I just ADORE this fabric choice! And the pearl embellishments remind me of tiny Lily of the Valley sprigs allllover the dress!! I can’t wait to see the skirt and the (undoubtedly voluminous) sleeves! 😍
That combination of fabric and the trim/decoration absolutely captures the lush, verdant, overgrown and exuberantly fecund spirit of deep summer in full swing. I can almost hear the cicadas screaming in the Virginia-Creeper-draped trees.
Welcome back, Angela!
This dress really captures the eccentricity of the 1830s. The bonnet reminds me of Lady Catherine Debourgh in the 90s Pride and Prejudice adaptation. It's so wonderfully over the top.
I saw that McCalls recently released your tea gown pattern. Congratulations! I was wondering, is there any chance we will get a redingote pattern from you? Your orange striped redingote to this day remains one of my favorites (though picking favorites is hard when all of your creations are so cool).
At my old house, I sewed gingham curtains and matching gingham pillow shams for the guest bedroom and gingham curtains in the kitchen. My cousin remarked I must really like gingham. I told her I choose gingham because it has built-in straight lines and made it easier to sew. lol.
I’m so happy to see you in my feed, you have been missed 😢, always a pleasure to see your work 😉👏🙌👍
Agreed
I love the collar. I had the opportunity today to pass french seams which I learnt from watching your videos. xxxxxx Thank you. I may have got a bit excited seeing my name at the end.
Good to see you again. Your dedication to trim is epic.
I have to respect your dedication to pizazz, there are so many details here! I especially love the trim on the back of the bodice, I don't think I've ever seen anything similar
This is delicious. Being able to wear summer in a dress!
And absolutely delightful to see your work again. Do take care of yourself.
I'm always afraid of pattern overload when decorating a garment out of checkered fabric. Apparently it can be done. Thank you
I'm always impressed by your embellishments! Pure inspiration ✨
What a lovely bodice, the beading really makes the trim pop!
Angela Clayton, sequin ambassador.
Beaucoup de talents, et de patience ! Très beau travail madame ! Donner vous des cours? Meilleur 🖖 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Historical gown: exists
Angela: NOT ENOUGH SPARKLES
i actually love the sparkles, so keep them coming ❤
So missed your videos. Even tho I am much older I truly love all your videos. I have learned so much from you. And truly adore the historical patterns. Please keep making your videos for us mere mortals/peasant sewers. Lol
I was just thinking about you this morning, wondering if we would be blessed with a new video soon! I hope you’re doing well ♥️
Aaaahhhhh can't wait for more of this dress, it's so refreshing!
This is absolutely breathtaking. I love the embellishments.
Embellishment goblin! Yes! The matching bonnet is adorable, too.
I’m seconds into this video and already excited by the fabric choice!
Your dedication to fancy is next level 💯✌️🤟🤘
So much work on the trim and the end result shows it. Love it ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so excited to see the sleeves
I was so happy to see a video from you in my feed again! This a gorgeous bodice and I can't wait to see the rest of it come together
Love the green! So happy to see you! ZenHugs!
Brilliant work. Lovely video.
Beautiful work ! 👌👏💖
Lovely 🥰 so glad your back
What a gorgeous fabric/color choice.
Love watching you sew. Very relaxing
love how 1830s fashion is just like 'weve HAD IT with austere regency fashion, its time we go all out with Everything"
Not me looking at the thumbnail nail and being like "HOLY SH1T!!! ITS BRAZIL!! ITS ME HIII ITS BRAZIL"
then calming down and realizing "no you dum dum its just two colors, not everything green and yellow is brazil"
I am a sucker for plaid! This is SOOO PRETTY!!!! And the beads! I absolutely adore the little white beads on the trim. WOW!
So delightful to see more of your beautiful work! I was in withdrawal - and in fact, just rewatched one of your earlier videos this morning, to get my AC fix! Lovely work - as always! I hope you and your babies are keeping well. Kindest regards, k
The bodice is lovely. I will be looking forward to your next video showing your next steps in making your 1830s dress
Well Angela, if this tells you how much I think it is. You made me love green for clothing. Thanks! Yet another color to add to my wardrobe. As if black, red, yellow, white, purple and some blue weren't enough! Dang it.... Really half joking aside. Another awesome make! Show us your fails. If you want. Do you have any?
This would be perfect for Saint Patrick’s Day!
💚🍀💚
Very many of the clothes of this era to the 1860s were exceptionally brightly outrageous. Love this .
And your right, the heat on L I has been brutal the last few days. Ugh!
Oh I adore your choice of fabric!!! I'm looking forward to seeing it with 1830' sleeves added.
So so pretty! Love everything about it! Reminds me a little of the dress the female lead wears Christmas Eve in the movie Christmas in Connecticut, (a favorite).
I've missed your videos! I love listening to the steps! I can't get enough of the sass, and sparkle! I hope you're doing well! How are the puppies? I hope you have a sparkly fabulous day!
So delightful! I love all the embellishments! That puff trim is fantastic. I hope I can use the concept for an upcoming project.
I absolutely LOVE this already! The fabric is gorgeous
I enjoy your channel very much. Have you ever watched the film Out Of Africa? I'm total in love with the wedding dress and hat that Meryl Streep wore as a part of her costumes for lack a better word. I hope someday you will choose to make it💝
This top is fantastic with fabulous material. I notice you have a new ironing board cover, very nice and I love counting the different nail polish colours, 3/4 this time. X
Once again Angela proves she is the Queen of Trim. I make plain things because I can’t imagine how the beads or lace or anything will look.
Absolutely gorgeous! Your poor fingers; next time, try putting pins into each side of the trim holding the trim in place while you iron. I cannot wait to see the rest of this stunning dress take shape!
xoxo's Sandie😍
You have inspired my to begin a bodice that has had fabric patiently waiting for over a year. Your ideas translate wonderfully to my holiday gown. Thank you for an awesome session.
This is quite possibly my favourite trim I’ve ever seen from you. I am always amazed at how you manage to come up with so many different types of handmade trim and achieve so many different effects. The graduated pearl placement was inspired.
Really lovely to my taste, the green is gorgeous. 😍 All the sparkly embellishments are amazing. Can't wait to see the whole dress.
So proud of youand happy for you that you're posting again!! Filming and editing videos are SUCH a pain, but I'm so thankful you go through that pain for us!!
This is such a fun bodice! I appreciate your attention to detail with all of the beading. You're amazing!
Thank you for the trim explanation! And wow it was subtle without the embellishments.
of course by the time in the video when I finish putting neon green polish on my toes, Angela's manicure changed to a dark green. but I love green and will always support any green Angela does.
This fabric is everything! If I had the skills and funds, I would make my entire wardrobe out of it!
And then never wear any of it because i do not like to be seen...
Gurl, same. Summer heat and bugs and humidity are The Worst. Love the bodice! So far dress is giving me the refreshing lemon-lime soda on a hot summer day feels.
The trim looks like flowering vines! 😊 Gorgeous 😍😍😍
So cute! I don't know what it is, but something about the way the white beads lay on the puff trim makes me think of lilies of the valley. So pretty!
Side note, your iron cover is absolutely adorable! I love it.. welcome back Angela!
I love the green 💚💚💚 and I love 1840-1860's fashion
The fabric and embellishment choices are stellar! And if the bodice is looking this good already, I can only imagine how lovely the finished product is going to be
i loved watching this video so much! i have missed your voice-over-voice in my life, and how much personality comes out in your little comments as you talk us through :)
We had a baby bonnet with fish scale sequins from 1901, we did donate to museum because fish scale sequins are fragile. Every flower on the lace has been made into a sequin flower.
I really enjoyed the many changes of nail polish throughout the process. Thank you. It gives us an even more interesting thing to look out for as we watch.
LOVE THIS!!!!
You have never been gone this long. I was starting to get concerned about you. Been praying for you. So glad you are alright. 😊⚘️
Lovely fabric with very pretty collar and trim! L can’t wait to see the finished dress!!
This is so beautiful! I love the fabric choice and pattern placement and can't wait to see the skirt and sleeves!
Angela, this is stunning, I love all your choices! I’m thinking that I need to come up with a project to put som or that trim on.
If I heard about this without seeing it, I’d have doubted if could look alright, let alone fabulous. Well done!
Colors are beautiful and trim just amazingly cute and delicate. Can't wait to see the end result.
I’d like to see you sew more vintage clothing for your wardrobe.
Omg it's gorgeous I love how the dezine and cut makes it look so flattering and sliming wish cloths had this much thought put in them today but that's a dream.
Welcome back you were missed. I hope you have been healthy and safe.
Great pattern matching! Great color! Love the level of talented crafting that went into this project!
Beautiful work Angela. Very inspiring. I'm about to spend a month at the beach where all you want to do is sit outside in the sun rather than inside a sewing room at a machine. I don't usually like to hand sew but you inspire me to create some beautiful trim for cottage core dresses.
A beautiful arsenic green. The color will look great with this style.
3:21 cc: "You probably can't too"
you're right, I can't :')
Oh. My. Deity. This is effing awesome!! 💚💚💚
I can't wait to see the skirt! I'm picturing dark green velvet ruffles near the hem
I love your videos, your dry humour and interesting designs are so fun to watch.
This is so beautiful 😍😍😍. I love the colours you chose 💚💚💚💚
I've missed you! Stunning as always!!!
What a delight to see a new video ❤️ love the vibrancy of the silk, and can't wait to see more
Your embellishments are magical!!
When I saw this video I was so excited to watch it because I love this decade! 😄😄😄
I'm loving this project so far!
Angela it's gorgeous, love the collar and silhouette.
much excite for the following vids!
I really love the bodice without the sleeves ❤️ the fabric is lovely as well
The bodice is absolutely lovely! But what I really appreciate is the coordinating nail color and the sharpie marks on your hand. I am incapable of putting a cap on a sharpie without missing and marking myself 😂
You're going to be a very fancy leprechaun lol 😆
I realize this is a summer dress but I think the colors would look good in winter too
The collar makes me wanna cry it's so pretty
Absolutely gorgeous!! Cannot wait to see the rest!
Very pretty and love your fabric choice!
Did I see a new ironing board cover? I love the fabric!
Where do you wear this dress? To a dentist appointment?
I LOVE it!!! So gorgeous💚💚💚💚
