Bob Boilen is one of the greatest curators of music on the face of the planet, and the team he has around him that document these artists are the best in the business. Tiny Desk Concerts have been the source of my favorite performances of many a song by artists that I love, and the start of many obsessions when I discover new artists. There are many other fantastic music series out there, Mahogony Sessions, Sideshow Alley, Sofar, Le HibOO to name a few off the top of my head, but in my mind Tiny Desk holds a special place alone.
Just moved to Granada, Spain, and saw that this guy is performing for free at the Museo Caja Granada tonight. Research led me to this video, and I am so excited now to see his show. I LOVE flamenco, and am fascinated by his modern, fresh take.
Viva Cai!
i had the luck of seeing a concert of this great artist in my town in seville, less than 30 assistants, open air, a great experience. i cant believe how underrated he is
Toured Spain many years ago. Great audiences, warm and generous, even if I thought we didn’t play great they still wanted 3 or 4 encores. Fascinating country, but I could never wrap my mind around flamenco, crazy stuff, in a good way.
"Let yourself be heard, don't be the puppet of what they expect from you, don't lose another day Maybe you will only have this day" Part of the lyrics from the first song which the correct name is Dejate Sentir.
What a great surprise! Lizana is such an incredible musician. And by the way, the first NPR Tiny Desk artist i've listened to him in a live concert. :D
I almost didn't watch because I thought it was going to be some BS musica jazz. But this performance is so pure, passionate, and precise. It is absolutely genius, even if it is foreign to your ears, it quickly becomes a mind trip, which you can feel even in the dulled down corners of your soul. Enjoy. Love . Peace.
Excellent idea to bring Antonio to the Tiny Desk, didn't know this video! Just one thing NPR people: the set list is wrong, the first tune he plays is "Déjate Sentir" and then "Airegría".
The tittles of the frist two songs are in a wrong order. The first one is “Déjate sentir” and the second one “Airegria”. Antonio Lizana is a great performer, composer and singer.
One of the most underrated acts on Tiny Desk so far....
I've seen him live with the quintet, it's sublime, a show like I've never seen before, the blend of jazz with flamenco, beautiful.
Tiny Desk Concerts never cease to amaze me at the quality and diversity of acts.

this is so complicated and so true to it's core elements

Excellent 50% mix. In his beginings he was more jazz oriented. Great change, he has duende voice.

Excellent idea to bring Antonio to the Tiny Desk, didn't know this video! Just one thing NPR people: the set list is wrong, the first tune he plays is "Déjate Sentir" and then "Airegría".

Buenísimo!!
Second ! But no joke they are pretty awesome!
This sums it all up: 5:51
Spyro gyra y flamenco, que artista
Precioso, Antonio eres un maestro. Larga vida en los escenarios. Búscate otro guitarra pero.
qué arte
instrumental music always sounds better than computer generated music, not to mention he's a great musician !!
The listing of the songs is incorrect. The first song is "Déjate Sentir", the second song is "Airegría" and the last song is "Viento De La Mar".
That makes sense, since the first song is a bulerias and the second one an alegrias, which I assume the title alludes to.
Genios!
ole........ bravo!!!
OMG!!!
Oleeeee viva la razaaaaaaaa
What would you call this style: "Flamenco Bop"?
Flamenco Jazz
Be Flam?
The tittles of the frist two songs are in a wrong order. The first one is “Déjate sentir” and the second one “Airegria”. Antonio Lizana is a great performer, composer and singer.
