If you are having issues with diagonal or dead zones on the analog sticks then press the back reset button of the controller while the Xbox is off and controller is powered on.
Hmm...this is looking quite tempting to use for PC and og Xbox gaming. Love the color.
I got mine over the weekend and at first I was not impressed. The diagonals on the right stick were almost non-existent making aiming in Halo: CE nearly impossible. What fixed it for me was pressing the reset button on the back of the controller while my Xbox was turned off with controller turned on. Now it's great! Hopefully the upcoming firmware update fixes the minor issues with the controller.
Gonna try this later on as I've got the same issue with diagonals
Let us know how it turns out. I can add a pinned comment if the re-sync button fixes diagonals.

I have this, the Defender (PS1/2/3 Switch, PC) and the Brawler 64 NSO. Everything I've gotten from Retro Fighter has been high quality, and performed at or above expectation.
3:30 the instructions say NOTHING about the sync button on the back. I've been trying to get it connected for over an hour. Thank you!

Glad I was able to help. It is very odd the back reset button is not mentioned on the controller diagram.
oh i can confirm this works with the xbox 360 and xbox one and series x if you own a brook super converter or mayflash adpter

I've always found Retro Fighters controllers such a mixed bag. They always look and feel great, but I don't think I've had a single one that hasn't had some sort of out the box issue, and not all of them have been possible to fix with firmware or reset tricks. Its a shame because it feels like they're SO close to being amazing products, but always seem to fall a little short, mainly cos of what feels like QA issues rather than anything inherent to the product.
That said, their customer service has always been amazing for me, genuinely some of the best I've experienced

Super happy with the controllers. I got 2 transparent green yesterday. I tried them out and they're awesome! I do have one little complaint though. I connected both controllers and they work fine as player 1 and 2, but the LED light stays always as player one on both controllers regardless of the port where you have the dongle connected to, the LED light never changes. I'm a little confused about that.... If you can check that out for all of us please 🤘🎮🕹🍻 thanks
ooh that is odd. The quick start guide says the second LED should illuminate for player 2 or when connected to PC/Switch via Xinput. Hopefully that can be fixed in the future.
How did you get this to be in Xinput mode on pc, I cannot get it to be Xinput, holding down the connection button for 3 seconds like it says on the instructions does not work for me.
For Xinput on my PC, I powered on the controller with the middle home button (flashing red lights), plugged in the USB, then pressed the reset button on the back.
My biggest thing is the rumble/vibration. How is that in comparison to the original wired controllers? Is it as strong? Thanks in advance
I'm not sure how the rumble compares to the OG controller, but I have no complaints. The feel of the controller is amazing.
Do you think the dpad feel and face button size things are objectively bad, or just not the feel you’re used to?
I like the dpad better than the newer xbox controllers. The face button size does not bother me. I do have smaller hands.
Why didn’t you run the circular test? Mine is averaging over 5% error on a Hall effect stick. Also mine has been missing inputs like crazy, sometimes I can press a face button 4 times in a row before it will register, this is only an issue with connecting to a Xbox console. It works fine on the pc running the Pad Tester. Also the sticks are a little too loose and don’t have the resistance as the original do. All in all I’m not impressed. If only GameSir would make one….
For the Circularity test on hardwaretester.com/gamepad I receive between 4-5% error. I see identical results with a stock Xbox Series X controller. I am not experiencing an button misses. You can try the back reset button trick. If that doesn't work you may need to contact Retro Fighters for a replacement.
how does this compare to the wingman adapter?
I have never used the wingman, but I really like the feel of retro fighters.
Pre-ordered 2 last year and the Oct 23 deadline was missed. Finallly received the controllers a few days ago. The dpad is not good as it feel sharp and clunky. Not smooth as it should. The abxy buttons are to small. The xbox s controller buttons are slightly larger and the gap between is less making it easier to transition. Modern xbox and switch controller have very large abxy and the Hunter should to. Swing and a miss. I'll stick to my wired xbox s controllers.
Does the Xbox dongle also have to be charged up?
No. It is powered by the Xbox.
@CO3Productions OK, thanks. I could not get the dongle to recognize my controller because I did not know it had to be inserted before turning on the Xbox. Got it to work now.
Does anyone know if it works with a non modded OG Xbox?
Yes, the Retro Fighters Hunter will work with a stock console. It uses the standard controller connection.
Mine has a ton of lag. Not impressed at all.
I have not noticed any lag. Even running through a capture card. Have you tried resyncing with the button on the bottom? Others have noticed better results after a resync.
@@CO3Productions I’ve tried a few things over the weekend. If I use the controller on an Xbox hooked up to a CRT, it’s fine. No perceived lag(it’s never zero), plays good. When I play on an Xbox hooked up to HD, which already introduces some lag as it is, it just feels way worse. If I play a retro emulator on the Xbox, it’s even laggier.
I’ll keep it for my CRT Xbox. But my HD one, it’s just too much lag from multiple sources.
