The Lakers is one of the two most storied and winning teams in the history of the league. Coaching there is usually a sign that a coach has proven that they are one of the best, and JJ has zero experience as a head coach. That's all they're saying. No disrespect to JJ or failure to recognize his ability.
We don’t know if he’s going to be good or horrible. When a storied franchise chooses an unproven guy who’s NEVER even coached little league, people are not going to like it, especially the team’s fans.
Can’t be mad at ppl hating when he gets an opportunity for a job at the highest level while he has zero experience in the field. It may work out, he may be a great coach, but it’s not common for someone with no experience to get the job or be successful in their first run doing the job at the highest level in this case the NBA.
There's a difference between being smart and being a head coach in the NBA, You have to have skin in the game. He was never a head coach for a high school or college, so of course people are going to talk when you jump straight to the NBA and take over an entire team as the head coach. It's just like if someone was really good in football, but never coached on any level, then was given the keys as a head coach to an NFL team. 🤔
Me being a black guy, I really think JJ is going to be a winner for this job. This is not the now job it's the after Lebron is gone job that excites me the most. Chess move people
He's the right guy. Its the Lakers ownership and management and roster limitations that are wrong. What makes JJ not the right guy is its a shame to put a first time coach with potential into such a toxic situation that will tarnish him before he has a chance to prove himself
The reason why Lebron picked him is coz 1. He knows JJ is capable. 2. Bron wants someone who’s not autocratic, coz let’s keep it real, Bron is both Assistant GM and Assistant Head Coach on every team he went into after Spo. 3. Someone must take the attention afar from AD and Bron. Someone that can take the heat and blame if ever the Lakers continue to lose. Lastly, 4. He convinced JJ that it’s a win-win. Guy’s been grilled since Duke, in ESPN, and now prolly the whole American population who are fans of the NBA.
I like what you said my only question is can JJ Reddick confront and hold LeBron accountable like I don’t think he’s gonna have to, but could he and would he?
@@user-ic7yr8ce4y he won’t do that. I think he’d coach Bron like Ty Lue. Remember how they fired David Blatt and replaced him with Ty Lue? David Platt is autocratic, Bron is egotistical they clashed. Lebron will not bow down to any coach - JJ is intelligent to know that the only way to coach Lebron is how Doug Collins coached MJ.
Kentucky has a baseball manager who had no prior coaching experience, yet led Kentucky to their first ever college baseball world series. You never know how well people will just fit into a position. Those coaches would likely turn down the job. I would too.
Initial choice D Hur turned down position weeks back, eh Po po bs
I worry about jj because he will be a great coach one day but LA is messy with insane expectations and nasty media coverage. I just worry about him in the spotlight here and unreasonable expectations.
Pandering Pat say what you really want to say, bottom line the guy has no business being the coach of an NBA franchise not to mention a 4 yr deal it’s joke and we all know why he got the job Bron can hold this L.
JJ was a role player. And called everyone that came before him and paved the way for him not to have to work odd jobs and just play basketball and get benefits etc garbage men.
It is 100% warranted he gets trashed talked
JJs coach hating is unreasonable
Nothing he’s done on the court leads you to believe he’d be a good coach. Not how that works
It's because he didnt pay any dues in the coaching circuit and people don't like it.
The Lakers is one of the two most storied and winning teams in the history of the league. Coaching there is usually a sign that a coach has proven that they are one of the best, and JJ has zero experience as a head coach. That's all they're saying. No disrespect to JJ or failure to recognize his ability.
Pat got hit in the head
It's almost like he being hunted.... By the SAS 😂😂😂
We don’t know if he’s going to be good or horrible. When a storied franchise chooses an unproven guy who’s NEVER even coached little league, people are not going to like it, especially the team’s fans.
he is not meant for the job and that’s why he got it
Critizing his job skills with factual evidence= Hating 😂😂
JJ reddick didn't do anything but shoot
He’s not getting hated on cuz he’s jj, he’s getting hated on cuz he’s going to the lakers
Me being a black guy, I really think JJ is going to be a winner for this job. This is not the now job it's the after Lebron is gone job that excites me the most. Chess move people
I think he will be like a Jason Kidd type coach. Very cerebral. Don’t know if he’s ready for the lights as a coach. But time will tell
He's the right guy. Its the Lakers ownership and management and roster limitations that are wrong.
What makes JJ not the right guy is its a shame to put a first time coach with potential into such a toxic situation that will tarnish him before he has a chance to prove himself
Right guy for the wrong team makes him the wrong guy.
JJ could've just taken an assistant coach gig. He did it to himself
JJ played for Duke as a star player. Don't think the noise will bother him
The reason why Lebron picked him is coz 1.
JJ knows it. They’d been in podcast and it’ll be like a “collab” coaching job. Lebron will not bow down to any coach - JJ is intelligent to know that the only way to coach Lebron is how Doug Collins coached MJ.
He could be a great coach, but the current lakers environment is not ideal as his first gig
Kentucky has a baseball manager who had no prior coaching experience, yet led Kentucky to their first ever college baseball world series. You never know how well people will just fit into a position. Lots of great coaches just don't fit. Thats what its all about. I personally think JJ is a great fit but time will tell.
W content keep it ip
I cant remember one team where jj was the leader of his team dude was a role player that could shoot he didn't lead a team no where he may have helped or assit but lead nah
I was in high school when JJ Reddick was the MAN at Duke. They thought he’d be an NBA lord.
The problem is that he COULD be the right guy (and I'm personally willing to give him the benefit of the doubt), but he's also getting the top coaching job on one of the NBA's biggest teams with possibly the single thinnest coaching resume of any NBA HC in decades, possibly NBA history.
I personally think he'll be great, but I also think Steve Nash proved that being an ex-NBA player with high BB IQ isn't all it takes.
