You make me happy every time you choose DIRE STRAITS, my favourite band, when you also see Telegraph Road (Live At The Hammersmith Odeon, London, 1983) you will fly to music heaven. 🌺
Dire Straits were always great live, better than in the studio. I personally liked the live concerts “Alchemy”, live “Wembley 1985” and “Sydney 1986” better, because I thought the band line-up was just perfect back then and the concerts were very dynamic. Good response thanks
The year was 1990, silver clef award winners I was there most of the singers wore bright colours so they could be seen, cliff Richard wore a bright pink suit and Paul McCartney closed the show with hey jude
You probably were listening to it in the ukraine, Dire Straits took over the world during the 80s. Incredible band topped with an amazing final tour in 1991/2. The On Every Street tour. I got to see them live on that tour in 1992. It was otherworldly and in a class of its own. Mark Knopfler is a living legend and has written some of the greatest songs ever to be recorded. Virtuoso for sure. Excellent reaction. 😊
You might like to check out I Think I Love You Too Much, which was the other number Dire Straits performed at this concert. Mark and Eric trading solos on a fantastic blues number is truly special.
Loved your reaction to this one! The vibe of Dire Straits is unmatched. If your parents listened to this, then they were the coolest. And now you're listening to them because they're just as good now as they were back then!
Great reaction! Love watching you dance like no one's looking. Good for you! And what a band! John Illsley from Dire Straits on bass, Tessa Niles and Katie Kisson from Eric Clapton's touring band on vocals, Steve Ferrone on drums, Ray Cooper on percussion, Phil Palmer on rhythm guitar...wow! (I don't recognize the keyboardist.) Thanks Inna!
Alan Clark is the keyboard player with the beard and the shades. The other at the back to Ray Cooper's left is Guy Fletcher. Both were members of Dire Straits, with Clark joining a couple of years before Fletcher. Guy Fletcher has been part of Mark Knopfler's projects ever since as a member of The Notting Hillbillies and also Mark's solo band The 96ers. Mark and Guy performed Mark's entire soundtrack for The Princess Bride entirely on their own (with the exception of Willy DeVille's Oscar-nominated song Storybook Love). It was Guy who produced the new version of Going Home, the title track from Mark's Local Hero soundtrack, released earlier this year by "Mark Knopfler's Guitar Heroes" to raise money for teenage cancer charities. He did a remarkable job integrating contributions from over 60 musicians into a coherent whole.
You bring the cheerful fun with your reactions and I love that! Here are a couple of songs by Dire Straits to check out...Telegraph Road, Your Party, You and Your Friend!
Phil Palmer's no slouch either. Eric and his band performed before Dire Straits came on and during one number Eric broke a string. He turned round and said "Take it away Phil" then walked off to get his guitar restrung (or collect his backup) leaving Phil to improvise a solo, which being consummate professional he did effortlessly... even knowing Mark Knopfler and Eric were watching on from the side of the stage. No pressure! Phil subsequently joined Dire Straits for their final tour. I guess Mark liked his audition!
Grande band. A te che suoni la chitarra dovrebbe piacere il tocco fantastico di Mark Knopfler che ha reso indimenticabili molti brani dei Dire. Bella reaction
Just want to say that when I said during the stream that if you allowed me I could show you a whole world you're missing I wasn't talking about request. I was talking about journey. While I do think it would be cool to see you do a reaction to VNV Nation and other bands like them it wouldn't be necessary. You could just listen to them while you're doing other things in your day and just enjoy hearing something new. Another great reaction. Ciao
Dire Strait's is my favorite band from that era. Speaking of eras, unless they were the content of a hip-hop record, the lyrics would get the band canceled.
INNA - Thanks, myself and many others enjoy you and your videos for you putting a HAPPY time in our lives !! I Want My MTV (TV commercials for MTV) ua-cam.com/video/AGZSWdh17l0/v-deo.html "Money for Nothing (song)" 1985 has in wik_iped_ia a couple interviews where Mark Knopfler said that he wrote notes for the lyrics while in a store, watching the song's main character, a man working in an appliance TV store who was standing there watching the Music TV channel MTV on TVs in the store. The guy was throwing out a lot of comments and complained that these singers and bands get "Money for nothing and chicks for free" ... Sting (Gordon Sumner) got singing credit for his background vocal in this song "I want my MTV" which was a standard line in the MTV commercials. (Dave Strong)

One of the greatest guitarist of all time
You gotta be good for Eric Clapton to play rhythm for you ….two of the best guitarists on the planet …

Inna, so fun to watch you get into the music. If I can't hear it again for the first time, you sharing this with us is almost as good.

Thank you!
Definitely loved this in the 80s. It made everyone get up and dance.
EC is Mark Knopfler's best buddy!!
Mark Knopler and Eric Clapton on one Stage. Maybe two of the best guitar players ever. Epic
Money for nuthin' and Inna for FREE!
She is kinda pretty ….
I want my MTV
Sweet cat! Love it!
In this performance Eric Clapton was on rhythm guitar, but in the original studio version Sting sang the backing vocals.
Backup guitarist is pretty good too!
Ottima reazione Inna, come sempre... Quanti anni ha il tuo gattone? Sembra il fratello del mio Simon, identico!

Two guitar gods on stage at once! Only thing would have made it better is if SRV was there too

Eric Clapton and sting on this song if you didn't think Mark knopfler was enough lol 😂😉
Listen to layla live by Clapton but watch some dont show the true talent, the @albertcanta version is the best live version of this song x
lucky cat
This was the very first song played on MTV.. I like the original version more than this live version, don't care for a lot of hamming.
It’s a common misconception that this was the first song but in fact it was “Video Killed The Radio Star!” 🙂
@@RobinC63 you're correct! I thought about it after and realized my mistake.
