According to the readings on the thermometer, it could be the flux capacitor is operating at 2.4 ghz and the WiFi booster may be shorting out the led circuits - due to insufficient carbon fiber in the intake to the bleeder valve leading to the DEF tank, thereby creating a negative pressure in the injection pump causing an inconsistency in voltages to the transducer.
Eddie, i had a brand new 2019 ram 2500 big horn the company i work for leased for me and the AC had the same problem. In my opinion it felt as if the ac was plenty cold but the fan just wasn’t blowing hard enough to give you that nice AC feeling.
Who said turn air recycle off to make it colder?😂 that’s just silly lol. When you have it off it’s sucking hot ambient air from outside. When it’s on it’s sucking the “pre-cooled” cool air from the cab, making it easier for the system to push colder air. But anyways, that does seem a little warm even for being decently hot out. I’ve tested the A/C air temp on My 03 Silverado a couple times & it puts out right around 40 degrees on a “regular summer day” for my area (about 85-90 degrees, 45-65% humidity). When it’s a little cooler like 75-80 it’ll get down to mid 30s like around 37 degrees or so. And when it’s really hot, around 95-110 degrees with low humidity it was pushing out about 45degrees. & oh the passenger side is usually always a little colder, because the vents are shorter/closer to the source.
In theory it's true because of the temp deltas. There is greater heat transfer capability with hot air. Same thing as how cold water will boil faster than hot water
you should have spent a little more time with the machine hooked to the truck. I would run a good vaccum then charge to 1.3 lbs run the truck monitor pressures and temp then bump the refrigerant amount a tenth of a pound at a time to see if the low side drops a little more. the sticker may say 1.31 but might blow colder with 1.40 or 1.45 in it. you should also watch how low the suction side can get and see if it results in lower vent temp because it could be an actuator issue, actuator door leaking cold air out behind the dash or mixing with hot air from the heater core. You should be able to get low 40's even on a hot day. your gmc was not in the 20's otherwise your evap would be freezing up.
50-55 degrees is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Especially down here in AZ when it’s 117F. I use my truck like a mobile office I want to freeze when im on a job site or idling waiting for someone. I leave my truck running to cool down my self and get in every 20-30 min. And at mid 50s temp that won’t work. And I agree 1.3 pounds is really low should be at least 2 pounds
There’s a TSB out for this now. Fixes this exact issue: AC issues are a combination of the blend doors not sealing correctly (hence the reason for the new HVAC box part number), a duct temp sensor location (the reason for the new distribution box part number and new temp sensor), and HVAC module mapping (the reason for the new HVAC module part number). static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10184475-9999.pdf Cheers
I have a 19 Silverado crew cab and it sometimes helps if I shut the rear air vents. It doesn't seem as cold as my 13 Sorento I had before but it still gets cold after a few minutes. I figure it takes longer because it's a bigger system. Also, I've heard the air is colder if the fan is slower. Good luck with your new truck man. It's really nice.
I bet if you added an additional condenser fan you would cool down more. Maybe there's a TSB that adjust the condenser fan speed. It's almost like your condenser fan may be spinning to slow. You should put a big ass fan from your shop in front of the truck (and spray it down with water) and see if that lowers the vent temp. Your A/C machine is an older one too. The new ones have a charge accuracy within 1/2 an ounce which is much more accurate than the Snap On unit you have. This is especially crucial on smaller capacity units like yours.
I know it’s a long shot and difficult because not everyone has free access to a AC machine but I charged mine to factory specs and wasn’t that cold and I bumped mine up in .10 increments with the AC going and a fan blowing into the front of the truck and my 03 duramax blows 34 degree air on 95+ degrees days. It wound up holding almost a 1/2lb over factory specs.
Put your ac gauges on the low side pressure should be about 35 psi with the engine at 1200 rpm. Then look at the low side gauge. There is a scale on the gauge that will show the evaporator temperature. 35 psi will be 40 degrees at the evaporator. Your center vent air will be within about 5 degrees of the evaporator temperature. If it is more than that you have a blend door problem. If your low side psi is higher than 35 you don’t have enough Freon
2019 ram half ton 4x4 with new style coolant system. My fan speed rarely goes over 4 because it'll freeze you out of the truck. Hot/humid Oklahoma weather, btw.
Eddie have efren put hose clamp pliers on the heater hoses going into the cab to shut off the heater core and if your ac starts cooling better you know the problem is inside with a blend door or actuator not closing/sealing properly letting warm air come out with cold and keeping it at 50
Maybe the driver side temperature blend door malfunctioning or vent vent temp sensor reading incorrectly. Probably a safety feature the truck has. Pretty cool though.
That would be miserable in Louisiana with the humidity. We are at 101 today....My F250 blowing around 40. Just doesn't seem right that Ram would make an inferior A/C system. Very weird.
I have a 2018 2500 with the Cummins and my AC sucks as well. The air doesn’t come out of the vents very forcefully and what air does come out isn’t as cold as I feel it should be also. I swapped my cabin filter out with a K&N one and it seems to have helped a little bit but like you I expected better from a brand new truck. I’m almost suspecting some sort of blocked ducting or something with how my AC performs. Definitely not as good as the GM trucks but that’s the only complaint I have about mine so far.
It may be the blend door accuator mine was worse I had to go to 90 degrees than back to 60 degrees and it would work. Took to dealer and the blend door was bad. Much better now.
Hey Eddie. I have a new 18' Ram 3500 single. At first the ac was like your experiencing. Then I tried the auto climate control. Just set the temp you want, ( I do 69*) and let it do its thing. It controls fan speed, seat cooling. All automatic. The lower the temp, the cooler it is coming from the vents. When the cab starts to reach set temp the fans slow down. Pretty cool ( no pun intended ) feature. Give it a try. Btw, I'm south of you in Oside. I'm currently researching the deploying bumper step I saw on the 19" power wagon for getting into the bed. Let you know what I find. Awesome vids!👍✌🤙
Agree with setting system to auto. Set it and forget it, when I turn on A/C which shuts down the Auto mode it's not nearly as cool. I'll have to turn on max cool to keep up with Auto.
Thats cool you pulled over to help those motorists. The road side is an extremely dangerous place to be! I always pull infront of the vehicle for safety reasons. It only takes one driver texting and not paying attention to create a really bad situation... Stay safe my friend!
My work truck is blowing cold, but it’s just not a large enough volume of air to displace the West Texas heat. It’s a brand new 2500 truck, and this is my only disappointment.
Why not let it run for a long time on hi, and as the truck cools off on the inside and the temp is at 75 or so, see how cool the vent is then and see if it blows out even colder? Homes should be around 20-21 or so below what the temp in the house is, so assuming vehicles are the same way, to an extent?
There is a service bulletin which is basically a reprogramming of the computer..... it helped my AC tremendously... was done in a few minutes by the dealer
The A/C is different between the drivers and passenger side for sure 6 or so degrees, it does cool down and the pass side blows low 40's once cooled off, but it really takes a while to get there.
Passenger side is closer to the condenser Coil, that’s why it’s colder on that side... I have a set of fans from a truck stop that blows the passengers side to the driver side in my 2012 ram 3500 SLT... FYI 2500 and 3500s Do Not have cabin air filters so if you do a lot of dirty/Dusty driving the condenser will get dirty quick and slow your airflow way down... And the are a bitch to clean...
I got the same issues with my A/C I close the rear vents and front of cab stays fuller. I think its the blower. The jeep Rubicon has more velocity in my opinion. ram should put the motor in the jeep in there ram's. Check out your wifes A/C Big difference.
Drove a new ultimate yesterday here in AZ, 110 out and the AC was HORRIBLE!!! It couldn't even begin to cool down the truck, our all blacked out Navi immediately cools down and so has all of our F150's previously even when 110+ out.
At 14:15 above your GPS it said numb numb. I got hungry for a second 😋 I think it still blows cold bud. Your pops just got in your head. Truck is so clean bro!
There is a bulletin on this issue. Sticker wrong under hood. Shows 510g but if you charge it with 567g it will cool fine. Bring it into us at dealership if under warranty and we will fix for free.
You know what I think brother I think your pops got in your head about your A/C and now it’s bugging the hell out of you lol but idn I can be wrong I’d take it back to RAM dealer and have it checked
Recirculate should deff be cooler. And the unit shouldn’t have to work as hard. Also read on a forum where someone reported Ram had attached an incorrect sticker under the hood for the amount of Freon. Last edit, also check and see if you feel the ac blowing through the defroster vent. When it’s humid my windshield gets condensation.
I've noticed this on other new vehicles not just RAM, I think it's a fuel efficiency strategy thing they're doing to meet EPA requirements just like the Auto Start/Stop technology that people also hate. BTW the passenger side is colder because the evaporator is on the passenger side.
I test drove a brand new RAM 1500 this week and it never cooled off completely. I also test drove a Ford F-150 and a GMC AT4 also and they were ice cold. Seems to be a common RAM problem.
Turn you max ac button on then turn your fan speed down if you don't want it blowing that hard. I believe max ac cycles your compressor longer. Mines a 2018 but what I described worked for me. I struggled with the same issue going from a gm ac to ram ac.
@@EddieLife3500 That's to bad. Ram must have changed how that function works in the 19's . I'd be interested to see the temp yours blows when it is in max ac mode and see if it gets below that 49dagrees. The air temp should be around 34-38 coming out of the vents on high. If you think about it the evaporator gets to freezing to be able to pull the moisture out of the air.
I traded my Ford F-150 that spoiled me with cold AC, now i bought a 2020 Laramie, tinted my windows to keep the sun heat out . It helped a little but it’s not the best AC specially for a new truck
That definitely doesn’t seem like it’d be cold enough to cool that big of a cab, especially when all our gm trucks growing up would get down to low 40s easily. They definitely skimped somewhere.
Maybe lack off air flow on that vent your not getting enough cold air. Try closing all the vents except the ones that are not getting cold air and then check if it gets colder.
My dealership keeps telling me that they can't get my AC to fault after a week of having my truck. Personally, I think they don't want to do the TSB repair because it requires the entire dash to be removed!
I have 2019 2500 Cummins longorn I have same problem!!! Driver side is hotter and when I put it up to 65 it gets hot not cool. I have to put it all the way down to low for it to go back to cool air. Passenger side is colder then driver and you can tell big time! Did you figure anything out on how to fix it?
I have a 2021 ram rebel. I love my truck but one thing I hate it’s the fact that I have to admit the AC sucks! I noticed that right away I will suffer this summer here in Vegas!
Yes but there’s was nothing wrong. I have the etorque engine so every time I stop it turns off the ac also turns off I live in Las Vegas where it’s extremely hot 🥵 there’s a button I have to press for it not to turn off but still the ac it’s not the best.
I have the same issue been having a 2015 dodge ram 1500 had it 3 year's and started doing the same issues fixing to take it to the dealer and trade my truck for that issue.
recycle and fan low, moving down the road is coldest, check in town , sitting at lights etc,it will get hotter if the fans under the hood are not blowing enough, most cars you look for 48 50 degrees,,,,,,,,, yeah if fans inside on high they do like you said blows to fast to cool the air all the way
Got the samething on my 2020 Laramie 3500 took it to dealership they said it was low on Freon they fill it up but still not that much of a difference my 1500 gmc 2012 blows ice thru the vents
The new Ram has a much more efficient condenser . That holds a lot of Freon, most new vehicles only hold a lb at the most. My O3 civic held 2lbs 6oz, a new one holds only a lb. A lot of vehicles are now coming with R1234Y which is stupid expensive and not compatible with R134 machines at all. Fortunately you still have cheap R134
My 2014 Ram HD is plenty cold. You would think the engineers would get the gen AC temp right. Maybe a bean counter got in the way. I certainly wouldn't want a tech taking my dash apart and then dealing with squeaks and rattles afterward. Maybe I will get a Ford next time. But my last Ford sucked and the dealer sucked.
I have a new RAM as well. The passenger side was in the mid 40s, Driver side 51 degrees. I get exactly the same results as you. Put a clamp on the front heater hose and watch it go down to 43 degrees. My heater core is heating the air on the driver side A/C. It is very possible you are seeing the same issue..
My 2014 ram dually cummins is not as cold as my 2005 ram it sucks times in traffic it feels like warm air , had it serviced and everything was fine they said I even added an electric fan and that helps a bit but still not as cold as my 05
I would just run it. Some are colder than others. I had a 1994 Ram and it was ice cold for 22 years and never had a issue. My 03 chevy is ice cold. My 2017 chevy doesn't seem as cold but I don't sweat it.
My 2019 f250 blows 40 constantly. You should be able to turn on max ac then lower the speed down. Every truck I've ever driven has been able to do that. Give it a shot.
I'm thinking reason why its warmer on driver side is because that vent is between two big computer screens that are hot as hell and that poor vent has too push air next to them.
If you have an auto temp ac/heater system, then set the temp to what you want and leave it alone. It will automatically adjust itself to use max/low/whatever to get it to where it needs to be.
Dude learn how it works LOL Max A/C is the circulate which cools the inside air!! not the out side air which is why it gets cooler and is what you should have it on. If not the A/C has to cool the HOT outside air down to what it is set for.. As for it blows out to fast.. Turn down the blower/fan LOL it will still work as it should. But FYI keep all of you RO`s if you take it to the dealer for this or any issue. And check to make sure they close out the RO`s. So not to run them together as one. Which means if you take it in 20 times for the same issue it will only show one or two time for the same issue. Plus Dodge will only pay the dealer once maybe twice for the same diagnostics. IE mileage is not the same as it was the last time it was in, or the RO does not have a invoice number with an A or B or C on it. If it does that means its the next page on last RO which was left open on you. Because 4 times for the same issue is lemon law and they know this and will leave the RO`s open so it will show you`ve only been there 1 or 2 times. I just went through this with Ford
I put my truck on 68-74 degrees depending on when I get in it and then as it gets cold I adjust to the temp I want it to stay at. It uses max/whatever it needs to get the truck cooled down then it adjusts itself to what it needs to keep the temp regulated. Can't he just set the temp and let it do it's thing and see if it does it's job?
I might catch hell here but im willing to help you out .OLD SCHOOL ... Been charging ac for 30 years and I go by the beer can cold method and I just know my pressures . I've used those machines for years and I hate them. hook up the suction gauge and what's the back pressure at 2200 rpm? most cars should be around 18 -20 lb back . I bet you're BP is low Sir
I love my 2017 Ram 2500 6.7...but I've always felt like the a.c. could be colder and blow harder. Guess I figured with the size of the cabin or something it just doesn't quite cut it. I have a bunch of Camry and Rav4 Hybrids for my transportation company and they blow like 28 or 29 with the thermometer in the vent. I'll have to run some tests on the Ram now
I have an 09 Ram & been having problems with my a/c ever since. Been to the dealer 5 times since 09... it should read 40°... Their should've been a recall on the Rams a/c
Hi Eddie My 2017 2500 AC will get down to between 38 & 42 degrees out of the middle vent and I never run it on max air. Sum-Thin not rite Lucy!!!!!!!!!

That’s exactly the issue I’m having in my 2021 bighorn, it’s cold enough but I feel that it’s not blowing how it should.
You should take it to the dealer for the amount of money you paid should work better than that
I just got a Power Wagon 2021 and I’m having the same issue! Not cold enough which SUCKS BECAUSE I LOVE EVERYTHING ELSE.

My Nissan Frontier 2019 blows out 38 out of the vents. I live in south Florida. It freezes me out.
My 18’ cools the truck down almost instantly. I get comments on how fast it cool all the time.
Same here brother. I love my 18
You know what I think brother I think your pops got in your head about your A/C and now it’s bugging the hell out of you lol but idn I can be wrong I’d take it back to RAM dealer and have it checked
I've had two 2019s and my AC didn't get cold in either one
I struggled with the same issue going from a gm ac to ram ac.
no when i try to turn it down it goes back to regular AC
@@EddieLife3500 That's to bad. Ram must have changed how that function works in the 19's . I'd be interested to see the temp yours blows when it is in max ac mode and see if it gets below that 49dagrees. The air temp should be around 34-38 coming out of the vents on high. If you think about it the evaporator gets to freezing to be able to pull the moisture out of the air.
I have the same problem. I'm annoyed that my 2005 ford could freeze you out of the car. But my truck, can't keep me from sweating.
I traded my Ford F-150 that spoiled me with cold AC, now i bought a 2020 Laramie, tinted my windows to keep the sun heat out . It helped a little but it’s not the best AC specially for a new truck
Just a thought, but what if they are using that drivers vent/ duct work to cool down that big screen?
How is 48 in the 50 range 50 range is 50 to 59 not 40 that would be 40 range.
im really not sure what everyone is complaining about. 46-50 degree F on a 95 degree day sounds good to me. Mine is about the same.
Wassup loving the vids!!! Keep it up bro!
The electronics on your center stack probably hold more heat for your center vents and that is probably why your outside vents are cooler.
Did you figure anything out on how to fix it?
ya there is no fix for it the problem is in the heater core, that is just the design that ram did for this truck
I have a 2021 ram rebel. I love my truck but one thing I hate it’s the fact that I have to admit the AC sucks! I noticed that right away I will suffer this summer here in Vegas!
Did you ever take it to the dealer?
Yes but there’s was nothing wrong. I have the etorque engine so every time I stop it turns off the ac also turns off I live in Las Vegas where it’s extremely hot 🥵 there’s a button I have to press for it not to turn off but still the ac it’s not the best.
Do you think the 2022 jeep wagoneer has the same ac fault? Its the same engine
I have the same issue been having a 2015 dodge ram 1500 had it 3 year's and started doing the same issues fixing to take it to the dealer and trade my truck for that issue.
recycle and fan low, moving down the road is coldest, check in town , sitting at lights etc,it will get hotter if the fans under the hood are not blowing enough, most cars you look for 48 50 degrees,,,,,,,,, yeah if fans inside on high they do like you said blows to fast to cool the air all the way
My 19 Rebel seems to do pretty well and I’m in Dallas
My 09 Ford seems like it blows a lot colder but it’s a single cab
🤷♂️
Got the samething on my 2020 Laramie 3500 took it to dealership they said it was low on Freon they fill it up but still not that much of a difference my 1500 gmc 2012 blows ice thru the vents
97 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 ext cab 39 degrees on 90 degree day
The new Ram has a much more efficient condenser .
It is very possible you are seeing the same issue..
i am honestly good in mine i know its only 50 but i am still comfortable in there
My 2014 ram dually cummins is not as cold as my 2005 ram it sucks times in traffic it feels like warm air , had it serviced and everything was fine they said I even added an electric fan and that helps a bit but still not as cold as my 05
I would just run it.
Give it a shot.
i did when on max AC it stays at max fan speed
I don't know about the new Rams, but most new vehicles are using variable displacement A/C compressors to get better fuel mileage
I'm thinking reason why its warmer on driver side is because that vent is between two big computer screens that are hot as hell and that poor vent has too push air next to them.
I have a 2019 ram 1500 and the ac isn't great. Gotta turn it up for awhile to really cool the cabin then bout halfway to maintain.
If you have an auto temp ac/heater system, then set the temp to what you want and leave it alone. It will automatically adjust itself to use max/low/whatever to get it to where it needs to be.
Your Denali didn’t have vents for the backseat, and your Ram does, would that make a difference?
Possibly try adding More? Maybe they miscalculated the amount that needs to be put in?
JohnDeere50d I wouldn’t recommend beaver if you put to much the ac line could blow up.
Could be something with climate control for driver and passenger system ...?
Eddy do you think is better buy my ram with no sunroof ??
I'll have to run some tests on the Ram now
Made in Mexico? They are doing the same as Gm for their trucks; since it cost less to make trucks in other country. They are making them cheap
Eddie- efrain Im having a problem with the ac!
Efrain- hold on I’m thinking, 2020 and you have problems with the fuckin ac ?
😂😂hell Yeah haha efrain
I have an 09 Ram & been having problems with my a/c ever since. Been to the dealer 5 times since 09... it should read 40°... Their should've been a recall on the Rams a/c
Mine does exactly the same thing. Clamp your heater hose closed and watch it go down like the passenger side.
What's your dual climate control set at? Are they both the same?
yes both set to low
Hi Eddie My 2017 2500 AC will get down to between 38 & 42 degrees out of the middle vent and I never run it on max air. Sum-Thin not rite Lucy!!!!!!!!!
Yeah I have a 2018 ram 2500 and the A/C isn't that cold either.. I dont know why.
That truck would look good next to white scatpack.😎💪👍..
