The previous drummer Shiyu was great ,but Shoto sings also to his insane drumming. Shoto fits better to a 3 piece band(see it in the cover version of Maximum the Hormone's A.L.I.E.N. )

Wow, excellent analysis Tony! Great selection of your patreonist too. Metalin is from their 2017 self-titled album (a 7-song EP containing Sayonara Blue, probably one of my favorites, Sokoninaru can be catchy too). Thank you for giving exposure to this fantastic band, their talent deserves it.
Sokoninaru have become my favourite reactions on your channel. I always think of this as a slightly simpler early song, but it's plenty crazy enough. I'm not really qualified to rank their three drummers, but I cannot believe how easy they find it to replace such talent. Not sure whether you're interested in hearing them doing a really stripped back radio-friendly song, but if so you could try "White For".

Favorite song by these guys. Its not even close. I have never looked up english translation on the lyrics, and i may never do so. But something about her voice tone with the chorus just gives me chills.
Not sure if you knew, but this was the first of 3 drummers. He was there for a few albums, then was replaced with the drummer you heard on your first reaction. He was with the group until 2021 when he left to pursue other musical projects. The second drummer, Shiyu, is still very friendly with the group and does the video recording for all of the group videos with the current drummer when they do their monthly cover songs. They even have a drum battle with the new and 2nd drummer. Great stuff.

You can see the influence of "Maximum the hormone" in these younger bands. Akane became a rock drummer instead of a trombonist because of their drummer. And they are the original Japanese playful terrorist band.
More of them discovering their own sound as they broke away from being a cover band. They had some pretty massive style swings with the first 3 albums till it settled on what they have become known for.

Just a circus act IMHO. Being able to integrate musically with other artists with the necessary musicality and humility is what these guys and Akane etc have.

I've always thought of Metallin as a meme-like response to people who dislike the style of Sokoninaru.
