@@TheAdvertisement If you look at Sunny's normal afraid portrait, it's different from this one. This one's face is smaller and the hair looks exactly the same as Omori's portrait. Basil's portrait here also resembles him in his guilty tape (the one where he's looking at Mari's corpse) a lot more than 16 y/o RW Basil's portraits. This is definitely their younger selves.

Actually it kinda looks like it is a 12 year old Sunny, not Omori, due to the subtle outfit change basically representing the memory of the two witnessing what they had done.

You should've seen the look on my face as I slowly learned that the kel nuked strat was deliberate.
The best part is until hero gives the coffee, it's possible to _assume_ that the happy kel and flex were just random chance, but the moment hero raises his lil' bro's speed.

Just realized something- normally when you release energy, Omori goes from his normally stoic expression to a slight, genuine smile.
But at 22:34 when you release energy with Basil, Omori goes from a slight smirk back to a resting frown. Interesting...
Omori just really hates Basil.

After all, Sunny's whole coping mechanism, pretending everything was okay, and back to the way it was, came from Basil, who did the same in different ways. It was Basil's words that affected Sunny, they were used to comforting each other, and the last bit of comfort Sunny even felt (Which he was barely able to feel), were those words of Basil's,
"Everything will be okay, promise me that we'll always be there for each other". And Sunny held onto it, held onto it so much that he ended up turning it into a field to protect himself for whatever shit tried to bother him. Basically, Basil and Sunny are "A Match made in Heaven" in that context. While Sunny needs to hear what makes him feel like nothing changed, Basil needs the comfort of knowing the other party is okay, and that he didn't somehow mess everything up again. They both harm each other in ways they consider relieving, but actually emotionally destroys them both. So then Sunny and Basil started failing at that, and Basil started _reminding_ Sunny it won't ever be the same, and Sunny _reminds_ Basil that things aren't okay. Now they're harming each other by knowing what they want to escape from, but what actually shits everything is that they need to try and fix it instead of running.
_I don't think he exactly hates Basil, I think he hates the thought of having someone remind him that things have to change, and that he has to get out of his world. He hates the truth._

i’m gonna cry oh my god fighting mari?? i watched a previous playthrough of the boss rush in japanese with no sound on, i had no idea they used the switch trailer theme/what the context even was. it’s so unsettling that she isn’t even attacking you and the music is so calm… then that cut to the hanging body, dang. (but seeing new content makes me excited anyways! i absolutely loved the friends boss battle theme and have been listening to it on loop)
