Another awesome trip Gllen, shit happens sometimes and things go wrong mate and all part of being outdoors, enjoyed the trip with you team ,cheers and greetings,, Tony.
Great vid- my trip at end of October I got sunburnt going in to Back Ridge - beautiful clear days and a Low of 4 degrees - but once the wind got up it wreaked it Cheers guys
Nice adventure mate!! Did you thermal that area wear you popped over the rise and missed the 2 deer ? I’ve left HB in shorts n singlet then have to change into thermals and wet weather gear once at the ruahines it’s crazy the weather .🤙🤙. Keep it up team BRB.
@@huntiz8438 I bloody well should have used the thermal on the couple I didn't see!! I thought between the dog & I we had it covered!! (Obviously not) Thanks for watching
Good morning mate. Calling from somewhere inland on the Southern Island. Just curious. Is that hut, private.? If so, it needs a paint job. From a low flying 500, it would stand out like dogs balls. Attracts too much attention. I'd be inclined to take a branch of the scrub around you, into town, and get a colour match. Do the owner a favour. Anyhoo brilliant episode mate. Great footage, great editing. Don't worry about the bad luck. It happens. I borrowed a blokes Lee Enfield "Long Tom" 303, open sights of course. Weighed a ton. He gave me some old ww2 ammo, a box of 20. Free.!! Back then we carried everything in an old A frame, "kidney rotter" and away I went. Fair go mate, those sights were so out of line, I couldn't have hit a barn door from 10 foot away. Or a bull on the bum, with a wet shovel. So I gave up, and went back down country, and knocked over a pig about weaner size, with a knife. (Cut down ww2 bayonet.) By the way, I was only 13 at the time. Still blushing every time a girl spoke to me. However, forward to now.. Thank you for sharing. Hot barrels.
@bryanbadger6841 Hi Bryan, love your comments and stories (bloody classic!!) Don't think we have too many south island viewer's! Hope to paint the hut roof this summer. Cheers BRB
@samjoblin1542 It's not looking to flash at the moment, but like other years it can change pretty quickly, December might be as wet as hell yet (fingers crossed)
A real shame your getting away from the grass roots of hunting using an over $5000 thermal well out of reach of the average Kiwi hunter a real shame loosing the reason alot of followers have followed you in the past just an opinion get back to the core.
Thanks Geoff, respect your thoughts and opinion. Yes it's expensive, not everyone can afford to drive a flash car, doesn't mean you can't look at them? Thermals are another tool in the tool box, do you keep up with modern tech or stick your head in the sand? I note you haven't criticized my carbon rifle , or suggested I carry an open sight 303? We haven't changed as hunters, or our values, just trying to film how we see the outdoors in our neck of the woods and hopefully encourage a few younger people to give hunting a crack. Cheers BRB
@BackridgeButcher I know you have a lightweight and carbon stocked rifle and understand what your saying relating to carbon rifles but far more common place and almost the norm these days not critising thermals missing the point just the extremely expensive thermal you are promoting, a considerable difference in a main platform compared to an accessory like an overly expensive... thermal I enjoy your videos just concerned your going down the rabbit hole into that product pushing highway. And the answer is no I haven't got my head stuck in the sand or technically out of touch I'm not that shallow or ignorant just realistic! I have no issues with thermals just the very expensive thermal product you are promoting I think it's well out of touch of the average Kiwi hunter so promoting expensive products isn't going to encourage people into the sport of hunting.
@geoffbaxter9200 Geoff, you might find this interesting, obviously I operate a small wild game business, I would confidently say, 90 percent of my clients use thermals!! I don't know how they can afford them, but the fact is, they do! (Along with pretty cool 4x4 utes with lots of after market accessories) Second point I'd like to make, if a boot company supports us (as Crispi do) they aren't going to get us promoting jandles when the produce a premium mountain boot are they? The fact we are promoting one of, if currently not the BEST thermal on the market, is because they believe we are reaching a market they want to tap into! (I guarantee there are even far more expensive thermals out there Geoff) Right now with deer numbers exploding on both public and private land, thermals are the best tool that help guys put deer on the deck, they are no longer the elephant in the room.
