buying one from an actual dealer is still a much better deal. Rent from them if you must and then go actually buy one from a local retailer that will take care of it for you. using Wombi is like buying a TV from Rent a Center. It's gonna cost you somehow and the fine print is DANGEROUS.
An interesting e-bike that can be enjoyed with our family!😄
Nice! I just learned about Wombi today at the commute road show at my office! Tempted especially with the commute benefit I get.
Glad you had a chance to highlight this service! I've been strongly considering selling my relatively underpowered ebike and just switching to Wombi.
It looks so empty compared to the old G&O! Hope its a viable biz model 🙂
I was thinking about getting one of these with the dog carrier rear thing. I'm curious how it would ride as a taller person though (6' 3") 🤔
@@m3ellis it's very adjustable didn't show it here but even the stem can rotate around
Plus there's a telescopic seatpost!
As an HSD owner, I love what Wombi is doing to get these bikes into more hands for people to try hassle-free. These are high quality bikes that are built with the highest specs, and we even replaced on of our cars with the HSD - the belt drive is amazing in the cold/inclement weather. Hoping you have the best experience going car-lite!! Loved this video.
❤❤❤
Trikes? In Seattle.
Wombi is such a great idea. The rates seem reasonable given the cost of the bike and all inclusive service (even pick up and drop off, which is a big deal - cargo bikes won’t fit in most vehicles or typical bike car racks). Compare that to leasing a car, paying for insurance, paying for gas, and often paying for parking. I hope Wombi is successful in Greenwood and extend their service area beyond the great white north and come to south Seattle! Dave’s should hand out fliers to parents waiting to pick up and drop off kids.
@BestSideCycling Hanoch, why is your wife terrified of bicycles, which are your one and only passion?
Girlfriend to be 😂
Yayyy! You two are going to have so much fun on your Wombi!!
Yaaaaay! This is so great. I am happy to see the two of you out and riding together.
It's short, but it's interesting anyway

Good first ride. Thanks for sharing. I have a Bike Friday All Packa which is great for gravel and touring. It fits in a suitcase but the fold for trains and buses is not as neat as the Brompton. Production question - what drone did you use? Did you use for the ride alongside?
I use the new Hover Air ProMax drone and also my friend on a bicycle.
Not very unique. Bike tunnels are common in Western Europe…
cool but it weights more than my full suspension mtb
It's definitely not light but that's an impressively light full suspension MTB!
What number of T crankset do use bro?
This is a 50T with the 12 speed T line
Belgium here - I tested one at the bike shop Waiting for the Electric variant which will be my Commute bike
Hudson Street is pretty brutal
Thanks for the recommendation, Hanoch! We rented from Fujisanbike (electric and non-electric) with locks and helmets provided. Would highly recommend stopping at Cisco coffee for a slice of cheesecake and a matcha latte. Great for warming up and keeping the blood sugar going.
I usually drive this route in my commute with my car and honestly I like this a lot. It helps me keep aware of cyclists and flow of traffic through that area is well managed. Would like to see this be applied throughout Seattle.
Thank you for sharing. This section rides so awkwardly, but at least the construction that took forever is done now!
I ride this section of the BG a lot! It is a big improvement over what was there before. However, many people have pointed out the problems with the intersections. You really have to slow down and be careful through here.
5:58 he is passing in front of brothel lol Yeah, this is how I know: I stayed in the house right next to it as AirBnB for a week. I didn't realize what the place was, just saw OPEN sign. Then on my last day I was checking google maps and realized what the place was 😅
Hehe people in the netherlands on bikes don't stop for red lights, when you're on a bike you're basically the king of the road and it is the expectation that the peasants in the cars make way for you. Even the laws are designed around that concept, if you're driving a car and hit a biker you're in trouble and are on the hook for damages to the biker and your own car, even if the biker basically threw themselves in front of your car. I love it!
Riding east I never use the "bike path," I just stay on the road. Riding west I use the path, but the ramp from the path back onto the road is so narrow and sharp, not a smooth transition at all. This is one of the weirdest pieces of infra I've ever seen. Doesn't make sense to me at all.
Yes, it's poor planning to make a standard pair of 90* corner cutouts. if you follow the green path eastbound you have to really slow down to jog around the fence. Even then, you need to encroach into westbound bike traffic. It should be a continuous cutout over the entire corner for better navigation. Collisions and crashing into the curb (especially at night) will be inevitable here, particularly when trail traffic increases in the Spring. It's intrinsically unsafe and I always take the road going eastbound on my morning commute.
I would say folks coming out of Fred Meyer near where the video starts stop about 10% of the time? Be safe going through there.
I refuse to believe that this video wasn’t AI generated. This construction project was only ever growing and permanent.
Design looks good, except for WAY too much visual clutter. I think Dutch protected intersections usually have a much cleaner design language that isnt distracting.
The g-line was named so because you will need a lot of G's to buy it. Am I right?
I’ll stick with my normal Brompton for path and just keep my old 26” for gravel/off road duties since it’s full suspension😊
What's it like getting past the Ballard Bridge these days? That used to suck, and possibly still does.
Currently there’s asphalt over the railroad tracks and it dodges on the north side of the pillar on 45th. That may be changing back to a rail crossing with a zero gap flange way making the crossing passable for rail and safe for bicyclists.
@@matthewthormodson3131 What's this now?! Didn't whoever was using the tracks relinquish the space for good? I thought we were done with the 15th ave. chicane
@ from what I’ve heard that was a temporary solution while they sorted out a proper crossing. The pavement cut the line in half so the lil’ beaver can’t make it back to the coral where the yellow locomotive, box car and caboose are.
I’m fairly disappointed with this section. The transition across 11th going up onto the sidewalk is so strange! Idk it just doesn’t ride that well
FINALLY!
I wish they had pushed that sidewalk closer to freddies, and made a bike track on the asphalt, with a median. Another example of infrastructure being made without much pedestrian input. *fwiw, i ride this daily.
A comically underwhelming final result.
That's a feature of the Seattle Process!
I like the SUV just casually driving over the sidewalk at the start of this.
😮 I didn't even notice that until now xD
Nice!
Would this be the best route to use going from the ferry docks on Alaska to Tukwila via ebike?
Totally forgot I had this video ready to upload. Behind as usual but hopefully lots more soon 😅
Thanks for sharing your impressions! I think the G Line looks great. I've seen many comments to the effect of "you might as well get a full size bike," but that seems to neglect 20-inch wheels are *by far* the most common folding bike wheel size -- and the G-Line is significantly more compact (with a neater fold) than most of those options. Of course, the G-Line is more expensive than most 20-inch bifolds, but this is Brompton we're talking about. It's not like anybody buys these bikes because they think they're getting a good deal. And regarding weight, I suspect the smoother rolling rack will make up for its carry weight in most cases. The 16-inch Brompton isn't all that good at rolling without customizations (note how many users add skate wheels), and the G-Line seems to roll a lot better out of the box (although it seems similarly prone to tip over when loaded with a bag).
Great video! I have heard of R+E because I own a tandem. Great folks and a sharp operation!
I wish someone gave an independent review. If Brompton loaned a bike to do a Review, could you say it was inbias ?
I have that bike and it’s so fun!
omg cuty-cuty climb
