Dire Straits' music will never get older because good music will always live on. I love this kind of music, it still feels real and authentic to me. My favorite album of theirs is and always will be "Brothers in Arms" and when I hear the song I still get goosebumps. I accociate it with many beautiful memories. You reminded me of this music again. Thanks for that. More like that please, this time offers a lot of good music.
Your reaction is literally how it is every time I watch them. Whether in Dire Straits or Mark Knopfler solo, the songs are masterpieces... Top shelf. Mark is considered one of the greatest guitarists and songwriters of all time. There are great guitarists, there are great songwriters, there are great performers... Rarely do you get it in a complete package as incredible as this. Check out more songs man. I was so lucky to witness them live on this tour in 1992. Imagine how that blew my 16 year old mind lol. One of a kind. Excellent reaction.
Mark wrote this song because his family made the comment when he kept taking his phone off the hook that trying to call him was like trying to call Elvis. He thought it would make a good song.
Good reaction and glad you like the music. DS is one of the best bands and Mark is a god on the guitar. Check out the "Alchemy" concert, it was awesome, especially "Telegraph Road" and definitely live at Wembley "Tunnel of Love" the outro is so so good
check them out at rockpalast live 79! so you get to see him in his early days! insane live performance! "where you think youre going " on that show is 🔥
Danny Cummings, in the polka dot shirt, is still the drummer for Mark's solo band. Guy Fletcher is the only other carry over from Dire Straits that's been with him since 1996. His solo work is well worth a listen.
Hiya Mr Combustible, This is probably my favourite concert with MK & Dire Straits. Well worth you checking out this gem of a LIVE playlist. I will certainly be there if you do. Specific DS Iive performances are IMHO much more fun & interesting to watch than just listening to the studio recordings or the ‘official videos’. High viewing figures on these static recordings do not equate to the satisfaction of watching a performance with more content & atmosphere. Just saying…….I❤️❤MK
If you want sound perfection, take a look on the 12' Telegraph Road from Alchemy. Even the whole album is perfect, but you'll see the shortest 12' of your life
No one makes the guitar sing quite like Mark. He's a true master.

And not a cell phone in sight!!
@@merrilynhunt7819 I couldn't imagine how dire (pardon the pun), it would be to go to a live concert these days.
Incroyable !!!! Quelle facilité dans le jeu de la guitare !!! Les instruments et la voix se répondent y compris la batterie....😊😊
PERFECTION !!!!!
Real musicians playing real music...those were the days !

Are your sure that not to sister?
It was actually David Knopfler who said that

Opening song of the concert. I visited them in Rotterdam at de Kuip stadium
Sure you’ll like the video too! It’s a fun one with Dite Straits as Thunderbirds puppets.
