Lovely bowls. Excellent mix of interesting shapes with the epoxy. I’m meeting the very recent widow of a good friend tomorrow morning who was a woodworker, and he offered me his tools to add to my collection, before his sad passing last month. It’s been about 30 years since I’ve run a lathe, but am planning on turning my hand to it again. My general area of woodworking has been in small boats and general construction projects.
    Cheers from Tassie.

Good morning 🌅, Well done, very nice Art work, could not quite see what type of brush you were using to apply your finish finish, but there is a silicon brush that you can use. I think it’s normally used for barbecues., but it allows you to apply the resin without leaving bristles, And obviously, the resin will not stick to the bristles of the brush so you can remove them a lot easier, You might have already heard of the guy in Canada, called Sprague Woodturning, I have been watching him for years, he is into resin and wood products wood turning ,
Stay safe keep up the great work , from France,

Great to hear from you bro.. Yes use a poly disposable brush. I use CA glue at the base of the brush to prevent bristles escaping when applying the epoxy. Yes I subscribe to Sprague he has made some beautiful work. Cheers!

3:25 Always a good time to check the tightness of your chuck jaws... I just lost a bowl literally a few minutes ago as Im watching this. When I broke the connection to the live center the whole thing spun off the lathe across the room and shattered. Fortunately, it was a cheap piece of cedar post I was using for practice. Would have made a cute little bowl though...
Some day, I hope to approach this level. Beautiful!

I feel for you mate, we have all lost pieces flying from the lathe for one reason or another. When it happens we often stand back wipe the sweat from our brow and thank the heavens it didn’t make contact with any part of us. We take a moment - then we get stuck right back in. Enjoy turning. Cheers!

Very nice work. What were the dimension of the bowls? Just curious how you came out at 333.00 a piece? Do you price by size or, time or, looks? I have tried several approaches but haven't found a tried and true way yet to price without over pricing. I also advertize as 1 of a kind because I have never made duplicates and even if I did, no two would be the same.

Two of them were 11x3 and the blue one was 11x4 approx. Listed them at $350 each. The price is decided from other epoxy bowls all around the same price mine were listed at.
