I got a Genesis 2 a few years ago in anticipation of the Mega SG. Took it apart for a deep clean and used some generic pledge on the outside. This is way shinier. Looks brand new. Thanks for sharing your process. I know you've mentioned the products a few times in the past. Streets of Rage is probably my favorite Genesis game.

Never used 303 on game consoles before but would definitely consider it. Usually when I first get a used console I take it all apart and clean the case in the sink with soap and water. Occasionally there'll be some dead critters inside. Very nice looking finished product what you've done there

Think it is one of the most beautiful consoles ever made. Remember vividly the amazement every time I stuck a cart in that thing, felt so futuristic at the time, coming from the vcr like box of nes (or even the polygon shaped Master System).
The Mega Drive and the model 1 Sega Saturn are my votes for the two most stunning looking systems. Just wish Sega did a black Dreamcast (they did one but it had 'Sega Sports' printed on the lid) A full black Dreamcast would look stunning. Sega knew how to make beautiful looking systems.
Any kind of polish (even rubbing compound) will work too. Doesn't need to be made for plastic. I use the same stuff on my game systems that I use on my car. You can even sand them if you have 5000+ grit sandpaper.

Great bundle and instructions! I ended up getting the custom covers from Printer Boy for my consoles because I got tired of cleaning them and reapplying the 303 over the years.
I've been using that Aerospace 303 clothes on my solar panels for a few months now - never had higher wattage then after using them and they still look clean after intense UV exposure. Like MLP says, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The first console that my parents bought for me was a model 2 Genesis. Miss it to this day. Wish I had kept it. Might as well throw my hat into the ring and try for this one. Would be sweet.
Looks good. I also have used a plastic spray polish called Plexus. It really good for clear shiny stuff including jewel cases and even CD and DVD surfaces.
I have the Genesis with the Sega CD that mounts on the side and the 32x as well. The 1st Genesis Game that blew me away was Strider! Great Video Ron thanks for sharing!
I've been interested in trying the novus scratch remover. I'm really impressed with how well it turned out. The Genesis looks beautiful. I will have to try it for myself.
Novus is my main product for cleaning and polishing pinball playfields. It's probably the leading pinball playfield cleaner. We typically only use Novus 2, but Novus 3 is good for the metal parts.
Wow the Genesis looks super sweet after being cleaned, that stuff is awesome. Have to give it a try one day. Just one of my favorite games for the Genesis was Ghost Busters. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Novus 2 is also particularly useful for getting rid of scratches on discs. I've used it to completely repair a non-working ps1 disc and get it back to the stage where it plays every time.
I've been using the 303 stuff for quite a while on my Hot Toys figures and it does a great job keeping the rubbers and plastics clean and fresh. Great stuff. Oh and if you ever want to remove sticker residues from consoles or from cartridges try rubbing some WD40 on them. That stuff literally dissolves the glue and you can just swipe it of after a while, polishing the surface in the process. Much better than peeling and rubbing like a moron potentially damaging the surface in the process.

I never knew I would try to rebuy my old collection. Sonic 1 was my all-time favorite game. I just snagged a Sonic 1 cartridge at a recent expo, but alas, no Genesis to play it on yet. It's like having peanut butter with no jelly. I always circled back to Sonic 1, even after dabbling with other games on the Genesis in the '90s. I haven't tried Musha or Whip Rush yet, but they're queued up in my backlog.

You really showed that Genesis some love by cleaning it. The Genesis looks really good. I recently got an Mega Everdrive Pro so I will be able to play many games. But my most favorite game is Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles. I like the third Sonic game first the Second game Second and the first game third. I also like Sonic 3D blast but it is different then the original games.

Not the Novus 2 unless you really over do it, I havent had an issue ever with it, but Novus 3 definitely can with less effort on some plastics.. so I rarely use that one unless its really bad with scratches. If you say are trying to polish clear acrylic then the novus 3 is great, as you start with that then go to the 2 then use the #1 to finish.

I use this exact same method. Works great and the 303 blocks UV. Be careful not to get the 303 on clear parts. Read the instructions carefully.

I typically use microfiber, light alcohol and then Behold or pledge to bring bring out the shine. I’m curious about the Aerospace.
