This song is the 3rd phase of a boss fight in Hades, it is based on the song you hear during the two previous phases, called "God of the Dead". Massive difficulty spike and hardest fight in the game, hence it being over the top
Hearing this for the first time in-game was unreal. One of my favourite moments in gaming. I love any multi-phase fight where the music gets more and more bombastic as you go
@@aBlackMage is this if you use the pact of punishment for the hades bossfight? I have about 100 hours in this game and I swear I've never heard this 😂
No better time to get into it and take your time to play through it and enjoy it. Hades II got announced a while ago, no release date yet. Just an awesome announcement trailer.
This song is actually like an addition to the base song which is "God Of Dead", basically adding those two amazing guitarists on top of it. I also highly recommend the song "Scourge Of The Furies" which I think is one of the best songs in the game.
Hades is great. It's *dangerously* good. A++ voice acting, music, art, gameplay design, characters, systems, writing... it's incredible. If you're at all prone to getting way too into a game, it's genuinely dangerous.
Hades is literally one of the most flawless games I've ever played. Despite saying it's "near perfect" I can't say it's my favorite game ever because the overall concept of a roguelike isn't my favorite game mechanic, but it's just objectively so damn polished it's unreal. Doesn't hurt that it's only 25 bucks either!
the $25 price tag makes this one of those games you have to at least try. felt comfortable buying it because of the price despite my budget and ended up spending 240+ hours and still playing to literally tonight
I exhausted pretty much everything you can do in Hades, and I have yet to find another rougelite game I can even stand playing, it almost feels like it’s not even the same genre because they’re usually so anti-fun. It made me want to give that genre a shot again in case I was just unlucky and, like, nope, they’re pretty much all a drag, Hades was something special
Hades is hands down one of my FAVORITE OST's from any game ever. Darren Korb is an absolute savant. If you love roguelikes and uniqueness of builds/powers/weapons/etc, Hades is a must play
Starting with a bang, there's a lot of great stuff in the OST and most of them come with a good deal of build-up before exploding, as they're meant to play over levels > fights and then boss tracks. Fun fact, the composer is the voice actor of the main character and he does a tremendous job.
Hades is genuinely one of the only games I would recommend to everyone. So that includes you! Just be aware that actually hearing this song in-game is pretty hard. It plays exclusively during the unlockable hard mode version version of the final boss, and only in phase 3. That phase is really difficult and intense, which is why this piece of music couldn't be more fitting.
My first exposure to Hades was a Let's Play channel that played it when it first released. I saw maybe 2-3 minutes and immediately shut it off because I had to play it myself. Have now beatin through the storyline multiple times on both Switch and PS5 and it's incredible every time. Such a well made game and amazing soundtrack.
Good news! Since you like yorushika and I've been waiting for another yorushika reaction, the anime Frieren new song will be from yorushika. I know you love the Frieren ost so I'm hoping you to check it out. The song is already out in Spotify but I don't think it's out on their official youtube channel.
This game as a whole package and ALSO as an ost is such an insane legendary masterpiece, that yeah, everybody should be checking it out. Even the narrative and the story has immense value. Definitely one of the top games of all time. I really do suggest doing the whole OST as far as reactions go. Its easily an exception to the rule that is worth it ! I hope you do it one day.
I love how much they tried to stay with the lore without going overboard or altering it too much. The gameplay has a satisfying loop. I am a person that doesnt like playing things more than once and i have cleared the game over 70 times and still will play it more. Each time i go through i can have a new conversation as i havent unlocked all the dialouge for each god yet.
As expected of Masahiro Aoki and Daisuke Kurosawa, they're amazing guitarists! Listened to some of their other works together and enjoyed those as well.
The game and the music are an absolute gem. Just one of those standouts where you know that most other things that come out will struggle to come close for years, in terms out of how much passion and skill went into it.
Finally. I've been waiting for this for a year. Thank you JetMan for suggestion and Tony for a reaction and breakdown! I'll gladly wait for more Hades reaction content since there are a lot of bangers, such as "In the blood", "God of the Dead" (first two parts of "The Unseen Ones"), "Good Riddance" (Eurydice Solo ft. Ashley Barrett), and basically the whole OST!
Respect to Jetman for suggesting the game's ost. It is fantastic! That being said, starting with this song makes maybe the least amount of sense. Imagine if EVH's eruption was part of a two disc album that was a rock opera meant to be listened all together akin to one of the pink floyd albums and you just start with it. Sure it is still good but you don't really appreciate it beyond the SHREDZZZ because you aren't recognizing the exploration of the previous motifs
Alright, Hades means Darren Korb. I hope you give a listen to "God of the Dead" and then this one, back to back, since that's how it comes up in game anyway, and it gives a lot of context to the guitar barrage in the start of this piece.
I think i already recommended this song from Hades in the previous videos. Good to see you reaction, but dont worry... Hades have more content to explore. Next track: "In the Blood".
The entire Hades soundtrack is a masterpiece, imo. And we got Hades II on the way..... and somehow, that has to at LEAST be just as good. I mean, I'm sure it will be. But idk if it can top it. Either way, I'm super hyped for both the game itself and the soundtrack.
Dang, the first two parts of this song really shoulda been listened to first. Because the first song sounds like a good 'theme'. And it's played during the final boss fight. Then they play a boss fight version of the song and it feels complete. This is the 'secret' third version of the boss fight song which they 100% jumpscare you with where after beating him twice, he goes 'No, I'm not done yet!' and pulls out all the stops, fighting like the final boss he needs to be.
Guitar shredding never stopped being cool. People just forget how awesome it can be because there's a lot of uninspiring shredders out there who haven't found their "voice" yet. These two definitily know what's up.
Supergiant Games is a tiny little development company that has put out 4 amazing games, all of which look great, sound amazing and play completely different. Hades is their most popular game (and the first to get a sequel) but they're all great in different ways and their music is all amazing. Done primarily by the wonderful Darren Korb and the love Ashley Barret, I highly recommend checking out their other work.
Hades is fun. You should definitely play it. Just a heads up, you might end up dying a LOT because you'll be distracted by how awesome the soundtrack is wherever you go. XD I had moments playing I just wanted to headbang. Kinda hard to do while trying to survive, though lol.
Only problem with this song is that the way it is paced and only in the 3rd phase, you will get to hear the first quarter of it tops which is a massive shame.
I do wish I liked the gameplay of Hades more cause everything else about it was so appealing. Just wasn't my cup of tea though. Little surprised there hasn't been any MGS music/songs or Deep Rock Galactic videos yet. Or maybe here are and I just missed them. I must look deeper.
