Also, I have an uplink which is awesome when thrown just a little nose up to counter the turn. Maybe this disc would let me throw just a little flatter. Cool video. Not talked about enough!
My Tursas is the oldest disc in my bag! In my opinion, it's also the most underrated "get out of tree jail" roller disc. I've absolutely parked more than a few 150 foot scramble shots from out of the woods. I don't throw it in open air often, but it's "East Texas Scramble" potential makes it a staple in my bag!
I'll always carry a couple "side pocket" discs for things like forehand rollers out of the woods... doesn't happen often, but they're great to have when the time comes around 😅
Great title! I love a disc that's just smooth and tough to throw a bad shot with. Others ive tried that were like this were the River, Innova's Mirage, MVP uplink and my go to driver, the Sidewinder.
@@ArmoryDiscGolf here I am. I cannot figure out the river. Least consistent disc I own. Throw nose up and it's super over stable. Nose down and it turns and burns. I just can't trust it for some reason.

The Discraft Archer is one that a lot of locals here love, which is really interesting to me bc I don't see too many people talk about it online. I need to try it
I throw a midnight prowl which is a little less stable than an origin maybe- so similar to a Tursis? I do also have a Tursis though on my shelf and I may need to cycle it back in. I definitely like having a disc like this in the bag. Another place I use it is a throw where I'd using a more stable mid (Buzz, Hex etc.) but have to do a standstill. Get about the same distance with the extra turn.
The standstill tech is a good idea. One of the pros of the Tursas for me is that it feels better when you want to fan grip and just pop your wrist, but the Origin feels better to me with a full on power grip 🤷
I have a L64 Fuse and DM Origin for my understable shots. Fuse purely backhand hyzerflips, Origin for forehands and backhands that I want to fight out more than the Fuse will.
I used to throw the Lobster. Great disc but more flippy than what I want. Then I got the Mana. Seems similar to your Tursas. Very reliable and it's a staple in my bag.
We're the Lobster and Mana in the same plastic? This Sublime Lobster I have is a bit more stable than my Apex, but I've wanted to try the glow Mana in that slot too
I switched to the Origin for about 2 months and I found that the Tursus just comes out of my hand cleaner and is overall more predictable in its flight. I felt like I couldn't power up on the Origin without burning it over where the Tursus I can throw soft or if I need to I can juice it a little....and it glides for days! That was the original reason I switched it out of the bag, it goes too far.
Yeah, the Tursas has that "frisbee" status where you can just flick your wrist and it'll float straight through the air. Can be good or bad, but it's a lot of fun to throw

Interesting, this one was understable but definitely still workable. I think the Tournament Orbit has been more stable than Opto in most people's experience but I've never thrown the Opto myself
Yeah, the Fuse is a touch more stable. But it's probably very close to this Tournament Orbit plastic, which from what I gather is a bit more stable than other runs of Tursas

I respect Roc throwers, but hate the way that disc feels in my hand for some reason 🤷♂️ I can definitely see the resemblance, though. If you're ok with a "beadless Roc", I'd give it my recommendation for sure
I think you just found out why there are relatively few understable midrange options. Most of us prefer the same feel so we can trust the release, but with a beat up version, we know it’s going right on a backhand.

@chupacabra8821 no... the "ss" stands for super straight, and it is slightly less stable than the already fairly straight Buzzz. Holds anny all the way to the ground. I believe the flight #s for the 2 discs are identical.
