Been racking my brains over what's gone wrong with my 2013 YBR and this video has given me that motivation to go back out and try to work it out again. Though I think the best cure for my bike was to not buy it off Facebook!!
Pretty good practise there Simon. I would put a TDC mark onto the flywheel and a register for it also on the engine case. With a strobe light, off the battery and ignition lead, you can then absolutely ensure that your ignition timing is bang on into the future too, should you need to remove the flywheel again. Good stuff. !
I'm still panicking though. I crazily replaced everything power related - brand new: spark plug, CDI, ignition coil, kill switch and magneto rotor. Still no spark at all! The motor actually runs perfectly, but no start without power. Do you have any idea why this could be? And if you know, how do I go about it?
@SongsFromTheSaddle hi there I have ktm450sxf was good runner left for over a year and don't start no spark to it change battery spark plug and coil the fuses and still no spark do u recon it could be the stator plate ?
Not really. There are two phases - problem finding and problem solving. Sometimes you can find the problem but not solve it. Recent example - stuck at the side of the road with a dead bike - diagnose blocked fuel injector. Problem found. But how to fix it at the side of the road in the rain? Problem solving is a different matter.
Awesome video that will help many people. Thank you brother, you are a good man.

Trigger pick up magnet good luck it's right over the stator on all bikes
if one of the screws from the stator has been lost but replaced with a bolt would it still work?
I don't see why not

Where did you get the stator rewound? And how much did it cost
Cheers
I can't remember the firm that did it, but it cost £90
I have a question about Dr650 se
I've never owned a DR650, but the principles of electrics I discuss in this video apply to all bikes
2002 electra glide cranks no spark replaced coil still no fire
Будет ли поврежден компьютер, если он достигнет 12 В на розовом проводе, пожалуйста, ответьте на него
Я не думаю, что это будет
So was it a bad starter???
I had the stator rewound and that fixed it.
Is it okay to drive a motorcycle with no spark?
Yes. It burns less fuel that way
You might not go to fast
Came here. Checked petrol. Line was kinked. Started up straight away 🤦♂️
But the video is for no spark
Raining in the UK ? Can’t happen 😉

LOL, I thought he kept saying "beater" as in your "crappy run about". Till I read the notes... you mean your B-AAAAyyyyyy-TA
Only if you don't speak the King's English mate.

Norton motorcycle. Wanna buy one?
This video is about a Beta, not a Norton.
I know a guy that has Norton motorcycle. He lives east about six miles east of Muskegon, Michigan.
YOU'RE DOING THE SECONDARY TESTING ON THE COI----WRONG
No kidding the first thing you gotta do is diagnose the problem 🙄 if you do haven't you got it fixed???🙄
