I'll be honest this is one of my favorite Suffering animatics! I love how unbothered Ody is in the first half before becoming so menacing in forshadowing to Different Beast. And its sort of the opposite with siren!Pen, where in the beginning she's so uncanny and freaky with her claws and sideways blinking, before getting super caught off gaurd and confused by Ody's shift in behavior. I love how you can see her start to get irritated with him towards the end and scarmble to regain her composure when it breaks. Super amazing work!!
I love how the siren gets progressively more creeped out by Ody instead of angered or frustrated. It really emphasizes that theme of Odysseus becoming the real monster at this point in the musical
I love the detail of Odysseus' eyes hardening when she mentions his "daughter". A lot of animatics have him keeping his cool the whole song so it's cool to see one that hints how angry he actually is underneath.
this is fantastic 👍 love how they both unnerve/threaten each other with their body language, and i live how the siren blinked. i had to go back the first time to make sure i saw that correctly lol
I like the detail of how the line changes from "I will take the suffering from you", to "I will take MY suffering from you." As she grows progressively more and more frustrated, she accidentally let slip that she apparently intends to make him suffer once this is over cause she's annoyed at him for making her work so hard.
Ive seen a few other people say this but i genuinely appreciate how threatening odysseus looks at the end, as it goes perfectly into the line "you are a threat no longer" in different beast. He is the threat now, not the sirens.
The siren and Ody mutually harrassing each other while keeping the charade is really funny, esp that moment where the siren is looking concerned as he grabs her like lol
I like the angles so much, like you get the angles where she's clearly so much further down than he is and then she just cozies up next to him because ofc siren magic lol also the expressions Odysseus has 😮 Just the tiniest hint of whats to come, already turning the dynamic on its head making **her** uncomfortable with how close he gets. Ugh so good!!!
This is a great animatic! I love the emphasis on the siren using a long flowy dress to hide their tail. They lay on the rock but are not able to go all the way up on the boat in order to keep the illusion! Awesome detail. As well as the side blind and the siren being confused/annoyed their magic song hasn't kicked in
THE EMOTIONS AND FACES ARE JUST ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SHE LOOKS ACTUALLY SO EVIL AND WOW IT SEEMS LIKE HOW THE ACTUAL SIREN WOULD ACT SHS GETS SO ANGRY AT HIM I'M JUST WOW! This is the best suffering animatic I've seen yet number 1
I love how your Siren!Penelope slowly starts to show more and more of her actual siren traits as the song progresses. Like in the beginning she looks human enough, then as Odysseus stalls and tests her, she does her reptilian blink. When he begins to question her, her claws come out, and by the end she's tired of waiting and drops the human ears and teeth and looks almost fully like a monster.
I adored your Thunder Bringer and this one did NOT dessapoint✨ I loved when 'Posiren' (i wonder who else here knows the context of the name) made Scylla's appearance in the water waves. Also! The way Odysseus looked down right scary in the "You should come up to the ship" moment is espectacular!!💜
I love how the "oh no" bit is always either a scene where the siren looks away like... "yeah... that would suck..." in an awkward way or "oh no! that would be terrible!" in a very fake kind way.
Ugh I love your siren penelope design, with the black lips and thick eyeliner and sharp nails, its just the right balance of alluring and unnerving and the way her clothes meld seamlessly with the water and the way shes constantly twisting like a whirlpool or a waterspout really sells the idea that this is a marine predator. The body language here is also so so good, the little hand gestures throughout, as well as the way they switch from her looming and grabbing at Odysseus to HIM looming over her and grabbing her arm really makes you feel the shift in power dynamics and how unsettled the siren is by it; it makes Odysseus feel equally predatory in such a subtle but chilling way.
Please do more, I love the face expressions, you can really tell when their feeling annoyed or like their being defensive. Like when Odysseus leans on the railing and stops her from getting to close, and when she worries about him grabbing her
I think my favorite part is the immediate shift in his eyes when she says “daughter” it’s just a nice detail (idk I enjoy the emphasis on the fact that the siren slipped up and he noticed)
I love how after he gets the info his demeanor changes like he isn’t even attempting to show a possibility of jumping in his facade is gone he’s playing with her now and when she annoys him as she suddenly realizes her meal is about to walk away he shows his true nature daring her to try again. I also love 2:20 how you can see he LETS HER GO! 🤣🥲😍 he literally says “i don’t even need to keep you here that’s how in control of this situation I am.”
I love the way you gave some siren details to her Penelope disguise, almost like she was being careless versus a man with whom carelessness can get you killed.

The way he narrows his eyes when she said "come play with me and our daughter" like it must have taken so much right there to not completely lose his composure
I love this for so many reasons (I wish I found this earlier lol) - Siren Penelope hides her annoyance (The little cold gaze while submerged in water) - Instead of getting extra annoyed she just gets even crazier/worried - THE SMILE BRO it's so creepy especially by the end with the wide eyes - By the end I'm pretty sure that she's scared as hell with the wide eyes but still has the smile on - Either that or she's actually pissed off by then and she just doesn't realize that her lifespan had rapidly decreased - The sideways blink which humans when evolving just forgot how to do
1:07 can I just say I love this part? Like the eye blink for one, but also the fact that her lips don't move when she's saying 'you' (idk if that was intentionly) it just created this sense that she is wearing a mask
2:15 holy shit I love this part! This is the first time I see something like this and it’s so good? Like ??? The manic look in both of their eyes? I’m in love with this animatic.
Sirenelope: jump in the water so we can have a happy life with our daughter. Poseidon: 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝙀𝙄𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙍 𝘿𝙍𝙊𝙒𝙉 𝙄𝙉 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙒𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙍 𝙊𝙍 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙒𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙍 𝘿𝙍𝙊𝙒𝙉𝙎 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙋𝘼𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙏𝙄𝘾 𝙄𝙎𝙇𝘼𝙉𝘿.
I especially love how predatory she is when she's telling him about Scylla and then tells him to get in the water, and ten he starts weirding her out and making her uncomfortable with his unhinged behavior. If you're covering 'Different Beast' too, I can't wait to see it!
Scylla is said to have three jaws on each head and "legs" that are deformed also grab on anything she wants, she's a lot more than a simple monster , I'm pretty sure according to Greek mythology she also has some type of deadly venom , it is said that nothing makes it out of her lair alive , Gods in Greek mythology also are shown with human characteristics so they get happy sad petty like humans therefore they get scared too , so all in all it does make sense that even the sea god is scared of scylla
@@anastasiesk02 I don't remember her being said to have venom. And even if she has, however deadly it might be, it still can't affect a immortal god. And in Greek Mythology, Gods are similars to humans but are said to be another race. Poseidon control the f====ing ocean, he's way above Scylla.
@efaristi9737 idk if the venom's mentioned in the songs but in a few articles I've read it def is , however the thing about mythology is there are many different versions of the same thing so even if she didn't have venom she still is very scary , now, sure poseidon is the god of sea but it's not like we never see the gods lose throughout greek mythology, like aphrodity for example who's the symbol of beauty but she has still lost now and then to other pretty women , so sure the gods are strong as hell but they aren't 100% invincible
This was so good. I do think it's funny how often the siren spins and turns around in this though, considering Odysessus is reading her lips to understand her lol
HASHAJFA IF SIREN IS DANGER WHY HOT BEAUTIFUL LADY ahem anyway i love your art!! and how meticulous? cautious? cunning? odyssesus looks as he tries to ask for infomation while trying not to die ahshsj the way you drew their expressions is honestly chefs kith. im gay for both of them on first sight
Okay, but 2:15 and 2:16 . I know it’s not that kind of situation but I love it. Also the juxtaposition of her pretending to be Penelope when she’s actually his enemy and these interactions that could easily be between an enemy or a love is so good!
I feel like their facial expressions during these time stamps also show how much of a dangerous man he is. Instead of just faking a smile the whole time, he’s switching back and forth and you can see how much he detests her. This is also really interesting and matches the switch to the next song. I love this animatic so much!
I also love how in the end when he’s holding onto her, when he lets go his expression is saying “I have won, I am the one in control”. Then when you pan to the siren for a short time she has pure fear on her face. I love how you portrayed the emotions, actions, and reactions of Odysseus and the siren in this animatic!

Im starting to dig this musical after hearing no longer you and I will say I love how around the end of the song we see the true form of the siren start to be revealed
I love the way you draw both Penelope and Ody, they are both scary beautiful, off putting yk? Idk how to put a nail on it but the way you animate/draw feels so amazing and so different! Amazing animatic :)
you have GOT to be one of my new favourite animators - the way you draw characters makes them feel so alive, and the way you make the 'camera' move (if that makes sense?) is so cool
I LOVE the additions of the uncanny tells on the siren, and Odysseus's tells of danger too! He is MORTIFYING and I think that you did a really good job illustrating the actual power dynamic of the scene. Also, your expressions are SO GOOD! I also REALLY really like your use of lighting and shadows to indicate tonal shift in the scene, it does you a lot of justice. Beautiful art through and through!

[PENELOPE?] I could take the suffering from you [ODYSSEUS] You should come onto the ship We'll jump at the same time [PENELOPE?] I will take the suffering from you [ODYSSEUS] Ah, the things I do for you
Something I love is that every animatic gets the exact thing right, Ody consistently learns from his enemies and even allies. He uses Polites open armss tactic to lure her in close, Circe's seduction to keep her as close as possible, plays games with her like Aeolus by dancing around her demands and even olayfully turning her questions around onto her and eventually uses the fear and power he learned from Polyphemus to truly get her to back the fuck off.
I absolutely love this! First off, I love your designs for odysseous with he gets the siren to give him the info he wants, siren!penelope and the somewhat unnerving eternal smile and sideways blinking, and the ship! I adore all the expressions you give your characters, and I also adore your anatomy. I love how the Siren attempts to keep her cool but how it's obvious by 2:00 that she's very clearly impatient, and even her transformation is begging to work wrongly. Thank you for making it!

As she grows progressively more and more frustrated, she accidentally let slip that she apparently intends to make him suffer once this is over cause she's annoyed at him for making her work so hard.
Ive seen a few other people say this but i genuinely appreciate how threatening odysseus looks at the end, as it goes perfectly into the line "you are a threat no longer" in different beast. He is the threat now, not the sirens.
Odysseus will never beat the girldad allegations..
[I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!!]
what does that mean may i ask?
@@xenodrone3367 it was a reference to a tumblr meme i saw!! "sirenelope took one look at Odysseus and went 'girldad.'" sorry for the confusion!!
@@computer_V1R3N No prob thanks for explaining bud👍
big fan of the siren pulling out the classic finger-walk tease--especially when it comes with a reminder of her claws
The fact that he looks so done with the siren
I mean... She's using Penelope to try to kill him. I really can't imagine him ever having the patience for that
The siren and Ody mutually harrassing each other while keeping the charade is really funny, esp that moment where the siren is looking concerned as he grabs her like lol
Odysseus is stronger than I because I would've caved immediately (Beautiful animatic btw!)
I like the angles so much, like you get the angles where she's clearly so much further down than he is and then she just cozies up next to him because ofc siren magic lol
also the expressions Odysseus has 😮 Just the tiniest hint of whats to come, already turning the dynamic on its head making **her** uncomfortable with how close he gets. Ugh so good!!!
the side-eyelids blinking was unexpected but amazing detail. @1:07
Nothing is more fun in this song animatics that the siren's reaction to Ody telling her his problems and she getting more and more annoyed
This is a great animatic!
I love the emphasis on the siren using a long flowy dress to hide their tail. They lay on the rock but are not able to go all the way up on the boat in order to keep the illusion! Awesome detail. As well as the side blind and the siren being confused/annoyed their magic song hasn't kicked in
*blink
Her expressions at 1:22 😭 girl does not feel bad for him AT ALL lmao
I think she was more panicked because of the poseidon thing😭
ooo that’s a cool way to see it too! it’s nice how art can be interpreted in different ways :)
@@actuallyMia15 yeah I agree
Nah it looks more like an "oh shit" expression like "your being chased by WHAT NOW????? Wtf have I gotten myself into"
For me, it was more like a "bro what the fuck did you do?!"
And let’s not forget wet hades
I love how you have her going up to the boat and back to the rock, proving she can board she just prefers her hunt and tricks
Love all the small details. Odysseus narrowing his eyes at the mention of 'their daughter'? Chef's kiss 😭
SOME HIGHLIGHTS CAUSE I LIKE THIS ANIMATIC

2:02 DRAMA QUEEN DRAMA QUEEN DRAMA QUEEN
2:09 THE CHEEKY BASTARD IS BACKKKKK
2:15 WHAT A POWER MOVE MY DUDE
I really like this :)
I must give credit where credit is due. The siren's water drawing skills are quite good(1:43).
The way he narrows his eyes when she said "come play with me and our daughter" like it must have taken so much right there to not completely lose his composure
the facial expressions are on point 🤌 Siren Penelope truly looks tired of Ody's tricks 🤌🤌
Genuinely my favorite art style for Epic the musical
THIS IS SO GOOD i love the smug look Ody has through the whole song it's so funny, bro knows what is going on
@@arisu_6635 Bro has a secret he’s itching to tell😟
I love this for so many reasons (I wish I found this earlier lol)
- Siren Penelope hides her annoyance (The little cold gaze while submerged in water)
- Instead of getting extra annoyed she just gets even crazier/worried
- THE SMILE BRO it's so creepy especially by the end with the wide eyes
- By the end I'm pretty sure that she's scared as hell with the wide eyes but still has the smile on
- Either that or she's actually pissed off by then and she just doesn't realize that her lifespan had rapidly decreased
- The sideways blink which humans when evolving just forgot how to do
I LOVE how Odysseus is totally playing around with the siren with smart little looks down at her xD I'm in love with the way you draw fabric folds
I adore how sirenelope is getting nervous at the end, and is clearly trying to regain control of the situation
they way that she starts to look more and more like a siren as the song goes on as her patience starts to wear out is genius
1:07 can I just say I love this part? Like the eye blink for one, but also the fact that her lips don't move when she's saying 'you' (idk if that was intentionly) it just created this sense that she is wearing a mask
You’re honestly my new favorite Epic animator, these animatics look awesome
@@mirtki8749 High praise😭 Glad you like them🫡🫡
2:15 holy shit I love this part! This is the first time I see something like this and it’s so good? Like ??? The manic look in both of their eyes? I’m in love with this animatic.
Odysseus: I’m not scared of the water
Poseidon: watch this 🌊🌊🌊🌊
Sirenelope: jump in the water so we can have a happy life with our daughter.
His eye squint when she says "Daughter" was an EXCELLENT touch
I also JUST noticed the ear and hand fins transforming at 0:30 You're so good
1:45 And why would the god of ocean be afraid of Scylla ? Like a monster with six heads is impressive but that's still just a monster.
They have some personal beef, he is probably to ashemed to look at her since he is the one responsable for her looking like a monster
@@Berlinguer_bornagain The sea god who was in love with her isn't Poseidon.
Im obsessed with the last few seconds fr, Ody making the siren uncomfortable. He looked fucking terrifying. So perfect 😭💕
bro dropped another banger and thought we wouldn’t notice 😭🙏 this is amazing and THE SCYLLA DESIGN SNEAK?? she’s so pretty what
This was so good. I do think it's funny how often the siren spins and turns around in this though, considering Odysessus is reading her lips to understand her lol
HASHAJFA IF SIREN IS DANGER WHY HOT BEAUTIFUL LADY
ahem anyway i love your art!! and how meticulous? cautious? cunning? odyssesus looks as he tries to ask for infomation while trying not to die ahshsj the way you drew their expressions is honestly chefs kith. im gay for both of them on first sight
You have taken over act II in terms of anamatics, I love what I have seen from you.
I keep rewatching this bc I love your art style and how you portrayed them 😭💕
0:39 dhhfbs THE WAY THAT HIS EYES IMMEDIATELY LIKE NARROW AFTER SHE SAYS DAUGHTER
2:17 i adore the back and forth ahgojfdncmvvk
I love the detail of how annoyed the siren looked as the song went on
2:03 HELP THE DRAMA 😭
It’s called sass
“Penelope, Stawwpp.. Not in front of my crewww🤭🤭”
I love how Odysseus looks both threatening and hot.. or is that just me?
0:00 right off the bat! A pretty and eye catching intro!
0:24 p-prety
0:33 bro that just looks cool, also 😳
0:53 i love how smug he looks
1:08 NAAAH that blink was freakyy, well donee

Extra point cause your character design is just sooo prete ✨
Points: 11
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Loving this point system tbh
“Oh no….🙄” she wants her meal to stop yapping
This is probably my favorite animatic of this song! I like hep their dynamic goes back and forth with both characters trying to control the situation while keeping a charming demeanor
I think its my favorite "suffering" animatic by now, its amazing!! I really liked how you portrayed the siren, her movements, her expressions, everything is on top!
The way that by the end it's *Odysseus* that's making the siren uncomfortable as opposed to the other way around is just too good!
love this! the best animatic out there!!!
The angles, flow, body language and expressions are all PEAK HOLY SHIT
I love how in this version there both getting progressively annoyed and with one another and not just the siren
“I’m too shy 👉👈 😝” - Ody
Im starting to dig this musical after hearing no longer you and I will say I love how around the end of the song we see the true form of the siren start to be revealed
In “of course!” Sirenelope looks so caring and adorbs. Love it!
Your colouring and artstyle is just so gorgeous
Mortifying?
@@SilverBelle-dg7jk yes! Odysseus is showing us hints of a darker, more willing to harm version of himself. Compared to the rest of the series and songs, that’s mortifying, or horrifying / shocking ^^
The sideways blinking!
Also the arm grabs from both of them shows who is the real momster here.
NO ONE is talking about how smooth Ody is with this, like 1:01?? This entire sequence is just ahlfhsjaih
That siren’s a lucky girl 😔 should’ve been me
Dude Im so late yet so in love with this
1:10 AAAH HER EYELIDS CLOSING LIKE A REPTILE'S, THAT'S SUCH A GREAT DETAIL
[SIRENS]
Penelope
Penelope
[PENELOPE?]
Don’t you miss me?
[ODYSSEUS]
More than you know
[PENELOPE?]
Then jump in the water and kiss me
[ODYSSEUS]
Penelope, I’ve told you this before
You know I’m afraid of the water
[PENELOPE?]
I’ll make sure that you are safe and sound
Come play with me and our daughter
and let’s watch our love leave the ground
[ODYSSEUS]
Oh, I would
But I’d be suffering trying to float the whole time
[PENELOPE?]
I would take the suffering from you
[ODYSSEUS]
Oh, as good as it sounds, right here I’m just fine
[PENELOPE?]
I could take the suffering from you
[ODYSSEUS]
You know that I prefer my feet on the ground
[PENELOPE?]
I will take the suffering from you
[ODYSSEUS]
Fine, but only if you answer a question or two
[PENELOPE?, spoken]
Of course!
[ODYSSEUS, spoken]
Okay, so let’s say I was on the run or hiding…
From, I don’t know, Poseidon…
And let’s say he blocked the way home with giant waves and giant storms...
[PENELOPE?, spoken]
Oh no!
[ODYSSEUS]
How am I to evade him?
How am I to get home?
Which route should I take?
Where am I supposed to go?
[PENELOPE?]
He will chase you high and low
So find a place he’d never go
The one way you'll get home
Is sailing where he's scared to roam, oh
It’s through the lair of Scylla
[ODYSSEUS, spoken]
No...
[PENELOPE?]
This is your only way home
The lair of Scylla
[ODYSSEUS]
But Scylla has a cost
[PENELOPE?]
Well, you asked and now you know
Now jump in the water!
[ODYSSEUS]
Penelope, why?
You know I’m too shy and terrified
[PENELOPE?]
I would take the suffering from you
[ODYSSEUS]
Oh, for you, I would die, but can't you let me stay dry?
[PENELOPE?]
I could take the suffering from you
[ODYSSEUS]
You should come onto the ship
We'll jump at the same time
[PENELOPE?]
I will take the suffering from you
[ODYSSEUS]
Ah, the things I do for you
Thanks
1:46 WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT HOW AWESOME THE SCYLLA DESIGN IS?!
YES!! So many great videos out there but yours just NAILS the tone of this song. Your expressions are perfect. Keep up the great work :D
