That is true but is it really freedom?? when it is imposed by some patriarchal views? afer all , what is the reason of wearing one? I may be worn but isnt it so men are not tempted?? that i crap. God, if he exists, made you beautiful and then they believe he demands to cover that beauty... more nosense comming from religion
Adrian Rivas Hijab is worn to protect oneself. God made you beautiful, yes, but god loves you, and wants to protect you, like how you'd protect a ruby, or protect a new car. Women are cherished in Islam, and if it is unfair, men were given the order FIRST to be modest and dress modestly.
+Miss Agha Da, da, and to guard themselves against lust, which is to be reserved for between husbands and wives. Allah specifically ordered men to control themselves first before he said anything about modesty to women.
I'm a hijabi girl but I'm not a terrorist. I respect all religions/races. I was born in the UK. Everyone is my family. I don't judge people. I am proud of my hijab. I feel beautiful in my hijab. I feel safe in my hijab. My hijab is my crown.
idk understand how when Christian women aka NUNS dress modestly, people see it as a good thing but when a Muslim women does the same thing she is called a terrorist and is seen as being oppressed
I fell in Love with a Muslim girl once, but she broke up with me because I wasn't a Muslim. I still Love her and even though her religion forbids her from being with me, I still respect her culture and Islamic beliefs.
Art P Your comment is illogical. Nobody goes up to nuns and asks, gee why on earth are you covering your head?? Your religion must be so oppressive! And as for you feel like it's a sort of discrimination, you need to reevaluate your mentality 'cause that makes no sense.
+Art P The hijab is worn to cover our hair. It's a symbol for modesty as we cannot show anything but our face and hands and feet up to the ankle. How are we oppressive? We don't wear it to show we are with the Sharia law, the hijab means we love our religion, and it's not worn to discriminate others. This is the same as saying anyone that wears crosses are discriminating others. The cross is supposed to protect you, just as the hijab is worn to protect ourselves and from the devil. But of course wearing a cross is okay. We are asked to wear one, and we do. Simple as is.
+Areej Irfan You are asked to wear one because it is part of the Sharia Law. It is ordained in Holy Qur'an. (Verse 33:59). 47 muslim-majority countries in the world practise Sharia Law. It is well known that the rights of the women in these countries are in dire state. Now connect the dots. That explains how hijab, niqab, chadors and similar garbs symbolize Sharia Law which in turns symbolizes oppression. These are all facts not opinions.
Art P How is wearing the hijab and niqab oppression though? Wearing this does not make you any lower than anyone else and does not make men greater. If anything it makes women seem higher when it actually says that women are like diamonds.
+Areej Irfan Looks like we are going in circles, aren't we? As a muslimah, stand up for the voiceless fellow muslim ladies facing the oppression faced by them in muslim-majority countries. Be the change you want to see (Qur'an verse 13:11) in this society, in these times whereever you have immigrated to in the west. Do not hide behind your hijab, your faith and be afraid.Transcend that fear of being judged and spurned by your community and family (refer to Qur'an 4:135). Wearing hijab is gender segregation and gender segregation is so morally wrong. Have the courage to move forward so you can live together without any tension with non-Muslims. Be honest with yourself so you can be closer to that creator, who have created for who you are.
"I wish they didn't have to wear that, they are beautiful" can some people shut up?You are literally saying the only way a woman can be beautiful is by their looks.Trust me, women and men have a lot more to offer than just their physical appearance
I hope you and your family are safe, just know that I support her choice to wear the hijab and I think it's great she does what she wants despite many reasons to be afraid to do so. Sending love your way 😊💖
In my parent's generation, it was common for Christian women to wear hats in church to "avoid offending God". No one claimed that it was oppression. Some Jewish women cover their hair in the temple for the same reason. If women wear a hijab by choice I'm all for their right to choose.
I really like one of the reasons some girls wear a hijab! A friend of mine told me that it was purely her decision to wear it because she wants her future husband to fall in love with her soul and not her beauty (in her culture hair is considered to be one of the main beauty items)
btw, fyi Qur'an (I hope I'm spelling it right, if not - I am very sorry0 doesn't order the women to cover their hair, this decision is usually made inside the family :)
Hijab is for both physical modesty, which is why women and close family members are the only ones who can see us without our hijab, and a general spiritual connection with God, which is why we wear hijab when we pray even when there are no men around.
Fatimah Barokah woman cant do anything without a man beside her in middle eastern countries hair means alot to woman and men are stopping woman do whatever they with it
let me start: I'm an atheis but I'm not asking about "I'm an atheis but I'm not" series constanly because I don't need any videos to explain what kind of people I am.
I need this to be clear for everyone: You cannot just pick up a Quran, read through, expect to understand it and make judgements out of context. Islam is such a complex religion that not even Muslims can understand the true meaning behind the Quran on our own. That's why we have scholars who study the Quran for years and years and decipher it and explain to us in crucial detail. It is such a complex process that not just anyone can pick up the Quran and expect to understand it right away. We read the Quran to learn its teachings and when in doubt, seek help from the scholars to clear things up. I see a lot of people on the internet pulling out random verses from the Quran and quoting them for being violent, hateful, pedophilic, etc when they didn't even understand the story that comes along with the verse. It was completely taken out of context. So when I say "Get your facts right." I don't mean "Read the Quran and you'll understand." I mean "Bring the Quran and ask someone of knowledge to clear it up for you, go for a lecture if you need to, cross reference and check the history," so once again, you can't just read the Holy Quran and expect to understand its complex messages and meanings and make your own judgments upon them.
+OtakuYonderu : Actually if you do read it in context, you will find that it contains parts from Zoastrianism, Christianity, and Judaism.... for the most part. While I can't expect to be a scholar from Zoastrianism, I understand fully the parts from Christianity and Judaism since they are closely linked. When people pull up verses, we reconcile history with scriptures..... At least that is how it is in Christianity and Judaism.... Roman Empire, Pharoah, etc.... all makes sense in the light of what is going on at the time( Christianity and Judaism).....It is also exactly how it appears; there is no double meaning......... What doesn't make sense is how different the Quran is from that.....It seems to be self referencing..... Sort of like Hitler's Mein Kampf.....
+Joy Phillips The Holy Quran is in fact a compilation of God's words passed down through the Angel Jibreel to the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) to be recited to the people. And all of the information was in fact divine knowledge. So for it to be self referencing, I wouldn't see it as a surprise.
OtakuYonderu You don't understand.... There is no proof of the angel Jibreel visited..... yet you claim it to be true. All I said was that the Christianity and Judaism claims are true because they correspond to history. We had a roman empire, pharaohs, etc..... There is NO self referencing there. With the Quran, it only references itself ( self -referencing) so only it believes itself to be true.
*****: The bible is not contradictory; I don't know about the Quran, but Jesus explained what you are talking about when he told his largely UNEDUCATED disciples this. ( Mark 4: 11-12) 11 He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secret[a] of the Kingdom of God. But I use parables for everything I say to OUTSIDERS, 12 so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled: ‘When they see what I do, THEY WILL LEARN NOTHING. When they hear what I say, THEY WILL NOT UNDERSTAND. Otherwise, they will turn to me and be forgiven.’[b] ------------------------------------------------------- In other words, unless you are really looking for God, these words will not make sense.....
Otaku: God would not want to inspire a book that could not be understood by all. Leaving interpretation up to various islamic scholars is what inter islamic wars are all about and it denies the right of worshippers to know what God is saying. God would never purposely try to make it so ambiguous that people could not understand. I hear so many Muslims say that Quran is written clearly and easy to understand, and when people find fault with it, then "it's so complicated that you need a Muslim scholar to interpret it for you". That's just muslim doublespeak, which is extremely common.
My husband works away and i visit him in manchester when he can't come home. Recently i never had a problem with travelling when i wear my hijab. But the last time, i travelled to manchester. i felt like i was an outcast. A woman had gotten on from the crewe station and you could tell she was drinking from the plastic cup of alcohol. And she wouldn't stop staring at me. And then at another station an old man got on and sat next to her and they began talking and looking at me and whispering to themselves and continued to stare at me for the entire remainder of the journey. Im a 28 year old british born muslim who was born and bred in cardiff and i have never ever experienced such behaviour. Next time ill just drive to manchester.
I've been wearing the hijab since I was 10!! I didn't get forced!! nobody told me too!!! I wanted too!! I wanted to be a pearl in a shell!! and to this day I'm glad I made that decision!!!
covering my body does not at all mean that I am "ashamed" of it +skchalivetlnd What is actually sad is that you associate modesty with with insecurity. And just for the record, I am as confident as I should be with my body, but I don't think I have to prove myself to people. If you need other people to prove to you that YOU are beautiful, then I pray that you will too find that confidence within yourself. 😘
I was born in a Christian family but one day my friend introduces me Islam, I was so impressed and accepted it after some days. Now I wear hijab of my own will. It makes me feel so comfortable and confident like ever before. I am a doctor and fashion blogger too. And their is nothing wrong with it
@@zoozhimo1235 you know why cuz they don't want you in Thier head you want immodest women they want their religion so leave them alone completely not your business
I'm hijabi and i'm a feminist I'm hijabi and i wear makeup I'm hijabi and i decided to wear it on my own I'm hijabi and i don't have a bomb vest under my clothes ~From my muslim BFF
+Kitti Wertigo And all of this in the Western world darling, you forgot to mention it. Here you can self-identify & enjoy whatever thing you like. Go to an islamic society and be a vocal feminist/LGBT member and see the backlash [jail, ostracization etc].
+Luca Johnson Is Islamophobia the right term for it? I have no problems with Muslims, but I do wish Islam as a religion didn't exist. It's oppressive to women by its nature, and allows for justification of extremism, just like most religions. As I say, I have zero problem with the people. The ideology is dangerous.
But it is specified in the Qu'ran that women are not equal to men, does it not? They inherit less, and a man essentially owns the body of his wife.Luca Johnson
+Ollie Burton there are many interpretations of the Qur'an and almost all religions have male superiority mentioned in their holy books. It isn't that unique sadly.
+Luca Johnson I would ask at that point then how it could be interpreted that women are not supposed to be inferior given that text, and yes, I agree that many religions have male superiority as part of the doctrine, which is unfortunate.
kipper sayshi said it im muslim countries, where women without hijab are punished in western world they can wear whatever they want, in cas you didn't notice
Tell that to the woman in France who was forced to remove her hijab by police officers at the beach because it "didn't respect good morals and secularism".
Lility tell that to the woman in Afghanistan who was raped and stoned to death for taking her hijab off you seem to not see the real problems on the world
Dude, I'm not saying "The Middle East is the most peaceful place in the world and everyone there is free to express their beliefs anyway they want and also they respect everyones rights, specially women's". I do see several problems in the world, and radical Islamism is one of them, a major one even. But saying that the western world is absolutely free and peaceful is being as blind as the ones who think theres nothing wrong with the Middle East. You said "in western world they can wear whatever they want, in cas you didn't notice", but I just gave and example of a woman who was prohibited from wearing wathever she wanted IN the western world. I'm not saying that countries who force women to wear hijab are not a problem, but I do believe that a society who judges and excludes women who wear hijab are a problem too. Freedom isn't freedom if it's only for christians and white people.
Right, so basically you also shouldn't wear big jackets because maybe you're hiding bombs under it, specially if you're muslim, which makes you automatically suspect, just like being black makes you automatically suspect if there's a murder or a robbery. It's okay to publically humiliate and disrespect peoples religions in name of security, when the woman had her face exposed, only her hair and her body covered, the same way christian nuns do. And also, how exactly being prohibited of wearing headscarves and long sleeves and scarves because "you could be hiding something" is equal to being prohibited of endorsing the mass genocide of specific ethnic/religious groups?
I am Hijabi. And I'm not forced to wear it. My dad actually doesn't want me to wear it cuz of recent events and recent attacks. He's scared that I'll get hurt.
+Rubbing Everything common misconception, but no. The hijab is a choice of each individual muslim woman. unfortunately in some oppressive, poverty stricken nations this choice is taken from the woman, but that is not a reflection of the religion but the cruel, uneducated cultural norms and vales of the heads of nation/state in question.
honestly you can say whatever you want but I was never forced to wear my hijab. Im proud of who I am. I don't understand why people would go out of their way JUST to put someone else down. why would you waste your time googling probably fake things about Islam and then pasting them here? why don't you use that time for something else? it's honestly sad that a piece of cloth on my head makes me a terrorist or a horrible person or the fact that I have to smile at everyone so they don't suspect I have a bomb in my purse. this world is sad really. what have we come to?
You probably don't understand where the vast majority of poor and uneducated muslim women stands. We don't care about you and your D&G headscarf. The simple fact that you can't see their pain and don't understand that getting rid of the headscarf or allowing them to study is a small step or a symbol to help them rise makes you a horrible person. You should feel ashamed that you consider women have a choice when they don't even know how to write their names. Think they have internet to say what they believe? Hypocrite!
Mr. reality Why do you do such bad things with the Muslims? Are we behaving badly on your religion? No, we never did and never do that . Because we did not say to do this in our religion,Just not us People of all religions have been told not to do this. Some people like you do this.Whatever happens I hope you do not get it wrong .We all have been told to do something in our religion. The Muslim should wear the hijab because it has been said .And I love to wearing hijab very much...
@mr reality You have no idea what you are talking about right now lying is in your blood. Wearing the hijab is a good choice but if you don't it doesn't matter to other people. At the end of the day it is YOUR choice and your choice only so don't be going on like you know what Islam is because the fact is that you are an idiot that does not know the difference between peer pressure and free will!
*im a hajabi girl* *in a harami world* *life Islamic* *its fantastic* *you can’t see my hair* *or touch me anywhere* *imagination* *Jannah destination*
I'm a hijabi and I'm not oppressed. My dad has actually told me numerous times that he doesn't care whether I wear it or not. *I* decided to wear it because personally I think it's beautiful and in winter it keeps me warm 😂.
I remember at least one girl from that "women wear the hijab for a week" video said a similar thing about feeling like she had to smile more. It's really sad that something that many of these women wear to feel less judged on their appearance is the exact thing that people judge about their appearance.
You women are amazing. You are strong and a valid people. You guys are awesome and thank you for sharing your wonderful stories. We are with you, for now and forever.
People are okay with covering the legs,hands,bossoms,back,feet,e.t.c but they have a problem with people covering their heads?!! Taking offense from someone's headscarf doesn't even make sense. "Oh they should be free to show off their beauty" "Covering the hair doesn't hide beauty, " Those two comments come from the anti hijab people and are so ironic ! Firstly Your idea of beauty is so limited . And secondly it was ordered to cover ourselves from the same kind of people with a very incomplete definition of beauty , which makes like 98% of people on earth.
+In Quest For Truth I agree, but most people do not like burkas, because they hide so much of the face that it is hard to know who is underneath, and it is easy for people to fake identities while wearing burkas because women who wear them have the right to not show their face at border control
+Miaandmilo Kavanagh this vidio all about hijabis not burkas. burkas are whole different story. even 3rd world countries are force to wear it but burkas is optional
First of all I would like to say that I am a non-Muslim hijab wearing woman, I come from an EU country and I was raised Catholic. I follow a pagan religion and work and pray with Muslims on a regular basis. I started wearing hijab as a young girl even though everyone around me told me to take it off and that they hated it. Still I wear it. Men have followed me home, stood outside my house and threatened to hurt me. I work with Muslims because they are amazing and I am safe in a mosque from persecution. No one looks at me differently for wearing hijab rather they admire my commitment to a non obligation religious symbol. As it is desired of a woman in my faith, and more of a tradition. I HAVE A CHOICE, ALL THE MUSLIM WOMEN I HAVE EVER MET, HAVE A CHOICE, AS DECREED BY ALLAH! AND I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE ARE WOMEN IN SOME MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTRIES FORCED TO WEAR BURKA, NIQAB AND HIJAB. I THINK IT IS HORRIBLE AND UNEQUAL IN THE EYES OF MAN AND ALL TYPES OF GODS OR A GOD. Stop saying you feel bad for us hijabis cause we are "forced" to wear them. We are not. Muslim women are not oppressed. Even in Qur'an Allah says women are equal to men. But some men have taken it upon themselves to make women their slaves and take away their rights, Allah has never spoke of such an ideal and men have made religion their own and messed with the message of Islam. These are not Muslim men. They are fascists who live only for their own pleasure and make everyone else serve them. They are disgusting and will beg on their knees on the day of judgement when they tell Allah what they have done to the queens of Islam. The mothers, sisters and daughters of all man kind.
I think the op is already a muslim... If not then she's quite ignorant. There's no way any muslim will defend and praise you and your religion as you do to theirs. Why would you defend people who wish hellfire upon you?
I'm a hijabi and no should question my decision to wear it. I wear it because I want to, not because I was forced to. I, ME, MYSELF. I like it. So what gives you the right to tell me I should take it off?
they are wearing the hijab for religious reasons NOT because someone is forcing them to. So, please stop thinking that they are being forced to wear hijab because they are not and this things is starting to get boring and stupid.
Sami Qaz Some women are forced to do so. Most of people don't mind muslim women covering their head. What they don't like is the fact that in some countries it is compulsory to cover your head. After all, all people have the freedom of speech. You have the right to do whatever you want as long as you don't violate the rights of other people. Some people believe that it's silly to wear Hijab while others think it's cool and personal choice. Everyone can believe what he/she wants. Have a nice day ;)
Carolina V. Not everything you believe is gonna happen, you can't do everything. Islam tells both men/women to wear modest dress, so whats the problem? Hijab is modest dress, every muslim woman should wear it, its beautiful and looks great. The women who don't want to wear it are not following Islam, either wear it or wear something decent, thats the way.
INFO Tech Yes, but some people don't follow everything.. Religions tell you to do and some bad things. Does that mean that you will do them because your religion tells you to do so? By imposing to someone to wear something, you basically violate his/her rights.
INFO Tech so if a woman is a devoted Muslim, she believes in God and all this stuff but she likes wearing revealing clothes, she should stop following her religion? You can't judge a person by their clothes...
***** then you would have known that to kill a person means killing the whole race in our religion and is strictly banned. we are not allowed to force our beliefs to other people because it's their business, not ours. what you islamophobics always bring up is the terorrists and if you did educate yourself about it, you would have known that this religion itself is againts that
A couple of months ago, I realized that wearing a hijab makes me a target of people's attention on the streets. So now I make the effort to smile at them, no matter who they are. It's my small way of combating stereotypes.
Last month I have noticed that wearing my nazi uniform attracts a lot of attention on the street so now I just smile a lot and wave my raised hand at people :3
@Naseem Piercy And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed (24:31)
So why are you 50% value of men for testimony and with legacy donation between parents and children? Why you cant have slaves but men do? Why Quran say "women are like fields, you can enter in them whenever and wherever you want"
I think most religions were founded with the belief that women are "less" than men, but when you have an abusive man who happens to be Christian it's domestic violence, not something that's put onto the religion. This belief of man-dominant societies is going to dissolve, and if some countries leaders' are to set in their ways, you can't put that to the religion
I'm an Atheist. I live in Czech Republic and here's lot of Christians. And I dont get this religion. So I don't get Islam. But anyway. Bible says: Don't kill, don't steal, have a respect for your parents, Don't cheat on your wife... This is the modern structure of good behaviour. That's why the Islam is such a target for not understanding and hate. Beacause when I was reading Quran: There were lines such as: Women are less than men, When you are afraid that your wife won't obey you beat her, kill all the people who try to take you away from you're religion. These things are basically breaking the laws. At least in non-islamic countries in the world. If you go along these lines you're taking away other people rights and freedom. I'm not saying all muslims are aggressive and support violence. But I just could not say I'm Muslim, because of these (in my oponion bad) things written in Quran. If you are suppossed to go along with Quran. How can someone be a muslim voluntarily? Like I have already said. I'm an Atheist and I don't need a god or a book to behave the right way!
I am a hijabi, And I fought to wear it bc my Muslim family didn’t want me to. Ppl should actually ask « whats your story » instead of stereotyping from the first glance
blue comet Yep... tough time but definitely worth it! So it’s kinda funny when people say stuff like “Women who like wearing hijab do so bc their families brainwashed them to like it”
I have a friend who wears a hijab I think she looks pretty in it I never question her for wearing it I think its unique ,and she is probably one of my most best friends ever!
I am a hijabi. I have feelings and I am a human just like you. I like food. I like music. I like fashion and clothes. I like everyone. I like animals. I like dancing. I like singing. I like traveling. I like learning about other countries. I like nature. I respect everyone. But it sad that I have to always smile and show people that I am not a threat. I don't want to hurt people. I want peace. I want love. I dream of becoming a leader and fixing the world. I dream of giving food to poor. I dream of helping and loving orphans. I love people of all race and religions. I am against violence, bullying and terrorism. And I hate how I always have to justify myself to everyone. I am a hijabi, and my extra piece of clothing shouldn't change how you treat me. "The terrorism that is terrorizing you, is terrorizing me too."
+Maham Khan So, you feel sort of like a Jew would feel living in Mecca? Of course, it's not illegal for you to live here as it is to be a Jew in so many Muslim countries....
Brian Liddicoat why do people like you bring your negativity everywhere and ruin everything. Why would a Jew need to live in Mecca anyway? for pilgrimage? Saudia only wants Saudis, they don't even want other Muslim countries..your comment doesn't make sense.
Love it! My knowledge of the Muslim faith is so limited but I am one of those that believes that the extremists are separate from the faithful members of the Muslim community. I wish we lived in a world in which we could all feel safe walking down the street.
to all the people who are saying the hijab is sexist why are skirts only targeted towards girls its SOOOOOO sexist (this is sarcasm if you couldn't tell)
It's a scarf, not a hijab. The hair does not appear in the Hijab, the scarf is just lying on head, hair visible. And in hindu case the the fabric is also transparent.
A few weeks ago I was at Target with my mom and my brother when I saw a woman wearing a hijab. I had a shocked look on my face because I had never actually seen someone wearing a hijab in public before. She had instantly put a smile on her face which made me smile back. It wasn't until a few minutes later I realized how sad it was to have someone feel obligated to smile just to show that they aren't what a lot of people would assume they would be. I wanted to walk up to that lady and tell her how brave she was to do this and that she is beautiful and not to listen to any of the hate and judgement.
that is a bit shocking tbh. i wanna know where it is u live because its a bit shocking u have NEVER seen a Muslim girl. we're literally everywhere lmaoo. (i dont mean to be offending btw)
***** how am I a terrorist ? Lol I'm a big fan of star wars and you being so deluded 😂 OMG you are very crazy lol you have a serious issue in your brain 😂
Poopy Garden PREACH SISTER ❤️❤️ Hi my name is Noor. I’m a new Muslim youtuber and I have a goal of reaching 100,000 subscribers. If you love and support Muslims please help me reach my goal 😊😊
"I have to smile at people all the time to show that all Muslims aren't scary" This line hit me so hard. I feel this line I do the same exact thing being black. Bless your heart.
This video makes me want to HUG every Hijabi woman that would let me. It’s hard enough being a woman, but with politics and religion being major judgment factors it sounds terrifying to wear a symbol of your different beliefs for the world to see. Talk about wearing you HEART! I hope one day the hijab can represent strength, faith, and determination because it takes courage to stand out every day when you know people will judge you.
Truly Christianity has more reasons to veil than Islam but many rebel against it. Spiritually the veil shows the covering of a woman's hair or glory which Jesus did when he was veiled in flesh to hide his glory. Moses veiled his face when among the children of Israel so they could not see the glory but removed it when he went up on the mountain to talk to God. In like manner we see the perfect example of a prophet like unto Moses when Jesus took Peter, James and John up on the mountain and the veil of his flesh was removed as he was transfigured and all three beheld the glory of God. The veil is also signifies the covering of the Spirit of God upon the saints and church as in Isaiah 30. The veil is removed for the test of jealousies and judgment begins in the house of God. many women do not realize that when they remove the veil they have no covering for their sin before their jealous God and Husband Jesus. Also, Rebecca veiled herself to meet Isaac and he being the child of promise is an example of Jesus. When Christian women expect to meet Jesus in a service to hear from him it is disrespectful for them to meet him unveiled. Not only in scriptures, but in deeper judgments women are to veil and we have more reasons than Islam. This is why I do respect the women who have veiled and have no desire to be as men. That pride which makes women want to be as men forsakes the important spiritual similitude of the saints being covered by the Spirit of God and women being created as a similitude of the bride of Christ, which are the words of Adam which the apostle Paul explained in Ephesians 5: 31, 32. Whether Niqab, Hijab, Chador, Burka, or chapel veil, they are all important in women being that example of the bride of Christ following Mary's example. If only more women would see this and return to veiling it would please God. May God bless.
"Let's move on to other topics!" That was a great statement! Reversing roles. I backpacked in Turkey for a month years ago (a nation that is 90% muslim) and elt MUCH safer there than in some neighborhoods jsut a few miles away from my front door. Media has played people for years and I would like to think that we are finally waking up now.
Why do people in today's society care so much if someone wears some cloth around their head? It changes nothing about them but their physical appearance and in the grand scheme of things it shouldn't have such meaning for everyone, just the person who's wearing it for their own personal/religious reasons. And its also sad that people who wear a hijab have to worry for their lives and feel like they are representing a very large and diverse group of people.
Sadly I think a lot of people think they are trying to hide something and the unknown is scary to some. I wish people would just accept others as they are instead of trying to control everyone to be how they deem fit. Everyone should walk around feeling safe and unafraid.
I'm a hijabi girl I'm free I'm not a terrorist I respect All the religions I don't kill people and blame it on someone else That he/she didn't do anything :)
I have a girl that goes to my school and she wears a Hijab. She's very quiet and I've never heard her talk before. A lot of the kids make fun of her and say that she's gonna "bomb the school" and it's really upsetting. After watching this video it makes me have so much more respect for her and I wish I knew more about her.
"I stand way back at the subway platforms". It is so sad they have to be paranoid about simple things such as waiting for the subway. And the fact that there are people out there who would push them off is terrifying. I hope someday they will feel safe.
You don’t have to be rude bout the people asking bout the scarf, it is a very apparent religious sign just as in any different religion. When you manifest your religion on a focal point of your body, people get interested. That’s how it works.
But it's a piece of cloth. Why should people care about asking them? It's not going to harm them. You only see it from one perspective because you don't wear it. Would someone always answer (without getting angry) of non-Christians constantly asking about the trinity? (the ones that follow the church's doctrine of the trinity) Christians get angry at Christians themselves for asking.
Im a hijabi girl and I recently changed my style I am proud of being an Islam I am glad that I live in a small peaceful Muslim country with a Sultan to rule and given the free education I may judge people who are Islam but dont wear hijab in public but I still respect them for who they are And I hope to khatam Quran by the end of this Ramadhan Amin
Look at the makeup artist's face at 1:28 when she said she is sometimes has to prove she's an American. Honestly look at it. Heartbreaking. I choked up. This is what some people are doing to us here in America. We love this country, so much. Why can't the country love us?
To the guys who say that its supposed to covering their hair fully. Clothes move as the day goes by. They are covering their hair. So what that there are a few peaking out, that's what happens hun. Stop being an idiot. I am a muslim and I'm ot a hijabi, but I know the struggle of trying to keep it in place. They're doing more than most of you have done to represent this religion
It's a scarf, not a hijab. The hair does not appear in the Hijab, Mary, the scarf is just lying on her head, her hair visible. She's wearing classic Jewish clothes.
@Zaheer Gangat At the end of the day the main takeaway is Islam is not compatible with the ideals and morals of the western world. We do not want Islam here because it is so drastically different from our culture and simply doesn't work
+Keei10 it's very empowering, I wear a hijab style veil because it's the easiest and best covering I've found. Go for it, the only thing I have to warn you about is the people in your parish and maybe even your priest will be confused but you could always pull out the Bible and give them the reasons, also it doesn't matter what they think, this is between you and God. I highly encourage you...
I'm Catholic for the most part, but a lot of my beliefs are Muslim and I wear a hijab sometimes because I believe in the reasons and beliefs behind it.
artiser 16 SUBHANALLAH. May Allah continue to soften your heart, towards this religion of peace, Ameen. God choses specifically on who is doing to be Muslim, you are probably one of the chosen ones. ❤️
aaaaa this girl was playing badminton at my school and she was wearing a pretty thick hijab, and i guess it wasn’t fastened very well. the poor girl was drenched in sweat and panting like crazy. the hijab kept slipping too so she had a hand on it almost always, and she looked very uncomfortable. the hijab was absolutely beautiful though, breathtaking, and she won her game, so i guess it worked out in the end. props to you people with various headscarfs!! your dedication and passion is very admirable
@@mohammedrehfan1624 have you tried as a man to wear a scarf around your head and neck? Can you please try it some hours to feel how we feel when some men just force us or talk badly about us when we decide not to wear it....
I have a hijabi friend and i didnt really notice it at first.. And she is so Nice! I do not understand that People cant respect hijabi women! Im Christian and that isent a problem but If you are a muslim wearing a hijab its bad?
I'm hijabi, but I'm forced to wear it. And in this case it's very bad, not the hijab itself, but stealing the freedom of the woman is the evil thing, especially when it happens in the name of the religion!
If a woman has the freedom to show her body, then she must have the freedom to cover it as well.
+Miss Agha I love this comment! :)
Nazi_Nightshade thank you :) Glad someone sees sense.
+Miss Agha
Da, da, and to guard themselves against lust, which is to be reserved for between husbands and wives. Allah specifically ordered men to control themselves first before he said anything about modesty to women.

"I wear the hijab, but why do you care so much?"
EXACTLY
I don't understand why Hajabi women would even get hate for being who they are and wearing what they want to wear.
I know right!! Woman get freedom to show off their bodies, they should also get the freedom to cover their bodies

I hope you and your family are safe, just know that I support her choice to wear the hijab and I think it's great she does what she wants despite many reasons to be afraid to do so. Sending love your way 😊💖
I hope your mom is safe and sound from the crazy people in the crazy world :)
Why your mom wear one?
she is a good woman for that. she is standing up for others and is saying, do not judge. your mother is an activist for Muslims and is a great woman
well as long as u guys don't live in the messed up area, I think she will be fine.
In my parent's generation, it was common for Christian women to wear hats in church to "avoid offending God". No one claimed that it was oppression. Some Jewish women cover their hair in the temple for the same reason. If women wear a hijab by choice I'm all for their right to choose.
if an American girl has the right to wear a t shirt bra and booty shorts then anyone has the right to wear a hijab
Abeer Almo EXACTLY
I really like one of the reasons some girls wear a hijab! A friend of mine told me that it was purely her decision to wear it because she wants her future husband to fall in love with her soul and not her beauty (in her culture hair is considered to be one of the main beauty items)
btw, fyi Qur'an (I hope I'm spelling it right, if not - I am very sorry0 doesn't order the women to cover their hair, this decision is usually made inside the family :)
+Amber Pen Coming from a Muslim family, this is TRUE.

I'm a hijabi woman, and no, i dont wear it in the shower.
+TheRoastTurkey that definitely needed to be said, lol
Also, I'm a hijabi and I don't wear hijab when I go to sleep. lol (Yes people ask that)
Grace Brielle same hahahs
+TheRoastTurkey why do you wear it?
Hijab is for both physical modesty, which is why women and close family members are the only ones who can see us without our hijab, and a general spiritual connection with God, which is why we wear hijab when we pray even when there are no men around.
I am Hijabi.
But I am not oppressed.
+PakiAndProud But there are many others that are oppressed because of it.
+PakiAndProud That's because you're in a secular state that cares not about Islam.
Try taking it off then. Then you'll know how oppressed you really are.

So when I say "Get your facts right." I don't mean "Read the Quran and you'll understand." I mean "Bring the Quran and ask someone of knowledge to clear it up for you, go for a lecture if you need to, cross reference and check the history,"
so once again, you can't just read the Holy Quran and expect to understand its complex messages and meanings and make your own judgments upon them.
( Mark 4: 11-12)
11 He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secret[a] of the Kingdom of God. But I use parables for everything I say to OUTSIDERS, 12 so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled:
‘When they see what I do,
THEY WILL LEARN NOTHING.
When they hear what I say,
THEY WILL NOT UNDERSTAND.
Otherwise, they will turn to me
and be forgiven.’[b]
-------------------------------------------------------
In other words, unless you are really looking for God, these words will not make sense.....

I am a woman and I choose to cover myself so that I am judged for my brain and intellect and not my body.
+skchalivetlnd come on. you know that's not what she meant, but, you can still pray for her 👍
covering my body does not at all mean that I am "ashamed" of it +skchalivetlnd
What is actually sad is that you associate modesty with with insecurity.

Lunaerus.
+Lunaerus I agree and I'm muslim lol
This is so important especially with all that's going on. Islamophobia is a real, pressing problem that needs to be addressed.
+Ollie Burton Islam as a whole is not oppressive to women. There is radical Islam and regular Islam.
I’m a hijabi woman but, I’m not Muslim. I’m Christian and I wear it for modesty and celibacy and I stand with my Muslim sisters 💛🧕🏽

If a lady wants to expose her hair then let her, if a lady wants to cover it, then let her. That's what you call free will.
kipper sayshi said it im muslim countries, where women without hijab are punished
in western world they can wear whatever they want, in cas you didn't notice
Tell that to the woman in France who was forced to remove her hijab by police officers at the beach because it "didn't respect good morals and secularism".
Lility tell that to the woman in Afghanistan who was raped and stoned to death for taking her hijab off
you seem to not see the real problems on the world
Dude, I'm not saying "The Middle East is the most peaceful place in the world and everyone there is free to express their beliefs anyway they want and also they respect everyones rights, specially women's".
I'm a hijabi woman and I have hair
I am Hijabi.
And I'm not forced to wear it.
My dad actually doesn't want me to wear it cuz of recent events and recent attacks. He's scared that I'll get hurt.
+PakiAndProud Cool, really nice you're too stupid to realize the origin of what you're doing.
+Kirboo Kirb surprise surprise another non Muslim thinking they know the origin for the hijab.
Don't lie
***** And I agree with ___ms
honestly you can say whatever you want but I was never forced to wear my hijab.
Maram Munib google, facts and logic are haram and the holy book should be written by the pedophile
Maram Munib I smile at everyone because I love everyone
You probably don't understand where the vast majority of poor and uneducated muslim women stands. We don't care about you and your D&G headscarf. The simple fact that you can't see their pain and don't understand that getting rid of the headscarf or allowing them to study is a small step or a symbol to help them rise makes you a horrible person. You should feel ashamed that you consider women have a choice when they don't even know how to write their names. Think they have internet to say what they believe? Hypocrite!
I'm a "hijabi"(or I wear head coverings & modest clothes whatever you wanna call it) but I'm not Muslim. I'm a Christian.😊
I am hijabi but no one forced me wear hijab
Yes did, but this is my religion and God ordered me to wear hijab , and all religions order different duties
Mr. reality
Why do you do such bad things with the Muslims?

+Victoria P YES GIRL YESSSSSS
I remember at least one girl from that "women wear the hijab for a week" video said a similar thing about feeling like she had to smile more. It's really sad that something that many of these women wear to feel less judged on their appearance is the exact thing that people judge about their appearance.
I am a hijabi but believe me I am far from nice😂
You women are amazing. You are strong and a valid people. You guys are awesome and thank you for sharing your wonderful stories. We are with you, for now and forever.
People are okay with covering the legs,hands,bossoms,back,feet,e.t.c but they have a problem with people covering their heads?!! Taking offense from someone's headscarf doesn't even make sense.
"Oh they should be free to show off their beauty"
"Covering the hair doesn't hide beauty, "
Those two comments come from the anti hijab people and are so ironic !
Faiz Pyranha That is what I mean, most people mean burkas when they say hijab
Faiz Pyranha :)
People take offence because it's misogynistic
"I'm An Atheist, But I'm Not..."
+froggydojo Maybe if people stop asking they'll actually make it, think about that one
SpiceOrange What kind of logic is that?
***** Well how many people did you see ask for 'I'm A Hijabi Woman, But I'm Not...'?
SpiceOrange None, but people asked for "I'm a Feminist, But I'm Not..." and "I'm Bisexual, But I'm Not...".
I'm an atheist, but I'm not sensitive towards other people beliefs
Have a nice day ;)
I don't think the woman it forces it a fashion statement too.
You can't judge a person by their clothes...
im a muslim but i live in canada and i wear a hijab i cover my skin,im brave but strong
these kinds of video frustates me cause the amount of racist comments are overwhelming and amazingly ignorant
+devina novirianty me too
+devina novirianty I don't really understand, a cursory scroll reveals no racism at all. Are there any examples?
+Ollie Burton i meant islamophobia sorry
***** then you would have known that to kill a person means killing the whole race in our religion and is strictly banned. we are not allowed to force our beliefs to other people because it's their business, not ours. what you islamophobics always bring up is the terorrists and if you did educate yourself about it, you would have known that this religion itself is againts that
Racist comments? Islam isn't a race. It's a religion. You can't be racist against a religion.
A couple of months ago, I realized that wearing a hijab makes me a target of people's attention on the streets. So now I make the effort to smile at them, no matter who they are. It's my small way of combating stereotypes.
❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Last month I have noticed that wearing my nazi uniform attracts a lot of attention on the street so now I just smile a lot and wave my raised hand at people :3
+ObscureNemesis 😂😂😂
Kinda the same for me when i get in the bus with my mum people stare its embarrassing i know what people r thinking but i wish I didn't
"I wear the hijab and I smile at people all the time so they know all Muslims aren't scary"
LITERALLY SAME

+Faisal Mansour hello😁😁😁
Why do people look at the hijab as a sexist thing? Allah (god) told women to wear hijab to protect and reserve our dignity.
Allah didn't say anything of the kind. At most, patriarchal men claiming to speak in Allah's name
@Francesca Buonanno if you're walking around half naked, how are you not presenting yourself as a sexual object? Please explain this to me :)
Gleurielle disgusting pervert. You should be in jail
I am a Hijabi girl
but I'm not oppressed
I'm not forced to wear a hijab
I'm not less than a man
I'm proud of who I am
So why are you 50% value of men for testimony and with legacy donation between parents and children? Why you cant have slaves but men do? Why Quran say "women are like fields, you can enter in them whenever and wherever you want"
So.. you're religion doesn't say that women are less than men?
I think most religions were founded with the belief that women are "less" than men, but when you have an abusive man who happens to be Christian it's domestic violence, not something that's put onto the religion. This belief of man-dominant societies is going to dissolve, and if some countries leaders' are to set in their ways, you can't put that to the religion
what do you mean
Ppl should actually ask « whats your story » instead of stereotyping from the first glance
sweetSALLAM i know this feeling. i fought for 1 year
blue comet Yep... tough time but definitely worth it!
So it’s kinda funny when people say stuff like “Women who like wearing hijab do so bc their families brainwashed them to like it”
I have a friend who wears a hijab I think she looks pretty in it I never question her for wearing it I think its unique ,and she is probably one of my most best friends ever!
I'm a Hijabi, but I'm not a Terrorist.
+Maham Khan u don't make any sense.
Love it! My knowledge of the Muslim faith is so limited but I am one of those that believes that the extremists are separate from the faithful members of the Muslim community. I wish we lived in a world in which we could all feel safe walking down the street.
to all the people who are saying the hijab is sexist
why are skirts only targeted towards girls
its SOOOOOO sexist
(this is sarcasm if you couldn't tell)
Hindu women can wear hijabs too. Hijabs aren't exclusively Muslim.

I'm a hijabi girl, and I wouldn't give it up for the world 🌎
Poopy Garden PREACH SISTER ❤️❤️ Hi my name is Noor.
+ShamelessBroadway we feel you :) be strong
I almost cried when she said that she had to stand back at the subway...
I just want to thank whoever had the idea for this video. I really loved it, thank you.
I'm a hijabi women. And I'm not too young to wear one (I'm 12)
itsyaya ehsan tell em girl!
You're not a woman, you're a girl. Please don't let anyone tell you that.
i am a reform jewish girl and i wear a tichel (headscarf) even though it’s mainly worn by orthodox jews that are married. i see it as respect to god
Emily a Respect your God indeed.
May God bless.
its just a piece of cloth..not a fuckin gun or bomb...gosh
yeah but the society has made a big deal about it so they are standing up for themselves
Ikr its so annoying
media is over exaggerated
scarf is a piece of cloth
hijab is a piece of religion of islam
pls, learn the difference
+Szara Eminencja your racist , if you have insta please DM I'll tell you the stuff you didn't know about Islam
their smiles on their faces is the best thing ever!🌸
"Let's move on to other topics!" That was a great statement! Reversing roles. I backpacked in Turkey for a month years ago (a nation that is 90% muslim) and elt MUCH safer there than in some neighborhoods jsut a few miles away from my front door. Media has played people for years and I would like to think that we are finally waking up now.
+Michael Filimon Why don't you move there then?
Why move when I can enjoy the globe?
I think that as/is needs to make a video with these hijabi women reacting to the comments
YAAS
Why do people in today's society care so much if someone wears some cloth around their head? It changes nothing about them but their physical appearance and in the grand scheme of things it shouldn't have such meaning for everyone, just the person who's wearing it for their own personal/religious reasons. And its also sad that people who wear a hijab have to worry for their lives and feel like they are representing a very large and diverse group of people.
Because they have a weak mind
Sadly I think a lot of people think they are trying to hide something and the unknown is scary to some. I wish people would just accept others as they are instead of trying to control everyone to be how they deem fit. Everyone should walk around feeling safe and unafraid.
I'm a hijabi girl
I'm free
I'm not a terrorist
I respect All the religions
I don't kill people and blame it on someone else That he/she didn't do anything :)
Go say 'HI!"
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !!!
If I were in your position I would stick up for her. Please help her out 😟
That's awful!
+hamad alshebel I'm sorry that happened to you :( we are on summer break right now but if I see her in school next year I'll make sure to say hello!
"I stand way back at the subway platforms". It is so sad they have to be paranoid about simple things such as waiting for the subway. And the fact that there are people out there who would push them off is terrifying. I hope someday they will feel safe.
+Jess Bruner Oh isn't it just! It breaks my heart. It's so sad that we live in a world where the good have to state that they are!
Kso ya but how would you like if Muslim women came asking you questions about why you don't we're hijab k but I wouldn't mind but other people do.
Im a hijabi girl and I recently changed my style
I am proud of being an Islam
I am glad that I live in a small peaceful Muslim country with a Sultan to rule and given the free education
I may judge people who are Islam but dont wear hijab in public but I still respect them for who they are
And I hope to khatam Quran by the end of this Ramadhan
Amin
" I'm more than just a woman in a scarf."
why is it funny
i am a hijabi woman and i am not a muslim. :)
Good for you 💖
😊🙏💕
Look at the makeup artist's face at 1:28 when she said she is sometimes has to prove she's an American. Honestly look at it. Heartbreaking. I choked up. This is what some people are doing to us here in America. We love this country, so much. Why can't the country love us?
+Samih Barakat That look broke my heart. You could see her pain!
They Look very beautiful with Hijab
"I'm an atheist but I'm not" seriously Buzzfeed, It's straight up rude that you're ignoring the people asking for it
+Evan Gironda who says they aren't working on it right now? o_O
They're doing more than most of you have done to represent this religion
that moment when you realize Mary mother.of Jesus wore a hijab...
Hahahahaha omg😂 yessss.
Shawnee Farrell 😂😂😄👍👍
It's a scarf, not a hijab. The hair does not appear in the Hijab, Mary, the scarf is just lying on her head, her hair visible. She's wearing classic Jewish clothes.
Stázka hijab was never dictated specifically. But i see your point. At the end she was jewish. And still mad respect to her.
I'm proud to be a Muslim and a hijabi
Your proud to support sexism?
@Zaheer Gangat But the problem is they have no choice as to whether or not they can wear it
@Zaheer Gangat At the end of the day the main takeaway is Islam is not compatible with the ideals and morals of the western world. We do not want Islam here because it is so drastically different from our culture and simply doesn't work
@@myamdane6895 men and women both have modesty do calm down
@@myamdane6895 we have a choice
I wish I had the courage to be a hijabi. One day inshallah.
+mexcian rainbow I love my religion & I love God. How about you seek a religion huh?
+mexcian rainbow i dont even know what to tell you right now
+mexcian rainbow i think it's the easier way ^^
+sumairaa mulla I'll take your advice on board. Thank youuu 😊
***** prove you have a brain (i need to see it, hold it and squeeze it to be sure it aint fake) then we can talk :)
I'm liking this video as an Atheist !
I'm a hijabi, but I'm not muslim... I'm catholic
+Kaylee Johnson That's great! I'm also catholic and sometimes I think about using something hijab-ish. :D
+Kaylee Johnson A lot of Arab Christians cover their hair when they enter a church.
+Kaylee Johnson everyone has the right to wear hijab :)
+priceless_kim wattpadienne thanks and that's actually one reason I do wear it to be more like Mary. I appreciate your support
"I always have to smile so people won't think woman's with Hijabi aren't scary" broke my heart.
I am a hijabi and am Muslim and the only one in my family and I love to wear my hijab and I don't care what people do
I'm Catholic for the most part, but a lot of my beliefs are Muslim and I wear a hijab sometimes because I believe in the reasons and beliefs behind it.
U are so correct The Bible, Quran and Torah all have words of truth and therefor I also believe in all of them
artiser 16 SUBHANALLAH. May Allah continue to soften your heart, towards this religion of peace, Ameen. God choses specifically on who is doing to be Muslim, you are probably one of the chosen ones. ❤️
How many muslims on here pretending to be Catholic? Show of hands.
aaaaa this girl was playing badminton at my school and she was wearing a pretty thick hijab, and i guess it wasn’t fastened very well. the poor girl was drenched in sweat and panting like crazy. the hijab kept slipping too so she had a hand on it almost always, and she looked very uncomfortable. the hijab was absolutely beautiful though, breathtaking, and she won her game, so i guess it worked out in the end. props to you people with various headscarfs!! your dedication and passion is very admirable
That can happen when you tie the hijab too tightly as it affects the neck area but if you tie it a bit loosely it will be okay
It's very uncomfortable.... and it becomes more uncomfortable when it's just under pressure...
