Hard case - hunted that creek a couple of times. Flew in to that exact same wee hollow about 20 years ago and camped there for a week on one occasion - the pilot knew it was there from his venison recovery days. There were a couple of old Avgas cans sitting on a knob just above it. The rumble of ice falling from the glacier into the lake used to wake us up. Not many deer in there then, but quite a few bull tahr. Suspect it gets culled a bit now.
Oh wow that's awesome! First person I've heard that hunted there apart from us. A cool little spot, I was expecting to see Tahr too but I think your right, they have been probably culled out
@@j.e.wilds-hunting Went in there 3 times. Snowed out once. Walked in another time from the hut in the main valley and it rained a bit, couldn't cross the main river so had to bash back to hut on true left which was crappy. We didn't see any deer in that side valley at all back then, only out round above the main river valley. But good numbers of tahr. Not great trophy potential in the bulls, we shot a couple of mature ones but very small bodied animals with horns to match. Lovely spot and some awesome history from the golden days of trophy hunting.
Well done Joe, bloody good production mate! Really appreciate all the effort you put into your work and how we get to enjoy it at no cost at all, legend!
Can you make a favorite gear list? I see that you bring specific gear on each of your trip! It would make a good video in my opinion and I think most of us would enjoy! For example, your rifle of choice and why, your caliber, favorite backpack, boots, etc. Love your vids!
"Uncanny" is such a good way to describe the way that you always manage to see the animals and are so calm about it! This is one of the best ones yet Joe, keep doing what you're doing and loving life. Love your stuff and keep bringing more!
Hey Joe Winston here from South Africa. Just want to say keep up the hard work man 😅😅 loving the videos !!! Just one last thing I'm relatively new to your channel, but nonetheless Joe I want to find out can you please do a video showcasing what all you pack for a solo 6-12 day hunt you know gear meals tents etc will be interesting to know exactly to know the brands for quality surances... 😅😅But love the videos and yeah keep up the effort!!!😅😅
What a great adventure. Now that’s my type of meeting. Great idea being in the field and getting a feel for what Joe does. Question Will you be at the sika show in a few weeks.
Haha it's either Ian comes to me or I go to Ian in Auckland... which one would you choose haha. I'm not sure about the Sika Show just yet, I'm actually going to be overseas again and not sure if I will be back for it or not. I'm hoping to go tho
Lots of good fishing in oman and the next min u drag a goat from your back yard and drop it in the middle of the mountains pretending its a prize kill, you never stop surprising me 😂😂😂
Hi Joe, which eberlestock pack is that you are using? I've got the j107 dragonfly, had it for ages, but looking for another one for the collection, cheers mate, love the content
The Access is designed to handle more extreme weather and conditions. I have both and use each in different scenarios, I usually take the Access into the higher elevation hunts, but if I were doing a lower elevation or warmer weather hunt them I would always take my Hubba
Thanks for the adventure, Joe!
Until next time aye bro!
Ian has got to be one of the most chill guys ever. I would bet his heart beat never fluctuated before or after the shot.
Nerves of steel aye, chilled to the max haha
