Have you tried allowing the kids to do something, quietly, while you read aloud to all of them? For example: build with Legos or Magnatiles, color/draw, put together a puzzle, play with putty/PlayDoh, dress dolls/fix their hair? I've found that kids do MUCH BETTER listening during read aloud time if they are able to DO SOMETHING.
