  • A nonprofit is working to preserve some of San Diego’s iconic neighborhoods.
The newly-formed community land trust aims to keep developers out of neighborhoods and stop families from being forced out of their homes.
The Tierras Indigenas Community Land Trust aims to safeguard the cultural identity of these neighborhoods.
“This is really an opportunity to preserve our culture and our community," said funding board member, Julie Corrales. “Our mission is to preserve affordable housing, keep people from displacement and create opportunities for low-income folks to enter into home ownership.”
Corrales says it’s more important than ever to safeguard the future of neighborhoods like Barrio Logan.

Think best way to do this is have 1/4th of all apartment units be affordable units and then charities just gotta buy housing it will sell to low income folks and put in the title that they must resell at affordable prices.

Ever wonder how non-profit organizations get funded? The people who run and those who in the organizations are better the average commercial worker.

Well. Skyline was really ghetto before. It wasn't safe at all from the beginning. Now it looks better and safer little by little

@@RicoLC85 point taken; The community of Skyline, has had a history of negativity to some degree. However your just erasing generations of history by saying your cleaning up my community when in reality your pricing out people and bringing in transplants and making my community look like a modern day La Jolla. Where were these improvements 20 years ago .
