Shadow Zone is by far their most criminally underrated album. People hated that it wasn't as heavy, but it showed Wayne digging out more honesty, vulnerability, and humanity from himself. It's not as ass-kicking, but it's a wiser album than most any other they ever made.
Nicely said, Shadow Zone really showcases Wayne's melodic songwriting, and his singing voice is very under-appreciated, he has great pitch and the harmonies he does on the album are just beautiful, imo Wayne hit his peak of songwriting and singing on Invincible, my favorite Static-X song.
It might not have been as heavy in that brofist jocks-that discovered-metal sense but it was definitely much more crafted and a lot darker. Definitely their album that speaks to me on a deeper level than all the rest. My personal favorite.
Shadow Zone is for sure underrated…”so” “the only” make that album a banger off those two songs alone. We saw Wayne push back the wall lyrically, and allow himself to become vulnerable. “So” is my favorite song by them.
I love this album, I think my only problem is Tripp eisen but other than that I absolutely love shadow zone, it was the first static x album I heard after my dad played it for me when I was young, hooked on it ever since
A lot of metal bands' lead singers these days are terrible live. But Wayne sounds almost identical to the studio versions. The fact he can scream, sing and play guitar at the same time takes a TON of talent. Shame he's gone now
We don't understand why sometimes fate is so bitter towards us, Wayne is capable of following an incredible career, but unfortunately it's gone too soon. May god have welcomed your soul there in heaven😔✊ R.I.P Wayne
imo (even ignoring the stuff you-know-who did) the WDT/PR1 lineup (wayne, koichi, tony, ken, & ulrich) is more iconic, but i can see how SZ’s can have its own place in people’s hearts.
Thanks a lot, yeah the best perfomance here on yt that i could find has their full live sound but it's very low quality and it's not in stereo, it's still enjoyable though ua-cam.com/video/FfsbQi4WL-Q/v-deo.html
I like the music video more. It's just because on this video in the concert he sounds much more normal rather than talking kind of aggressive in the performance.
Did a little search and found these pictures: kamn.brinkster.net/tripp_eisen_live.htm where he's playing a custom cracked mirror model, i think this is the one he's playing, the poor video quality makes it hard to see, it looks sick though
@@stefen-emilpedersen9859 they were both 14. No excuse. I accept his writing credit, but that doesn't mean I enjoy seeing his face in my favorite music videos and performances.
@@stefen-emilpedersen9859 dude! No he didn’t. He helped write about half the songs, and has been quoted saying “it was a collaborative effort.” Even if he wrote everything, is that supposed to justify what he did?
No playback no auto tune. the best
Yes when you still had to have talent not this new era anyone crap where u just gotta look good to sell crap
real musicians.
Really rock 🤘🏻
@For Parsing it's called effects
Just kick drum triggers and solid state amps 😂. Static X does use vocal effects on things sometimes too lol
Tripp Eisen's guitar in the album sounded massive. Definitely one of the most heaviest albums Static-X made, but also the most melodic. Mad respect

Try slaughter to prevail. Alex is better live then on the album.
Thank you so much for properly EQ-ing this performance.

R.I.P Wayne
This album has to be my all time favorite
Jesus, what a lame crowd , they didn't even know how lucky they were to see Wayne live. If I was there, I would start dancing alone.
I got to see him in 2009! I smoked some crack with a homeless dude before the show it was a great night 😂
Need for speed underground forever!!!
NFs rulez
THe ShadowZone era was the best.
Same it's my favorite era 🎸🤟💯🔥
R.I.P Wayne Static
The Shadow Zone era, album, and lineup will forever be my favorite 🤟🤟🎸💯💚💚
U realize the guitarist was convicted of statutory rape
@@hchoe741 u realize he is talking about the musical side? Not the outside of band stuff

This gets me hyped while driving on the highway in real life wooooooooooo!!!!
Tony is always looking bad ass.. when I join a new band I wanna be just like him.
He was the best and its amazing they r keeping his sound alive
RIP WAYNE STATIC 🤘🏼🎸
Still fucking love Wayne Static!
During that bridge...the cheers....you can tell they enjoyed the band
I appreciate the audio enhancment you did. It's a shame there isn't many performances of this song available in decent quality.

Best
Muchos Gracias for the EQ'ing
He destroyed that chorus 👏
Never listened to much static x. Wayne sounds like a combination of Jonathan Davis and Chino Moreno
he was unique, RIP
Can hear JD vibes, but Chino Moreno? Not really
@@Faks.09 His rhythm is similar to Chino if you turn the distortion off Wayne's voice lol
More JD I would say
The guitar in this song is prolly one of the best in nu metal

NEED FOR SPEED UNDERGROUND BAYBEEEE
People enjoy music. Not filming with their phones. Great time
Why don't they play this live anymore?
Is it just me, or is Eisen Tripp putting on just as much show here as Wayne?
He always had a wild stage presence. I saw them in 03 touring for this album, he was nuts. All over the stage.
Shame he is a pedophile 😮
Anybody else hears his Mitsubishi evo in the background?
Is it just me, I think Tony's mic is off?
Was this like Saturday night live or something? A talk show?
Looks like this is from Last Call With Carson Daly, which was NBC's super late night talk show.
What warlock model is tripp playing in this

One of my favorite songs from them. Too bad the sex predator was still there at this time.

Korn should cover his one.
Great lineup in this era Tripp did awesome job on Shadow Zone and Start A War but too bad he went the underage route
