Please give Evan a break. It’s Christmas week. He deserves a break. Just like we all do. There are plenty of videos to look at on his channels. Merry Christmas Evan and Rebekah. Enjoy your Christmas. 🎅☃️❄️🦌🎁🎄
Unless your using it for something else, use your binding twine you cut from the bails as fire starters. My Dad would do that by wrapping it up as logs and wrapping the ends around the middle
For some time now, this has been one of my favorite channels. The videos keep getting better, the content constantly changes and is very entertaining. Here is wishing you and your wife and family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Please don't feel stressed about putting out videos.....give yourself a rest ....mental rests are important. Hope you and your family have a great holiday....stuff yourself....enjoy each others company and relax. Thanks for all you do.
Relax and enjoy wha this Christmas season is all about. We enjoy your posts, but don’t sacrifice your family time. We’ll still be here! Keeping a farm neat and tidy is an impossible task as there is always one more thing to do before clean up! (Especially with animals to care for first). Have a blessed Christmas you and Rebekah!
Hey Evan and Rebecca, thanks for all the great videos this year. It's been a pleasure getting to know such a lovely couple who work so well as a team! Best wishes for a holy Christmas and yet another successful new year from Melbourne, Australia. 🇦🇺
Evan's not pulling any nails...he'll probably "pull" them out of the bottom of his burn barrel with a magnet. Put them under your hydrangeas for beautiful deep-blue blossoms!
Hi... Evan and Rebecca Happy Christmas ⛄🎄 to you both and all your family to enjoy your day and your Christmas thanks you for showing your video homestead 🎄🏡🐔🐓🐣🐥🐤🦃🐑🐄🐖🐷🐝🦢🦆🎣🎏🐠🐟🎥👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍
LOL!!! "spent all day yesterday with Rebekah's family". A statement quickly followed by "today is a much nicer day". I don't think it was your intention, but I got a good laugh! Merry Christmas!!
Why don’t you shorten the sliding door 6” and not have to cut above the door? You can put your 8” header across both the open and right spans, cut out your 6” strip to the right, and screw the right-hand end of the standing rib metal into it.
Great video as always. A little tip for your burn barrel. Drill some 1 inch holes about 6-8 inches up from the bottom all the way around it. It should draw air in pushing the smoke up, and you will be able to light it from the bottom. Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas.
On your barn door can you get your tractors facing the barn maybe the one with the forks on it in the door opening and the one with the bucket on the metal siding and make yourself a scaffolding between the two of them. That way you can use your ladder once to get up to the scaffolding
Merry Christmas Evan & Rebecca & family! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication making and posting great videos for all of us to enjoy! God’s blessings to you and yours!
Hi Evan - Something that is super cheap and works well to keep the bottom of a barn door from swinging out from cows pushing or even wind blowing on it is to drive a couple pieces of 1/2" dia. Rebar or 1/2" to 1" metal pipe into the ground. Drive them into the ground with about 6" sticking up to hold the bottom of the barn door to keep the door from swinging out and also to keep the doors upper track from being damaged. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all here ! 🎄🎁✨🎉🎊
(You're) welcome to becoming a U-toob star. You're also "welcome" to the attendant hassles, like "whatabout" this (or that....). Always enjoy your videos. Been a while since Rebecca was aboard. Her rapport with the animals is touching. Frankly, I'm surprised she lets you EAT any of 'em...but then, I suppose that's the whole point.....
Suggestion for cutting your metal on your barn that is cheap and easy, turn your saw blade around backwards on a circular saw. It’s fast and clean edge. I know it sounds crazy, but try it on a scrap piece and see. It works!
You might consider hanging the barn door on the inside of building. It has worked well for me and was a lot easier than cutting the siding. I would be glad to send you pics. Enjoy your channel. Happy New Year.
Looking forward to seeing how you attack that sliding door project, depending on how heavy it is you may want to at least reinforce that header. Thanks for the video!
Merry Christmas, you need a break every now and then. Enjoy. Hey, when you were working for someone else you accumulated vacation days. You will just have to make your own days off. We are just spoiled by your quick and continuous videos.😅
Good work on the gate removal and board replacement, looks nice. I want to wish you, Rebekah and all your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
for cutting out that steel for your door, I would use a skil saw with a metal blade, first screw in a temporary board to the building, that way you not only have a straight edge, but also can control the depth of the saw blade, hope that helps, maybe get some scafolding too. Better yet, make some for the forks on your tractor, best thing ever, I have a 16' one for my loader that folds on each side, so that the main platform is 8'
The way the inside of the building starting to look like a hoader lives there. I own a Paslod framer and the brad nailer and both use a battery and tank. My framing nailer works when it feels like. The brad nailer never has any problem. So since I own Dewalt tools I bought the new framing nailer and it just uses the battery and so far it works perfectly. I already have the nails which are long enough to put 2 2x4 together and ring shank. On my fence in Florida the posts i cut them off with a chainsaw at an angle so the rain water doesn't soak in so easy.
Merry Christmas to you both. If the weather looks like being a little more comfortable then it would be good to get any pruning work you want done (bushes, shrubs, fruit trees, field boundaries etc) heap up the debris and leave it for a while 2-4 weeks and it will soon burn down to nothing when you do decide to burn it. By the way poke at least 4 - 6 good size holes near the base of your burn barrel. Easier to light and "stuff" burns more completely. Think about the nails when you decide to empty the barrel.
Merry Christmas to you and your family I saw you got a man lift cage for the forklift forks I have 2 of them one folds down kind and a solid bolted together one
Evan, regarding the sheet metal, you are going to find your nibbler is going to have a tough time with the ribs in your sheet metal sheets. The easy way to cut the sheets is to take your circular saw and turn the blade backwards. That will allow you to rip through the ribs and rest of the sheet with no problem. I hope this message gets to you soon enough to save you a lot of headaches.
Looking forward to seeing the D17 going. They are a lot of work after decades of neglect but it will be there when you can’t get on it anymore. Watching. Hopefully not judging. Haha.
You are going to find that a nibbler only works parallel to the ribs, not very good across them. I would highly suggest a cutting wheel on an angle grinder before you loosen up the steel. Just works better if they are solid in place while grinding on them.
Evan, pallets are often sprayed with insecticide. You may not want to heat it with pesticide-treated wood. The pallets should be marked; please check them.
Merry Christmas to Evan, Rebekah and families and to all the viewers from a warm and wet South Africa. I pray that 2025 will be a blessing to you all. God bless.
How about a cheat for your barn door header? Cut the tin to 8" and slip a 2x8 on the outside for your track mount. It may not be Kosher but should give a bit more support when tied to the poles on the inside... Happy Christmas to you and yours! Love the channel.
We drilled holes in the bottom of our burn barrel (so it doesn't collect rain), but I have good luck luck lighting my barrel from the bottom through the hole with my torch. FWIW
Merry Christmas! Take your time during the Holidays. Make your plans for next year. Be interesting to see how much port you got and what you plan to do with the hams and bacon. If you plan on cutting the siding maybe work off the bucket with the little lady on the tractor or set up a plank. Your young but you don't want to be working off a ladder.
you might consider putting 2 gates on your new fence line feeder giving more room to put hay in and clean it out maybe even put the feed panels on hinges to make cleaning easier? 2 or even 3 of the gate latches would probably support the outer end!! are you going to put a gate/s at the barn door it would make it easier to crowd into the loading alley? have you considered just hammering down the ridges on the tin rather than cutting it out you will definitely need a shield - Z trim to keep moisture away from it. it is the 24th (early morning) as i watch this and we are working on craft orders for our shop . even got some stain glass cross orders today!! but are planning to take the rest of the week off !!! have a great holiday and have fun
Great video .Merry Christmas to you both . Just a note the nibbler will not work very good on ribbed metal .Your best and easiest way to cut metal siding is to install a blade backwards on your skill saw . this works very well and will make short work of that job .
Merry Christmas to all who sees this
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas
Please give Evan a break. It’s Christmas week. He deserves a break. Just like we all do. There are plenty of videos to look at on his channels. Merry Christmas Evan and Rebekah. Enjoy your Christmas. 🎅☃️❄️🦌🎁🎄
Once those tubs are empty they can make great use as kindling holders .
Wishing both you and Rebecca a very Merry Christmas and a great new year. Always enjoy the videos
Unless your using it for something else, use your binding twine you cut from the bails as fire starters. My Dad would do that by wrapping it up as logs and wrapping the ends around the middle

Yes. Holidays are already busy enough.
Relax and enjoy wha this Christmas season is all about. We enjoy your posts, but don’t sacrifice your family time. We’ll still be here! Hey Evan and Rebecca, thanks for all the great videos this year. It's been a pleasure getting to know such a lovely couple who work so well as a team! Best wishes for a holy Christmas and yet another successful new year from Melbourne, Australia. 🇦🇺
Merry Christmas! Evan and Rebecca ... Don't forget to add your livestock panel where you removed the gate.
Hi Evan, a little tip from a carpenter .... when pulling nails, put a small block under the head of the hammer to increase the leverage 👍👍
Here's another .....buy a pallet buster (hand-held leverage multiplier specifically for dismantling pallets) Temu has 'em. (among others)
Evan's not pulling any nails...he'll probably "pull" them out of the bottom of his burn barrel with a magnet. Put them under your hydrangeas for beautiful deep-blue blossoms!
Put holes bottom sides of barrel for draft..
Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy New Year 🥳 and all the best in 2025 Evan and Rebekah
Winter is always a slow outdoor time, also it’s the Holidays , it’s all good Enjoy a break.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Just so you know, some of us like watching the daily routine. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Great video as always.

Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas.
I was trying to see if there were holes at the bottom. Good tip.😊

Milwaukee chain saw would be very handy for you also..they work great
Nice looking framing nailer Evan
Merry Christmas Evan and Rebekah. Enjoy the holidays.
Evan, be cautious of pallet wood. HT labeled is ok, but some pallets are treated with chemicals. Merry Christmas to you and Rebecca.
Suggestion for cutting your metal on your barn that is cheap and easy, turn your saw blade around backwards on a circular saw. It’s fast and clean edge. I know it sounds crazy, but try it on a scrap piece and see. It works!
It is true, it is the simplest and best solution I have tried. In an emergency, you can also use the chainsaw with the chain on backwards.🙂
You might consider hanging the barn door on the inside of building. It has worked well for me and was a lot easier than cutting the siding. I would be glad to send you pics. Enjoy your channel. Happy New Year.

Those boot scrubbers are great to have on the homestead! Merry Christmas to you both! 🎅🎄🎁⛄

Christmas🎅❤️💚
And Happy New Year🎉😄
Watch your vid on my television last night, not hooked up for UA-cam
Merry Christmas to your family. Great job in changing/remodeling your plans.
Make a small opening at the bottom side of your drum so that will bring some air in to keep your fire going..
Good work on the gate removal and board replacement, looks nice. I want to wish you, Rebekah and all your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I dunno if I'd go as far as hoarder. My wife is a hoarder, that place looks clean compared to my living room.
Merry Christmas to you both.

Alot of pollution with big bales. Enjoyed your video Evan have a great day.

Great video mate hope you are doing well and happy Xmas
Looking forward to seeing the D17 going. They are a lot of work after decades of neglect but it will be there when you can’t get on it anymore. Watching. Hopefully not judging. Haha.
It's 22 degrees and 6 inches of snow here at my home stead. Merry Christmas.

You can nibble the up and down parts at the ends but the horizontal across the ribs are a mess.
Merry Christmas and new year Keith and Lyn 👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Merry Christmas Evan
You could use those pallets to keep the firewood off of the ground
I still miss that turkey that used to follow you around.
Evan, pallets are often sprayed with insecticide. You may not want to heat it with pesticide-treated wood. The pallets should be marked; please check them.
Thx - Merry Christmas
Can’t beat that framing nailer, saves the wrists and elbows.. Now you need a palm nailer, works in tighter places
Great year watching your videos. Merry Christmas to you all and hope to see you at the Farm Machinery Show in Louisville in February.
Merry Christmas to Evan, Rebekah and families and to all the viewers from a warm and wet South Africa. I pray that 2025 will be a blessing to you all.
God bless.
Wishing you both a very merry Christmas and a Happy New year. Best wishes from Scotland colin
Merry Christmas Evan and Rebecca! 🎄⛄️❄️

Thank you for the update. As the old saying goes: "The best made plans of mice and men." Merry Christmas
Careful with burning those pallets. Some are treated with chemicals.
drill few good size holes at the bottom of the barell-get more air to the wood
Hay guys have a merry Christmas to you and all of your family from steve c from the state of Oregon USA
Instead using ladder for cutting sheet metal above door . Use your tractor with pallet on the forks. This gives you bigger area to stand on
We light our burn barrel with my wife’s Amazon box’s lol! And we drilled holes in ours…just a thought:)
19:18 Looks like that gate is a little heavy for that fence pole… it might need some more bracing..
We drilled holes in the bottom of our burn barrel (so it doesn't collect rain), but I have good luck luck lighting my barrel from the bottom through the hole with my torch. FWIW
Great video Evan and Rebekah

And I thought the most useful addition to the farm was an ambitious wife! Who would have thought. Merry Christmas and a Safe New Years everyone.
You need to take a break sometimes but we did notice a few less videos so it must mean we love watching your vidios😍
Great video .Merry Christmas to you both . Just a note the nibbler will not work very good on ribbed metal .Your best and easiest way to cut metal siding is to install a blade backwards on your skill saw . this works very well and will make short work of that job .
