If the plaintiff was so mortified and embarrassed about the particulars of her case, perhaps she shouldn't have come on national television to have it litigated. I'm not sure how she thought she could come in and sue for thousands of dollars with zero questions asked.

      You are homeless.
You are suing for boarding animals.
You are suing for NOT being able to board yourself.
Also, she couldn't go to work THE NEXT DAY even though she had THE RENTAL CAR STILL?!
She didn't want to answer those questions.

The Defendant offered to give a full refund to the Plaintiff when she came to her JOB and threw the court papers in her face---but seeing that the Defendant was in a better position financially, Plaintiff decided to steamroll Defendant to not just get the car refund, but maximize her payday.
JM didn't ask THE question I was waiting for:
"Plaintiff, if you are asking for monies you paid for boarding your animals and rental car to the tune of over $1K,where did THAT money come from and why couldn't you drive to the new job??"
Plaintiff is not so debilitated mentally that she couldn't garner sympathy from her co-worker/witness, the potential job who approved the letter on her behalf, all the paperwork for the car she BELIEVED validated her claim, filling a police report, taking the Defendant to court AND her final argument with the intimidating JM.

    Rule of thumb -
1.) when buying used - have it checked by a mechanic BEFORE you sign/buy. If they rush you or pressure you DO NOT buy it.
2.) as is means as is. It’s up to YOU as the buyer to inspect the car. Once you pay for the car, it’s all on you.
3.) if the seller claims the car has no issues, is running great, etc. get that in writing

    • @cagada

@@cagadaif the product is being advertised in a better condition than it actually is, and you buy it under the assumption that the seller was being truthful but lied you may have a case. Plaintiffs have gotten their money back because of false advertising. But at the same time it is up to the buyer to check the product before hand to ensure that it is working properly. It’s really a case by case scenario, but in general used items are sold as is unless otherwise specified by a warranty or return policy.

I'm like, you need a home but can't get one because everyone says you have too many pets, and you get another pet. Struggling financially and keep getting more pets doesn't make any sense to me. you wind up on the streets if the marriage doesn't last.

If she was married then she should get half in the divorce. We obviously don't know for sure but I would venture that it was down to a bad decision on her part that she ended up homeless. Just from this case we can see that she made at least three major bad decisions.

@stephenbanks5952 Years ago, on Oprah, the segment was about a woman who married a wealthy man, lived in a nice house, and had fresh flowers delivered to her house twice a week. He handled ALL the money.
She was clueless. He divorced her, and she ended up living in a women's shelter. I forget why, at the time, she wasn't receiving alimony.

My heart goes out about wanting to take care of your pets before yourself, I’ve been there. I’ve been broke eating like a pauper while my dog is well fed and taken care of, BUT I also didn’t get more and more animals! Idk what scenario she was in before, but too many people get lots of pets for that “unconditional” love when they can’t honestly handle it. People often think too short term when having a pet. A friend adopted a few cats and I asked her while she was going through financial difficulties if she should be doing that and she acted like it was fine. A couple years later she’s mourning the idea of giving them up because she couldn’t afford them and she felt bad abandoning them and I said, “Good. You should feel bad. You shouldn’t have adopted them in the first place.” I love animals so much, and I think more people should treat them with the same respect of a human in your care, but in the same vein be freaking realistic.

You have to pay for the inspection, pass or fail. The reason that she does not have a field inspection report is because she did not pay for the failed inspection.
And yes, the defendant was offering to take the car to a garage where she believed they were going to just pass the car without inspecting it. But I think that the plaintiff was more out to get money from the defendant as opposed to actually getting a drivable car.

That is neglect and animal services should take them away from her. You are plain wrong and plain stupid.
