one obscure thing about Warden is his gun scales hard with spirit. for each 1 spirit you get 0.3% fire rate, so at 140 that's a 42% increase, which one can reach with Boundless Spirit and simply filling slots, on top of scaling the rest of your kit. (edit: before i said this was doubly effective, but i found out this is because weird wording in UI, after verifying all the calculations) however, by focusing on this, it'll make his ammo size feel pretty low. for that, i think Frenzy (for its flat ammo and other benefits) and a reload proc item are really good. i like Melee Charge cus you can use heavy melee to charge forward during ult.
warden seems boring to play but this build seems pretty good/interesting. i’m still trying to understand how different heroes scale and how you can see this information. i’m starting to get a hang of the items in a vacuum now, but i don’t know how to evaluate them in terms of specific heroes. i know the ability tooltips usually have extra information, but it’s little things like this that make actually good item builds. i feel like not learning these nuances is what’s stopping me from being able to come up with good builds on my own, which is a skill i need to learn since the game is gonna keep getting patched bi-weekly.
@@eebbaa5560 i have a similar mindset. i didn't get interested in Warden until i looked at all the characters and their scaling methods and found this out. generally the best way is by checking the aforementioned panels in sandbox or the heroes page and seeing if there's anything out of the ordinary. also, upgrading all the skills and seeing if there's anything with unmentioned scaling. for example, spirit gives Wraith both sprint speed scaling and scales the spirit damage added to bullets from her 3rd skill. then there's stuff like the differences in base move speed, resists, etc. stuff like McGinnis having base 25% spirit resistance or Bebop getting bullet resistance from power makes a huge difference.
Love that you took feedback about the editing from the melee video. This video is a much better watch imo. No random texts popping up on screen or random sound effects. Great job!
I love QSR. it might not be high skill but its a simple way to have full ammo and a nice atk speed bonus on command. Nothing worse than jailing someone and having an empty mag.
Me as Warden, support role aka jailer is my playstyle by spamming Binding Word… I don’t really use Slowing Hex in my build but I imbue Binding Word with Improved Reach, Superior Cooldown and Superior Duration… With Improved Reach on Binding Word, not only you increase the locking aoe but increase the casting range afar as well
I've been messing around with my own Warden build and came up with similar ideas to yours, but I like a lot of the takes you have on this build. Been using it a lot and it's quite effective! Thanks so much for the build and the video.
Been using this build for weeks cool to see the guide. I’ve added quite a few things mostly the items that have a tier 2 version I added them in case its a long game, majestic leap and quicksilver reload. Overall it’s a great build and comes online extremely fast i find.
This + the maj leap spirit build are my favs, also use a semblance of this build on Kelvin where I just sprint at people, cage them in ult and dink their heads
I'm not sure if I like this guide too much - it feels really bad to play with the very little amount of ammo you have compared to how fast you're firing in the lategame with some of the spirit items.
@Deathy it's also bugged. Whoever you divine barrier, you will get an assist everytime they get a kill after you buff them once. I stopped buying it because I refuse to abuse it and just go health nova.
@@LikeAFreeman warden build that doesn't scale spirit, aka fire rate and all sorts of goodies. barriers only good for ending games between 15-20 minutes, which most can't do because it requires all 6 people on the same page and to actually execute. no endgame survivability. No decay or healbane. any competent team will drag the match out and evaporate you when they chain stun you. bait.
what are your thoughts on quicksilver reload? i find it very useful for jungle and wave clearing & there have been many fights i think i wouldve died without it. but it also means i can no longer engage with my flask which may limit the chances of landing cage.
I'm sure resistances can go into negatives. He point he did is that shields don't give a damn about resistances, so they can buy all the kind of magic resist that they want but it won't affect you.
As MemekingSupreme says it literally stands for "Crowd Control" but what they're referring to is the ability to control enemies through stuns. To a lesser extent cc also refers to slows, silences & disarms - anything that prevents the oponents from doing as they please.
Imo warden is pretty bad, id put him second worst next to mcginnis. His root is extremely easy to avoid unless he uses slowing hex and even then you can get out of it. The ult buildup time makes it very easy for people to get away and kite you. His weapon dmg is quite high but that isn’t enough to make him good imo as there are other characters that can get high dmg but they have better cc, mobility, etc
if you think Warden is bad then you clearly cant play him. Im constantly in the top 2 in my team as Warden. You just need to focus your build around your ultimate and know when to engage. Im constantly killing people 1v2 and sometimes even 1v3.
@@pirate135246 Well what hero do you even play yourself? You do realize not all hero match ups are equal 1v1. You have clearly never at least played vs a good Warden then. You cant really base a characters strength on your own experience against them.
@@Ex0rz mo, bepop, infernus, wraith, vindicta, haze, etc. Dash jump is good enough to avoid his root which is crazy considering other characters get full stuns as their cc and they don't have conditionals. Warden is just bad.
@@pirate135246 Yeah so you are playing high mobility / flying characters so no wonder you are doing good against wraith. And if you simply manage to dodge his curse with a dash jump and thats it then you clearly havent played against a good wraith as I already said. Melee charge is actually a really good idea. I don't know how I just completely forgot that item exists.

His gun is fat it's so fun to use
His shield also scales very hard with spirit

I love QSR on the flask too, QSR and Active Reload lets you stay really active - I always feel naked when I'm low on ammo lol.

I’ve personally been building a maj leap build, you can pop ult during and insta wipe players.
i thought i was the only one

great video. i haven't played warden yet but this build looks fun, especially with magic carpet
lets go deathy ❤ u and Avg Joe are the best channels imo

o wow literally just what i needed. a warden guide ty

I had a game at about 12 minutes the enemy warden starting leaping on top of our walkers mid ult and killing them nearly instantly.
Thx for sharing 🤍
holy shit a guide on my main
What about Extra Duration?

Any will to do a kelvin guide someday?
Warden is by far my fav champ great guide
good job!
Are there vods of veil walker magic carpet warden gameplay?
you forgot to include popping last stand then popping magic carpet
thanks man, fucking love u
I cannot play this hero without ++mag size. The tiny clip tilts me.
After the last 2 patches nerfing him and the larger indirect nerfs to items he uses like heroic aura he feels so much weaker and low tier now.
He's still completely fine at the moment
