The same airstrip we flew into into in 1987 with Air Charter Taupo all those years ago. This brings back many memories of my first hunt in NZ.What an experience!!
Awesome hunting trip and great video and footage Gllen, excellent head shot on a nice young stag and great venison for the table too. Thanks team and greetings to you all,, Tony.
That got my blood pumpin. So long since I flew so often with Air Charter Taupo with Graham, Arthur and Christine. The back country down there is one of my favourite places to be. One time I had shot so many deer that we took quite a bit of tea tree back to Taupo from the end of one of the airstrips, probably a teeny bit overloaded.
💯 sure you can use spinners mate, we & friends have triple checked the rules that we can find, appreciate your concern though, I don't want to go to jail
No dramas, last time i fished there was back in around 2002, I used to fly in with Christine and then hike down the river and fly camp, similar to what you guys were doing. Green Mepps Veltics work very well in those crystal clear back country rivers. @@BackridgeButcher
Met him at Makahu carpark and he let us stay in the doc rangers hut after we’d come out of Backridge fridge (bivi) in the snow after a Southerly had come through, we’d made the trip up from Motueka and had to wait for our ride from another part of our crew who had gone elsewhere. Top bloke with a great sense of humour alright.
How many dogs you run i see you have at least a couple, can i ask the breeding, done alot pighunting around nelson but in western Australia now. Love watching your adventures and you give good info really good
Hi from Australia, i really enjoy your videos, thanks for all your effort, fishing wise, try throwing your lure with the current, not really natural coming upstream?, might help, thanks again !
@@BackridgeButcher Hi I’m in Victoria Far East Gippsland, Sambar deer here but still recovering from the Bush fires. Trout will sit in the water head facing upstream, waiting for there food source to come with the current, less effort , look for the white/pale rocks, they will sit on which makes there food stand out as it travels over it, thanks again BRB.
Definitely wasn't good in the Ruahine, hence the reason we took the long way round north of the Kaweka’s, was really cool seeing some new area from the birds eye view
nice work team BRB looked like an awesome flight in, amazing country and that camera has great zoom
Love your videos be great to see a break down of your Hunters Element gear you wear layers you use and when for, love there gear 👍

Did you meet him at the Boyd? His sense of humor in his books was amazing

Millions of peaches, peaches for me
What does it cost you for a cost sharing flight? Can you fit 5 people in there??
You pay 1/2 the fuel mate
To hell with that, there didnt look to be a lot of clear sky between those clouds and those nasty hills when you flew in...

Shot my first sika stag on Charlie’s old air strip
