    I trained all of my curls to go in one direction by sleeping in pin curls at night. It makes it stay neater and less frizzy between washes, and you can regroup the clumps bigger or smaller whenever you want because they're all going the same way!

    Through much trial and error, as a 2 b wavy girl, I discovered pin curls. I don’t have time to refresh my hair every morning as my hair takes forever to dry. Hours. And it is short. I discovered if I make big pin curls at night exactly how you do it except using 1 finger because my hair is short, using gel, and wrap in my husband’s t shirt, the curls are almost dry in the morning. I take out the pin curls and let them air dry more if needed. Then I separate the clumps into smaller clumps till I am happy with the look. I ‘scrub’ my scalp with my fingers to even out my roots and generously hairspray. I finally love my curls. I can refresh like this for a week. Even though my hair is thick I get by with 12-15 pin curls so I can do it in 10 minutes as opposed to 2 hours in the morning. Sorry for the long post, but I haven’t seen anyone else doing what I do and I have scoured the internet looking for ideas. I just accidentally happened on this because I was ready to give up on curls. Now I love my curls!

    Hey michelle, thanks for this detailed videos. Infact thanks for all the descriptive curly hair videos. They are very much useful.
    Can you pls guide me here, my hair is wavy but thin. Also feels heavy/oily with stylers. If I use leave in hair is instantly oily no matter less amount I use. And if I dont use a leave in and directly apply gel then hair feels dry, frizzy no definition. There are a few clumps but not defined.
    What to do in this situation?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  4 роки тому

      Thank you Shivie!!!
      Are you very early in your cgm journey? Like month 1 or 2? I remember my hair being super oily and heavy initially on CGM. I used to have massive migraines that were very difficult to deal with. With time my hair adjusted. Luckily in the Indian market we have options for leave ins that are very light as well as leave in that's are very heavy.
      I would say check out the kumuda conditioner (protein) by just herbs or the yellow leave in conditioner by fix my curls(protein) or the argan oil conditioner by wow(not as light but your only semi light moisture option). All 3 are relatively light and won't make your heavy feel oily or heavy if you use a small amount mixed in with water.
      For definition I would say Denman brush or a wide tooth comb with upright styling all the way. For volume I would say try upside down styling.
      Could you tell me if you have low porosity hair? If you do, then use a heat cap and deep condition with a heavy hair mask. Wash off thoroughly with warm water and style without leave in and see if that works for you.
      Please clarify asap and more regularly since your hair probably has a propensity to get build up.
      In essence, experiment experiment experiment! But I promise your scalp and hair will reset with time.

      Have been using FMC leave in but my hair doesn't seem to like it even a bit. No mater i increase or decrease the amount it will make my hair oily and lifeless wjich later leads to frizz.

    Hello, your video made me realize that my hair is naturally wavy 2b. I used to watch all the videos that help a girl straighten her hair, but after stumbling up on yours, it shook me that I was so late to realize the natural texture of my hair. I just had a doubt regarding clump training. I have very thin clumps and that too I have many of them. How do I refresh my clumps in this case? It just takes a lot of time to pin curl them and make it into a huge clump. My curls are so limp too. Also I had just started CGM and I have low volume in my hair. I have tried upside down styling, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Hoping you would reply! keep inspiring!!

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Celina! Please don't try this on your entire head. It will take an eternity. This is a very superficial technique that I use when I want to refresh but I only have 5 mins to get the job done and don't have time to dry my hair.
      If you're looking for thicker clumps have a look at my latest video. I style upright. The tool that you use will determine your clump size. Failing which, you can try the bowl method. It will give you the thickest clumps possible. You'll find many videos on youtube.
      Also I want to thank you for sharing your journey. It brought me so much joy! ❤️

      I'm team no refresh also team upright styling so I never have an issue with my clumps being stringy. Only when I started using different styling techniques with the Denman brush and upside styling, I noticed my clumps went for a toss. That is when I decided to pin curl my hair as a restorative measure. So to answer your question, not often at all. I only do this when my clumps are in horrible shape and desperately need the help.

My curl clumps form naturally and I’ve been trying to separate them because it’s getting out of hand. I also don’t have any curls at my roots 💀 it’s just my roots directly into a big curl clump.
